Here in England when the Kung Fu craze started in 1974 it was Lo Lieh who started the Kung Fu craze not Bruce Lee, it was his film King Boxer what Started it off then Bruce Lee and others came after, still got that film in my Seventies Kung Fu films.great days.

Our introduction to this movie genre was similar here in America.. But we were fortunate to see KING BOXER (in it's slightly censored form and retitled 5 FINGERS OF DEATH) a year prior to it's UK release in 1973. The story goes that US distributors were given a choice of one out of the 10 most popular martial arts films in the Shaw Bros library at the time to release first. 5 FINGERS OF DEATH was the unanimous choice! It's still a true Classic in every sense of the word!
      Cheers 🍻 mate!

He was capable and believable in either capacity. He was the best villain ( Pai Mei ) and the best hero ( King Boxer ) not to mention all the roles he costarred with Wang Yu , Chang Pei Pei , David Chang and Gordon Liu.
