Just in general, the fact that all the partners have different lines for different situations in the game all the time just shows how much care was put into this game

Then in the arena, he’d say “Using a Crystal Star for your own well being? You’re not just conceited! You’re VILE!” Then once the battle commences, bobbery says “Alright, old boy! Time to avenge King K. and Bandy Andy!”
Grubba and Vivian fight: Vivian: “This looks like the paper that Grubba hid, Mario! Let’s read it and see what we can find.” Mario *reads paper* Vivian: “Let’s see… It says something about… Gee whiz, Mario! These are the blueprints to a machine under the ring using a Crystal Star! I don’t really understand the document’s complexity, but it looks like the Crystal Star is the machine’s power source! And if this is correct, then this machine can drain people’s power! Oh no… Do you think King K and Bandy Andy had been caught and… *gulp* drained?!” Grubba: “GREAT GALLOPIN’ GULPITS! How in tarnation did YOU get in here, son? Well, slap me an’ call me Sassafras! Yer starin’ at my secret paper too!” Vivian: *confronts Grubba* “You… big meanie! How dare you suck the life out of innocent souls?! You’re worse than my sisters!” Grubba: “Whoa, nelly! Koops definitely deserves a shoutout here! For a guy who’s typically unsure of himself and lacking confidence, his courage shines through where it truly matters. I mean, just look at how he stands up to Grubba at 4:33 and 5:27 ! Not to mention he’s facing against what’s practically a serial killer who silences those who know/ suspect too much or just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I'd think something like this: Vivian: You monster! My sis may not be a Saint, but she hasn't done anything remotely close to what you did to King K and Bandy Andy! Let's get him, Mario! Bobbery: You shut your trap, you reprehensible vermin! What did King K and Bandy Andy ever do to you, hm?!? After him, old boy! Ms. Mowz: Zip it, tubby! The jig is up! How could you do that to poor King K and Bandy Andy?! Chase that scumbag, dearie!
I never thought that Goombella had it in her to call a villain a "scumbag". I'm getting flashbacks of Goku calling Frieza "the scum of the universe" in Dragon Ball Z Kai. (Note: If no one got the reference, then I'm sorry.)

Once i played this chapter, I IMMEDIATELY got hooked to this game. Grubba was a great and unexpected villain that I absolutely adored. And baby Yoshi, best partner out of the six.
If Vivian was in Super Mario Sunshine, Vivian would’ve come with Princess Peach, Toadsworth and The Toads for a Vacation in Isle Delfino, she would’ve cleaned the airstrip first, she would’ve come to Delfino Plaza, she would’ve find out that Mario is kidnapped by the sorceress named Queen of Hearts, she should have said, “Shut up! You make me sick! Why’d you kidnap that poor innocent soul, huh?” to the Queen of Hearts, she could have defeated the Queen of Hearts and rescued Mario.
I wonder what would Mallow and Geno from Mario RPG would reacted to Grubba if they were as cameo partner? And I wonder what Mallow and Geno's dialogue would say?
Makes me wish you could replay your save New Game + style, but I guess that would break the story, which would make sense since you get these partners as you progress through it but still, I’m pretty sure if you were to bring them into cutscenes they’re not supposed to be in they’ll have no dialogue

The fact that they gave expressions to their partners gives much more of a feeling of reaction than is based on dialogue bubbles

There’s a pair of Star pieces in the office. One of which can be seen on screen somewhere, another is in the other drawer.
All the scenes cut out before leaving the office. Perhaps they took both of them on the way out on whichever version the game continued from?
