I have one of these. I recabbes it and swapped the speaker for a little warehouse g12c 20 watter. I also modded it to access both the 8 ohm and 4 ohm output pins. Great little amp.
Picked up a little Silvertone 1471 amp couple years ago at the Salvation Army store for $15. More of a novelty thing, since I got one for Xmas as a kid (with a Silvertone Strat). Good conversation piece.
Silvertone speaker baffles are typically made of masonite; a baffle made of luan plywood would be a structural improvement! Otherwise, it woukd be simpler to add a speaker-out jack and plug it into a 2x12 or 4x10 cabinet. PS, the cabinets are made of a compressed-paper wallboard material called Homeosote, which I call mother-of-wasps-nest; it's soft and falls apart of it gets wet, so these amps aren't really suitable for transporting to gigs and jams: great for studio use, however. If you have to ship one, pack it extremely well or the cabinet won't survive.
First time viewer and 0:02 subscriber! Your small amp series pulled me in! Even though you said, you did not want to play the amp I feel like even a phone recording would give us a reference point as well as pull more of us small amp junkies into the fold! Thanks again for a great video!
I have one of these too. A lot darker sounding than a deluxe, trem sounds pretty

The silvertone is the amp heard on all the early Johnny Cash albums
That’s my old amp. I recognize the paint splash on the grill. Pulled it out of a barn in Epsom, NH.
Isnit literally?
what did you sell it for?
What a cool little blast from the past. No newer amps can match the mojo.
Great amps Im gonna buy one this week.
My local shop had one of these in nearly mint condition. Sounded good!

I reccomend leaving this classic alone. Original speaker and original cabinet = premium value. They are only orginal once!
i need me a lil old ampy
they didn't make anything in the Sears tower..
but money... and lots of it, too! 😉

I had one I bought local for $8 at garage sale, worked like a charm, wish I kept it, too much profit to be made.
