You have helped motivate me to get out and fish, to appreciate the small things while being in such these tranquil areas I choose that are so relaxing, and in the first time in over 10 years I hooked a nice Bass (released). PTSD has been a battle but getting out fishing has really been helping me tremendously.
I can relate with the ptsd and i also recieved a traumatic brain injury that drastically changed my life...fishing and being on the water is the best therapy
I love how your first reaction to a fish is always "It's huge!" Or "It's a giant!" 😂 Even when it turns out to be about 6". Have to admire the constant over the top enthusiasm! @ALBERT WANG I know predominantly of some good fall run rivers here in Oregon, but as for Springers, I have yet to dip my toes into it. I know usually between late March and late April, there is quality Springer action throughout the Willamette river in and around Willamette Falls, down through where the Mollala River empties into it, and up through where the Tualatin & Clackamas rivers empty into it, making the lower parts of those rivers hot spots to go for Springers as well.
Last I heard, there was still fairly hot springer action from Kelly Point down through the Sauvie Island area last week. That is a little late for a typical year, but it's got a lot of people excited and happy.

Leon Del Mar- lion of the sea - lingcod. Friend caught a big lingcod and 10 rockfish and put them in the same gunny sack. Later couldn’t find one of the rockfish. Found it when cleaning the lingcod - ate it while in sack. Vicious fish.

Right? Flounder here on the gulf are comparatively huge. The minimum length to keep is 15 inches.
I know I wish I could get that excited over anything. LOL.
The flounder here are mostly sand dab and the size of what he used to catch the lingcod. If you want big flatfish, catch halibut. That's open now BTW, NWFS. You should make a trip out to the strait or Sekiu and catch one.

I love your videos Leif. When I had my Arima Sea Legend I had some epic salmon and lingcod trips. I supplied the bait, the rods and the PDFs for the kids and the adults to wear at all times while on the water and everyone always went home safe and with a share of the fish whether they caught any or not. I agree with you, eating it fresh is the best way to enjoy it but I never tried cooking fresh caught fish on my boat. If I buy another boat I will definitely do the NW Fishing Secrets' catch and cook on the boat.Thanks for sharing your great adventures.

Nice ling!! Me and my dad went ling fishing today and we caught 2 lingcod 11 and 13 inches(little babies) and 1 quillback rockfish and 2 Black Sea bass here in ma 13. We also hooked two sea catapilers and one star fish😂🤣🎣

Big buzzbombs work really well on Lings. If you ever run out of bait. Jut jigging buzzbombs over a reef or rock pile. If there are lings there they will hit them.
