Excellent portrayal of the terrible events of that day. Oscar nominations for leading actor as a hay mow; special effects choreography; and cinematography in a dairy farm vlog. Glad no one was sheltered in place. Be well!🐗🚜👌
You guys have the best attitude, you were meant to farm as you deal with what is handed to you. I’m reliving my growing up memories with you guys, enjoy so much. Keep up the good work.
You've got to have a sense of humor about things... Stuff happens. Nobody was hurt and no animals were hurt, so it was a pretty good day! Thanks for watching!
The same thing happened to our Shelterlogic structures. However, I paid someone to assemble them and he didn't tie them down. We were able to salvage one of them. We just built another and I didn't pay the guy to assemble it. We did it ourselves, making sure to Tie It Down. (Actually my son built it; I was moral support.) I'm glad you made the comment about checking the tie downs. I'll make sure to do that regularly. Thanks!
Hi guys, sorry for your loss there. I too have 2 shelter logic structures on my farm and have used them for years with no issues. What I do to help secure them is drive steel fence posts at the corners and use fencing wire or chain to hold in place. I may not have the wind here in Wisconsin like you have there. That is exactly what happened there ,the ground got soft and the anchors let loose.
Hindsight is 20/20, but T-posts could have pulled out of the ground too. Oh well. Luckily it had served it's purpose. We are pretty exposed up on a bench above the valley, and the wind was out of the West which is not a predominate direction. With everything it was just a literal perfect storm. Nobody was hurt so it's all good!
What a bummer!! I added four T-posts to mine in addition to the anchors it comes with. So far so good. It's withstood 60+ mph gusts. I worry about them every wind storm though. Good thing you guys busted your humps and now have a barn!
Sorry to hear about the Shelter Logic but as you say no one was hurt all things are repairable I'm sure you can fix it after seeing the things you have done over time. Nice to see the boundary and other parts of the farm God bless to you both and please stay safe.
I had a two shelter logic type sheds over 20 years. They have to be secured to the ground with at least 6- 3 foot ground screw anchors that have a screw diameter of about 4 inches. They should always have closed doors and need the hurricane blowout panels in functioning order. My second one was 20 wide and twelve deep. I actually sided it with vinyl. I lived on a hill on the CT ocean coast. The shed endured 4 major hurricanes over 17 years. It was officially approved by an engineer for our town codes. It was still standing when we sold our home. On the hand our wooden grenades on our farm in Northern Alberta were tumbled 1/4 mile by high winds because they were not properly anchored. That little shed is not a write-off. Order a new cover, straighten the poles, put doors on it and anchor it solidly. It will last for decades. 🐮🐮🐮🐮
We're writing it off... It has served it's purpose anyway. It was always meant to be a temporary structure until our barn was built, which it is now! They're some salvageable materials left in it we'll reuse. There is no straightening of some of the poles, as they were literally torn apart. It's extremely light gauge steel. The cover itself is actually still in good condition, so we're currently using it as a tarp! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching all of our videos! We really appreciate it! Yes, the loss of the shelterlogic is disappointing, but luckily it had served it's purpose and now we are in a wonderful new barn! Thanks for watching!
Some of the welds were busted. There is some salvagable material there, but the upper curved section is pretty much toast. We'll recycle it and it'll get made into something shiny and new!
Hi, I know we barely know one another, but do you have a camera? Could you take some pictures? ☺️ Great Re-enactment!!! So sorry that happened, but you folks have a great sense of humor 💜
We have an awesome David Bradley hay wagon in fact! You can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/V1w7bs4PcaM/видео.html We didn't use it for this since it currently has baled hay stacked on it and our little farm wagon was just more convenient! Thanks for watching!
Still laughing ! The girls remained amazingly calm throughout the whole event ...and didn't even crack a smile at the RECREATION. l take the ''lesson'' to over-do the anchor system.
Now that your done with that go back to being retired.... wait, no my mistake, that is retirement, as you were Sir, good work... I mean, good retiring.
We reused to cover for awhile, and we’re still using the panels, but we’ll scrap the rest. Now that we have a barn, we don’t really have a need for it anyway. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! All is well in the end!
The recreation brought a smilie to my face.
We tried to make it as realistic as possible! :)
Love the reenactment! Glad all is well.
T C glad you liked it! Haha!

A great reenactment, very funny. Glad your barn is built.
David J. MacKinney that makes two of us! We love our barn!

Yes, the lack of checking the tie downs it what did us in! We were otherwise very impressed with the structure and happy we used it. Cheers!
Best dramatic reenactment since the great Cleveland Bear Sigthing of 2009.
We try and do our best! Thanks for watching!
I forgot all about that. What a classic.

Anything can happen! Hi Folks I'm ready for spring. Thanks for the update. 👋
You and me both! Hopefully we can start grazing around April 1st!
You guys look like you’re thoroughly enjoying farming full-time. Enjoyed the video look forward to the next one.
Jason Smith thanks! Definitely keeping busy. Looking forward to “just farming” and not building and farming!
Oh my. I am blown away with this bit of unfortunate news. So glad no necks were broken during the harrowing re-enactment!
Carry on, farmers.
No Stacy's were harmed in the making of this production.

Denny's Country Life it’s a bummer, but glad we have our barn! It was rock solid!

Fix it? Probably not. It has run its course now that we have a barn. But, I can now make new things from it! Thanks for watching!

Awesome recreation!
Thanks! We put a lot of work into it! Haha!
Sorry for your loss. Nice reenactment. Good to see the Cub again. I watch all yours vids. PaulL

Ha ha ha! The re-enactment was so funny!
Need to get that loft floor in!
No loft for us! Everything at ground level. The mow will be at the front of the barn, and the cows at the back. Thanks for watching!
Best re-enactment In recorded history!
Seriously could you use the cover frame for a slightly bent high tunnel greenhouse or cold frame?
Some of the welds were busted. There is some salvagable material there, but the upper curved section is pretty much toast. We'll recycle it and it'll get made into something shiny and new!
Great video. Hilarious!
We tried to be as historically accurate as possible! haha!
1:27 - 1:50 tells me we think alike.... and leading up to that I was imagining that exact dramatization taking place... bravo 👏
We tried to be as historically accurate as we could! :)
Did it scream
It was screaming on the inside! :)
Sorry for the loss, thing matter
Thanks! Nobody was hurt, so it's all good. Luckily the shelter had served it's purpose so its loss isn't much of a detriment to the farm as a whole.
Did you have it anchored?
Indeed! Check out where I talk about it at 5:17. Thanks for watching!
I just caught that part, makes since
R you guys thinking about having a hay loft
Todd Caskey Great question! But no... The front half of our barn will be a hay mow, but it will all be on one level. Thanks for watching!
Hi, I know we barely know one another, but do you have a camera? Could you take some pictures? ☺️ Great Re-enactment!!! So sorry that happened, but you folks have a great sense of humor 💜
You need a hay wagon sold one that a buddy had for 600.00 here in Maine. Farm was sold, not going to farm there.

Barbara vickroy the girls are so bored right now. They just want Spring and grazing!
I'm waiting for the upload videos of 12. The Kenworth cabover
Erik Jerez me too! Haha! I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had a chance to work on 12. Hopefully with Spring I’ll have some time. Stay tuned!
OK, that made me laugh.
You have to have a sense of humor about things! Thanks for watching!
Oh my! More proof of farmer Murphy's law. You know - if anyone is watching, the situation is going to go sideways.........😁
It was literally sideways. And upside down. And then sideways again. Over and over! haha!
Are u going to have famly
We are unable to have our own children, and so....more cows! :)
Now that your done with that go back to being retired.... wait, no my mistake, that is retirement, as you were Sir, good work... I mean, good retiring.
Good thing I like the work I do! Thanks for watching!
It' fixable
We reused to cover for awhile, and we’re still using the panels, but we’ll scrap the rest. Now that we have a barn, we don’t really have a need for it anyway. Thanks for watching!
