Great news Boss!! I've had my 2 10 X 10 dark brown shelter logic sheds for about 10 years and other than a lot of snow maintenance and sun rot, it was a great purchase at $199.00. Have fun!!! We live and learn.😊
Holy smokes its been 7 years since you bought that. Man time flies, thanks for taking the time to make videos. Finally jumped in and started a deep mulch garden this year.
Oooohhhh, they're made so much more cheaply, now. You got one when they were made well, and so did we. If anyone wants to buy one now, PLEASE read RECENT reviews, otherwise, best reviews are given first. We won't buy another. Great video!!
Thats Amazing ! Especially the Zippers not ripping out etc. WOW, The company should DEFINITELY send you a New one because I bet at least 15 people or more will buy one now due to your video. Your the Best my friends. God Bless you Both. Amen. Big Jim New Hampshire USA aka Boston Strong
That held up really well through the rough winters and all. It’s good to see you, and I hope you and Lori are doing well. It’s a beautiful day here in Maine, and we’re still trying to clear our wooded paths from tree destruction after that last snow storm. I hope you were spared there. Take care, and God Bless!
@@thebossoftheswamp Instead of the parting of the seas, it looks more like the parting of the trees. Some all went to the left, and the rest went to the right. What a mess! I hope you were able to get all of yours taken care of. Have a blessed weekend!
I would never have thought the tarp would hold up that well for seven years. The frame maybe, but I would have thought the tarp would have dry rotted and disintegrated in that length of time. I’ve had canvas tarps and plastic tarps over my dog pen that only lasted a few years and we don’t get much snow in North Carolina. Maybe heat and humidity are more destructive than snow. Whatever it is, you made a great choice.
Blessings Boss! I think for the money these shelters are great. BTW, you can get a new cover from Harbor Freight through customer service but you have to go through a request process. I know of one that is still going strong like yours (5 years old) and they ordered a new cover. It also makes a great paint booth!
I'm happy you've had such success with your Shelter Logic "tent as you call it". I bought a larger version as a work space for a car restoration project. You have snow. Here in Florida we have sun. The cover was hanging in tatters at the 7 month mark. Customer service was great and a new cover was in place very shortly. It lasted about 6 months. Pretty disappointed.
Exactly. They're not making like they used to. Cheap tarp, now. Also live in FL and had 2 that lasted yrs went they were still well made. Won't buy another after reading RECENT reviews
Well Well Boss man. I can't believe it's been six years since you got that tent. How time goes fast, when having fun. Great recap on how it's holding up - it's doing great. All the best from the Swedish woods. Michael.

What a great infomercial for the tent company with a little bit of luck. Maybe they will send you a free replacement. It’s the least they could do considering the weight of the snow, and to squeeze a little more live something tells me some parachute cord strung between the supports, kind of like a spider. Underneath the plastic and the small holes looks like just the right amount of ventilation. I came from the big city, but my love for the outdoors and mother nature really change this old man watching you and the family gives me hope.
Good morning Boss and Lori and Tildy, looks like you are having good weather now there at the camp. I am happy to see the review on the Shelter Logic. I watched you when you put it up and made the 1st review and I am so happy it has been a good tent for machinery. Wow have you made a garage organization video? Love the order with the uniform coffee cans..there is a lot of thought involved in organizing..thanks for the vid on the tent...think I need one for my lawn mower...have a great day
Six years is a GOOD duration. I think I was one of them voting for a secondary tarp for the UV protection aspect. I'm actually surprised it didn't start to degrade from UV after only 3 years. Now, you do know that Shelter Logic sells replacement canopies? Might be a consideration for when the fabric beings to come apart on you. If you have the luxury of rigging a taught ridge line to afford you a steep angled "A" frame shape to shed the snow, that'd help preservation a lot. Great to see you're getting your money's worth from it.
I think it would have degraded if it was out in the sun but it's pretty shaded where we set it up. I'm just amazed it held it's own through this past winter when I wasn't there to get the snow of it.
My neighbors put one up and it was in the sun. Half way through the 2nd summer it began to rip and first snow saw the end to that canopy. They definitely don't do well in the full sun!
Hi Boss, I watched you in the video back then when you opened the packaging of this kind of spare garage that had been kept in your warehouse for some time. Back then when you built the thing, you wondered if this kind of garage would last for some time and it certainly did. God bless☘️💫🍀😉
Hey JC from our corner of the NH woods. Nice to see money well spent. You and Lori are still looking dug in and cozy in your dad's camp. There is something to be said for that project. I thought of you guys last week while driving through Springfield. If you're driving past us this summer, stop by the farm. Cheers! ~ Diane
I agree they are more than worth the money for an inexpensive storage structure. I have one at a lake property in MN and mine has been up even longer and it has performed well. The sippers stick sometimes, but a bit of wax on them makes them work fine again! Thanks for you review. I enjoy your blogs!
I'd say that you more than got your moneys worth going into year 7. I've seen them around but no one I knew that I could get an opinion I would trust. Until your comments, of course. Thanx for the testimonial.
My folks and I moved to Maine about 2 years ago. We bought a Shelterlogic garage-in-a-box about a year ago. Put a bunch of pallets inside to store stuff and containers; my house doesn't have a lot of storage space LOL. Fairly easy to put together, we had help from my cousins to get the canvas on. The cable anchors were a little difficult job because, well rocks, so I ended up digging holes and dropping them in instead of pounding them into the ground like the instructions said. But all in all, it was a job well done, and it serves well for us. If have any concerns, its just that when we have high winds, like earlier this year, the zippers would slowly little by little and the front end of the tent would lift off the ground 😳 So later on I got tube sand to weigh it down by the door. But it's fine. I'm planning on building a garage structure to replace it at some point. It's fun to build stuff anyway 😁 p.s. I do believe Shelterlogic products are Made in the U.S.
I am pleasantly surprised how well it held up! I have often times been suggested to get one and have opted not to as I assumed it would not hold up due to snow load. I know of two that are set up in this area. One has been up for a few years and still looks good as new. Since I don’t venture out much in winter I have no idea if they regularly knock the snow off and the other one collapsed this year under the weight of one storms worth of snow. As you said everyone’s experience will be different. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. 😊
Well boss i have to say im on my 2nd shelter logic 12x24 only because we moved and i bought the same 1 first 1 like new 7 yrs when we got 2nd one had a rip my wife emailed company.and they.sent me a replacement for it all man u.cant beat that and thats what old Karl is going to say is good off grid logic!!!!lol 😅
Reviews are great. The best part is follow up over time. Many channels are just ads now. 1st time use, "highly recommended" "best product" they've ever used. I don't buy unless I see the product over several years still working well.
I’ve used them for years ! Never researched the origin just did exactly as you said : used my money wisely lol. The covers aren’t anywhere near as robust as they were when they first came out and now the biggest enemy is direct sunlight so your shaded area was a wise decision. I usually put a tarp under the factory tarp as well. Then another that I get from tractor supply over the top. They sell truck tarps for flatbed loads. With metal D rings sewn in and those are really rugged tarps. Hope all is well. Take care my friend
I've had excellent results with the cheap green tarps I get at the Joblot store. Been using them for years over my firewood. Made by the "nese" of one origin or another but it is what it is ;-)
A few of our northern neighbours have these for similar uses. They all seem to be pretty happy with them. I'm betting some duct tape would patch those holes up pretty well and prevent further ripping. Thanks for the long term review, Bossman.
I'm in northern Minnesota. I bought two bigger ones 4 years ago. One roof started to tear after 3 years and the other one started this winter. Kept snow off it. Frame is good so I'll put tin roofing on it and it will last a long time.
Hiya Boss, Lori and Tildy 🖐🏻. I'd say that was a darn good purchase 👍🏻👍🏻. And glad it's working out for y'all. Been in southeast Georgia with family the past few weeks, it's beautiful here. Heading north tomorrow to my next stop, sister's place in Western North Carolina, love it there. Good to see an update from y'all. Appreciate Y'all. Stay safe. Love and Prayers For All ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻

Well Id say you made a great purchase Boss to last that long with that snow load and didn't have to go broke buying one . They are made in China and the USA. Thanks Boss love your content
I’ve had those shelters for years. They use to hold up very well but now I’m lucky to get two years out of one. I have to tape rips after the first or second winter … and I clean the snow regularly.
Hey Boss, no lemon with this one 🎉. I can almost guarantee that everyone who owns in snowy weather went out and cared for it🥴. I hope yours make it for a few more👍. JO JO IN VT 💞
The key is to get the round top! I had 3 angle tops, and they all got crushed. The round tops will last if you check the snow occasionally. Now I'm using 3 - 12x20 roundtops that work great!
I guess my first observation would be the amount of UV the tarp is subjected to. Yours is in the bush and that helps. I bought my Shelterlogic in 2004 and it was setup in full sunlight. She split stem to stern in 4 yrs. The good news is that the 160.00 replacement is still in service. When that skin fails I will probably go to a steel roofing option.
I think the design of the product you bought is better than the one we bought. We bought the kind that has the roof as a separate piece from the sides and the roof comes down a few inches over the sides. The problem for us was that the wind got under that roof and pulled it right off after just a few months. Who knows, that tarp might have ended up at the neighbor's or something! I also think the tarp itself and the bungee straps were kind of poor quality. So after having 2 sets of coverings fall apart, our framework has been sitting for several years with no cover, making our property look unsightly. Oh well, it's not on today's (or next month's) to-do list! Someday, that area is something we have to deal with. Here's a tip for cleaning the snow off the roof: Take a 2 litre pop bottle and cut part of the top off. Make the opening just big enough to go over the end of a stick (like a broom stick) and duck tape it on. Then use the upside down pop bottle as your pusher, rather than abusing a broom! I also think it might be a little kinder to the tarp.
❤hello sir, I believe & respect you opinions & advise. I try to buy local + guality. Sometimes supply isn't there or the money isn't. We have a place called Harbor Freight which sell products less expensive. I have had great results buying stuff from them. Thank you for all you do, & God's blessings always ♥
It's also very hard to know what you're buying and who and where it's made. I wanted a mercury outboard for my boat. All Mercury motors up to 30hp are made by Tohatsu. The Tohatsus over 250hp are made by Honda (or something like that) So many products are rebranded so nobody really knows that they're buying.
Hi Boss! Wow! That tent garage shed thingy is really a good one. Most I've seen around here usually end up on the back of a garbage truck after just a few years. I can't picture you being rough on your things though. Guess it's all in the way you put it together. It's all about the bass. Lol
I've had my Shelter Logic for 10 years now. I originally bought it to house my Dodge Challenger until my garage got built. I now keep my firewood in it. I have a model with a high sloping roof. Never had issues with snow. We got 10' of snow in a month in 2015 (I live in MA) and never had to remove any snow from the roof. The bad part is it's so high up installing the doors is a impossible without a tall enough ladder. They doors eventually failed and had to come off. It's a long story. Anyway, the quality of the material is superior. I have mine fastened down with the anchors and the anchors are cemented in the ground. Plus I have have the feet on the sides screwed into pressure treated boards that are anchored in the ground with rebar. It ain't going anywhere.
I bought one based on your original review and mine didn't last 8 months. But I did put it in the sun. One Georgia summer completely removed the internal layer then the whole cover just disintegrated. Probably work best when it's in the shade.
Gosh, 7 years? I'd say you did really well. Thanks for checking in Boss!
As for as the holes from blocks and creases, good old Mississippi Chrome ( duct tape) will take care for another 7 yrs. 😆
7 years? My how time flies when you're having fun! ❤❤

7 Years ago the material that Shelter Logic used to make your tent, was made in Nova Scotia, Canada. Happy to see it still serving you well!
if made in canada my guess is that it is NOT cheap chinese crap.
Hard to know where things are made now. Everything is rebranded, made here / assembled there. I didn't even get a fortune cookie with it.

Stay safe. Love and Prayers For All ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
You're hitting some nice areas. Enjoy it my friend :-)
Dang it Man! 😬 I was just looking for that old video you’re talking about and couldn’t find it. I’m was telling my pops to get one of these for his 4 wheeler. I will send this video to him now. I can’t believe you just did this video! Perfect timing! Thanks Again Boss!
Hopefully they still make them as good as this one.
We're all due for a NEW bubble foul video!!! Jeepahs!! Great video as always!! 🇺🇸😁☮️✌️
Gotta bring back the salt ice first haha
Well Id say you made a great purchase Boss to last that long with that snow load and didn't have to go broke buying one . They are made in China and the USA. Thanks Boss love your content
I’ve had those shelters for years. They use to hold up very well but now I’m lucky to get two years out of one. I have to tape rips after the first or second winter … and I clean the snow regularly.
I've been wondering if they've gone cheap like everything else.
It served ya well@
Wow awesome
Thank u for sharing w us Jim.Hope u r having a great summer so far.😊❤
Good information and I might try this for some of my equipment, thanks for sharing, Have a great day.
Ray
Thank you.
Nice
Thanks for the review. I am thinking of getting one and this review has been helpful!👍
Hopefully they're still made as well.
Hey Boss, no lemon with this one 🎉.
I can almost guarantee that everyone who owns in snowy weather went out and cared for it🥴.
I hope yours make it for a few more👍.
JO JO IN VT 💞
We got two 25" storms back to back and we weren't there to clear the snow off. I really expected it to crumble but it's still standing. Amazing :-D
thanks boss 😀
Great video Boss❤❤
The key is to get the round top! I had 3 angle tops, and they all got crushed. The round tops will last if you check the snow occasionally. Now I'm using 3 - 12x20 roundtops that work great!
Good to know :-)
William Larkham is on alone !!!!!!!!!! Were you aware of this ???????????? AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!
No I wasn't but thank you for letting me know. I just got back from the cabin where I was drinking from the glass he had sent me way back when.
@@thebossoftheswamp Thats great !!!!! I hope he does well, maybe he will go all the way...
Looks great!!
I agree with your observation. UV destroys fabric.
You were smart setting that up in the trees. I doubt it would have lasted that long in full sun with UV damage.
Agreed.
Those minor rips and wear points can easily be repaired with goop adhesive and or some duct tape.
You now know where the wear spots are on the shelter so you can take care of those spots before putting a tarp over.
Hi Boss! Wow! That tent garage shed thingy is really a good one. Most I've seen around here usually end up on the back of a garbage truck after just a few years. I can't picture you being rough on your things though. Guess it's all in the way you put it together. It's all about the bass. Lol
Certainly can't complain :-)
Wow 7 years
Time is flying by :-o
Thanks for sharing :-)
I bought one based on your original review and mine didn't last 8 months. But I did put it in the sun. One Georgia summer completely removed the internal layer then the whole cover just disintegrated. Probably work best when it's in the shade.
Sun is really tough on fabric.
The proof is in the pudding Jim and that time went quite quick. As always good luck. My friend.
Good Backwoods shelter Logic :-D
Thank you with a smile
