Intel wants to DECEIVE you!

  • Intel 10th gen Mobile H series is out and it's pretty disappointing:
it is for the most part identical to the 9th gen.
What's worse is the fact that Intel is really trying their hardest to deceive
customers with the "Thermal Velocity Boost" that inflates maximum boost
frequency numbers by 200Mhz on paper.
This is now a "feature" extended to the i7 skew as well which will make it
even more confusing for customers comparing 9th and 10th gen.
Don't get fooled by Intel's deceptive marketing, in this video we cover
everything you need to know when it comes to how the 9th and 10th generation 6 and 8 cores processors compare and what's "new".
After taking an extensive look on their meaningful characteristics, we can't help by notice how Intel's 10th gen H on 14nm still can't really compete with AMD Ryzen 4000 Zen 2.
Unfortunately though, there is a very big demographic that is not addressed with the AMD 4000 laptops available right now: the enthusiast gamers that want a 240Hz high refresh rate screen and a high end graphics card to push those frame-rates.
We include some gaming benchmarks from some popular mobile Nvidia graphics cards as a reference on what fps you might expect for some popular games and whether or not you are forced to forgo laptop offerings with Ryzen 4000, since right now the 2060 max-q seems to be the highest end option.
The Zephyrus G15 is unfortunately not changing that: even though it has a 240Hz panel option, it has a less capable thermal design than the G14 since unfortunately ASUS hasn't really taken advantage of it's bigger size.
Therefore its top graphics card option is the RTX 2060 Max-q.

It's a shame that the ryzen only comes with the RTX 2060, for gaming do you think it's a better deal to still go for a 10750H+2070 max q rather than G14 with the ryzen 4900H 45W with the RTX 2060, by the way, great video! You deserve more subscribers 👍

Thank you so much! I think you'll find my next video that I'm working on very interesting! I'll talk about that Intel situation as well. But if you want a little spoiler here it is:
      .
      .
      .
      .
      .
      .
      .
      Objectively, if it's just for gaming, at a comparable price, the 2070 max-q 80W + 10750H + a low response time screen
      is better than
      the G14 4900HS at 35W +2060 max-q 65W
Keep in mind that the G14 has a >40ms gray to gray combined response time, that is fine for adventure/action games, but not ideal for FPS or competitive e-sports.
Also ELUKTRONICS is gonna launch a a laptop with an overclocked 2060 possibly at 115W + 4800H, you might check that out.

@@factcheck1845 thank you for the quick reply, yup that's what I was thinking, can't really wait until manufacturers come to their senses about the ryzen 4900 to get a new laptop, mine needs retiring fast. Keep up the good work, cheers! Will check that new video!

iNTEL screwed up so bad this time

I would defenitely preferred more agressive price cuts, they in theory could definitely do it, the mark up on silicon is insane, but since there is still demand, and they have/have had supply shortages on 14nm there is no incentive for them to do it.
Companies don't necessarly strive to make better products, just the better selling product.
Should be consumers' to inform themselves to shrink that gap.

I just got a gs75 i7-10750hk 2080 max q 6 cores, so then it wouldn't be worth it to pay an extra $400 for the gs75 i7-10875hk 2080 max q with 8 cores even with the new games that are coming out?

      *Short answer*
In my judgment, even 150$ would be a fairly generous evaluation for gaming for the +2 extra cores difference in going form 6 to 8 in mobile.
      *Long answer*
Keep in mind in desktop CPUs this difference in price is usually in the ballpark of 100-150$, and mobile CPUs are more thermally constrained and so the effective performance difference between a 6 core and an 8 core is usually less.
Add to that GPUs are thermally constrained as well (even more so I'd say) and therefore the chances for being GPU bottlenecked are even higher.
On the other hand, if you'll be playing at 1080p most of the time, the performance *might* (in graphycally less demanding settings/games) be more dependant the CPU, still at most, as I said in hte short answer, this can't reasonably bring the 8core evaluation over a +150$ difference to the 6core.

Should I get a gaming laptop with i5 10300H or i7 10750H primarily for gaming?

I'll make a video about my considerations about it in the next days, so stay tuned!
If you want a small spoiler, if you are about to buy it, here it goes:
      .
      .
      .
      .
      .
      .
The "unique" feature about it is that is the first laptop with ryzen 4000 with a 240Hz low response time screen. But unfortunately it's internal design is not top notch, it's kinda a lazy job tbh. It's much bigger than the G14 but unfortunately ASUS didn't use that space in an efficient or usefull manner. Actually the thermals might even be worse since it actually has 1 LESS big heatpipe (or 2 depending on how you conunt a shared one between CPU and GPU) compared to the G15.
I'll go more in depth in the video! For now unless you are very into competitive e-sports, or you don't care about portability, despite the screen, I think the G14 is an overall better product.

Fact Check awesome to hear. Subscribed! Doesn’t the G15 have two NVMe slots though? That might be a pretty big benefit. Just saying.

    • @factcheck1845
      @factcheck1845  4 года назад +1

@@Line7Charlie yes it does to some, mainly if you are looking for extra capacity, or dual boots or stuff like that. I'm not sure if the laptop supports RAID 0 though. But honestly, I personally see little benefits in most usecases to Raid 0 on aready hyper fast nvme storage solutions.
I personally would have dropped the extra m.2 slots for better cooling and/or for 2 so-dimm slots anyday.

Fact Check dang, I preordered the G14 and cancelled it and ordered the G15 simply for the better screen. I didn’t think it was that much bigger but can’t wait to see you or someone comparing them two.

    • @factcheck1845
      @factcheck1845  4 года назад +1

@@Line7Charlie The screen on the G15 is definitely better for gaming for fps and e-sports and action packed games! For those usecases it definitely has an edge over the G14.
It just a matter of choosing what is most important to YOU right now, unfortunately right now there is no Ryzen 4000 option that is without compromises.

Thank you a lot ❤ I am going to buy a asus strix scar III and just couldn't decide between the i7 and i9 versions cause of the clock number differences and the TVB feature on the i9 version
This fact check help me a lot 😍

Glad I could be helpful! Yeah the TVB is kinda intentionally confusing in my opinion, I had to research the details to have a clear picture!
