- Two of my favorite things the Moogerfooger line ever made are the MP - 251, and the FreqBox. I'm diving in today, Hans Zimmer modular moog synth style, today to go in search of something I've never heard before.
Most of the time I have no idea what I'm doing, and that's when I'm generally having the most fun. Twisting knobs until I start smiling and disappearing down the rabbit hole of the modular synth world.

I had my freakbox for a month before figuring out how to get something useful & subtle out of it, but with my middle pickup routed to the right cv in, now i get this lovely bit of harmonic fuzz following my bassline around that really kicks in if i haul off & whack it. Perfect! …my fave moogerfooger is still hands down the Clusterflux. Dear gods what a machine.

Loved it Janek! As an owner of the Moog FreqBox, RingMod and LPF I'm a super big fan of Moogs gear, I would love to own an MP-201 one day but it's a relief to hear you say you never used it with the kind of price tag they have on them now days. Super big fan of the channel and the addition of the pedal studio series, keep on doing what you do!

Hey Janek, ever thought about spliting the signal in parallel after the OC-2, that would be OC-2 on one side and both the OC-2 and the moog on another, I really like the extra sub that gives me, great video dude!

Hello, I’m impressed! I have the cp 251 and a bunch of pedals that have an expression jack. Also patch cables. I can’t make the cp make any sound to control me pedals. What type of cables are you using? I have normal patch cables that go between pedals and also 1 cable that belongs to the Moog expression pedals which has the extra line (stereo or trs). Pedals I’m trying to control with the cp are ocean machine, súper pulsar, hologram dream sequence & rv500 boss reverb but none work. Any tips 😅

Just to be factual here bud, The CP251 is so simple it’s ridiculous , I’ve been using the freqbox since they were released 14 years ago
The 251 is just a ultilities module , DC coupled mixer with lag which is basically just attack and release and an LFO and Sample and hold , useful but there’s much cheaper smaller euro rack modules which do a lot more
Maybe the next frontier of synth bass effects is throwing euro rack modules on our boards.
