It was such an honor to visit our friends at Moog and observe their unbelievable attention to detail at work! If you enjoyed this video, let us know in the comments, then hit those like and subscribe buttons🙏
They are very accommodating at the factory. If you stop in between tours, as I did the last time I was in Asheville, they will do everything possible to give you a quick look in to the work space. Great company and nice people.
I got to meet Robert Moog an NAMM a year before he died. I was working for Suzuki Musician Instruments USA and Moog's booth was across the aisle from us. Mr. Moog was all alone in their booth so I went over and spoke to him for about 30 minutes. He was so nice and humble. I was impressed and very sad to hear of his death.
The Matriarch is definitely a gift that the modern day Moog company has given to all of us. We are not only able to work with oscillators and filters that were on the original modulars from the 60s and 70s, we can even play chords on it! I bought my mine last month at the factory in Asheville, and a visit there is a seriously amazing experience. The people who work there are genuine, and well invested, both literally and figuratively, in this world of synthesis, and what I can only imagine as Bob Moog’s vision for his instruments. I’m sure he would be so proud if he could see where the company has progressed to these days. I feel so satisfied in supporting Moog with my purchase, and I have gotten an absolutely invaluable instrument that is honestly changing the way I view making music.
It's nice to live near Moog in Asheville. They are the real deal and comprised from people of the area. I adore my VoyagerXL and it's quite honestly the nicest peice of furniture I own. Whats more, it sounds glorious and I know it was made with pride. Each time I enjoy it, it helps remind me that someone nearby, got to pay some bills and feed their family with the purchase. A lot of this Moog stuff is simply a work of art and a part of American history. Thank you for the tour. What you see is what you get. Asheville is defnitely a unique town. Long live Moog music!
Always wanted to see the factory. Thanks to Dan, Sweetwater, and Moog for the virtual tour. Lots of people passionate about the instruments. It really shows. Hope the legacy can continue for a long, long time.
I really appreciate Daniel Fisher being enough of a fan to be in awe of where he is and to ask the same kinds of questions a "regular" fan like me would ask
Thanks Mr Fisher for taking the time and putting focus on a NC employee-owned American Musical Icon. I recently discovered the impact Wendy Carlos/Keith Emerson had on Moog's evolvement. Wendy Carlos's listening abilities I discovered thru Bo Tomlyn years ago and Mr Emerson I think helped also bring it to awareness to the masses. Some years ago, before the factory updates I was thrilled to also have a tour of the facility and always was honored for the opportunity...(Thanks Ms Linda) Actually while I was there Chick Corea called in to converse with his contact... icing on the cake!!! Originally from NC, Asheville is one of my favorite places and also very fortunate to have an event I've performed at there for the last 20+ years... always a treat. Very appreciative of the commitment, pride, dedication, and quality control of the Moog (Made in the USA) staff that makes it happen. yes...even though I presently have virtual Moogs....A Moog One is on my wishlist!!!! Thanks Again and Best Wishes
What a beautiful video! I am lucky enough to own a few Moog instruments and it's great to get to know the people who make these incredible machines a reality. Also, I must say that it seems like a great place to work at... Anyway, thanks Daniel for the virtual visit!
Thank you Daniel Fisher of Sweetwater Sound for your video production "Behind The Scenes Tour Of The Moog Factory". It reminded me of when I visited the Martin Guitar Factory in Nazareth, Pa. The products are only as good as the team that assembles them. I liked your one on one interviews with members of the Moog team. Your video was inclusive of all aspects of the factory production and very enjoyable to watch. The polyphonic MOOG ONE and your video has rekindled my interest in Moog products. Please continue to produce your videos - you are a highly respected player and instructor in the electronic keyboard industry. Of course Bob Moog would have been proud to see the current status of the company and so would my keyboard idol - Mr. Keith Emerson.
I loved the workspaces and the people. Did anyone else notice that Hannah Brewer's desk had a picture of the Log Lady from Twin Peaks and a drawing of Dana Scully? :)
Great presentation! I have finally decided to go for the Matriarch after I watched this video… actually I nearly ordered a Polybrute from Arturia but.. no, not this time. To see the dedication, care, the focus and faith to tradition that is going on there… wow! it inspires you.
How wonderful that a company with that big a focus on quality products is there and able to stay in business with so much cheap stuff going around these days!
I’ve always wanted to visit the Moog Factory and this video was the next best thing. I loved it. So good seeing kind people with a passion for beautiful hand built instruments. I own a Model D, Little Patty tribute and THREE Mother 32s. Each instrument reflects the attention to detail and passion that you see in this video. Moog lives. Play on!
I love watching this video! The conversations and all the gear. All the different kinds of people working together positively for an end goal and treating the customer with utmost respect. They sound just like your company, Sweetwater. You have set a standard for the industry.
Wow…as a moog owner (matriarch/Moog One, Mother32) i have been into moog since the minimoog came out in the early seventies and those days watching moog modular demos with big eyes and ears. Made a living out of this passion and its great to see how this wonderful people keep the heritage and spirit alive. Congrats to the staff at moog and thanks for posting this video. Its not (only) a product, its a very personal Instrument and i can feel it every day i use it!
One of the first synths I got to touch and mess with was a Moog little phatty at a guitar center. I always remember that day. Great gear and company. 👍🏾👍🏾
What is striking to me in this video is how the people we see seem to be happy about what they’re doing and really open to show their work. It does look like a really good place to work at ! :)
This is a great peek behind the curtain. I adore my Matriarch Dark, and there is no question in my mind that was made with love and an attention to detail that is not common in this day and age.
Wow, what a video Daniel! A great many thanks to you, Sweetwater and the Moog team for this walk through the production line, support, QA and everything that makes Moog happen!
Thanks for fawning over my Moog One 16 voice Moog factory during it’s build. I like and my Prophet 10 is now jealous as it sits covered and powered off the last few weeks since The One arrived. Incredible synth and what a great era to be a keyboardist.
Thanks for the tour! Wow, that video deserves millions of views! It's always a pleasure to see companies so dedicated to quality. *Made in USA still lives!* :-)
We visited the factory in Oct 2022 and loved it. We were in town to see Stereolab and figured it made a lot of sense to visit since we had never been to Asheville before. The place is amazing.
RIP Moog. After the recent layoffs. I can't imagine any of this will exist soon. I had a factory tour scheduled once, but they canceled me due to omicron. I wish they were never bought-out.
Bless Daniel lol I said before that you can tell he loves his job and synths, and this just feels so wholesome lol I want to visit the factory some day
What an amazing video, amazing people, calm, focused vibe..what a wonderful place Moog must be to work. The exacting standards they employ for everyone with no special treatment for all customers is exactly how it should be. Moog synths are a thing of beauty as well as such beautiful instruments. I purchased a subsequent 25 last year, best build quality , aesthetics and sound. Looks great in the living room 👊
Great video tour, Daniel! I've been on the factory tour twice, and it was a great experience. Happy Birthday, Bob Moog. Keep up the good work, Moog employee-owners!
I have loved this company and it’s vision for years. Over the last few years I have amassed a collection of Moog Instruments. My FAV combo is the GrandMother, DFAM and the THEREMINI (yes the Theremini). I’m working on a new project with 4 MOOG synths!
So Daniel is COVID lockdown Santa Claus, Hannah is THX 1138 hairstyle, can't wait to watch the rest of the video...much more assembly line than I had expected, thank you to all involved for being so warts and all honest. Truly isn't anything on Earth like a Moog, so, cheap at twice the price, as the saying goes.
Hi Ian. It was music made at the Moog factory. Moog Music Inc. has a SoundCloud page with lots of stuff that was created there. Even if that exact music isn't there, there is a lot like them. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
Would love to work there. Great walk through of the Factory. The only thing that I noticed, that kinda disturbed me, was the lack of people on the assembly lines, not wearing wrist straps. when you are working with static sensitive components, It is VERY important to be grounded.
Very cool. I remember going to the old Moog building once while in college in Asheville, and it's very cool to see the development since then. Haven't been to the Moogseum yet but it's on my list!
My Matriarch is special. Oozing character. I don’t play it like my other synths. I use it completely differently and it’s the start of the creative process every time for me.
God bless these employees! It truly makes me proud knowing these beautiful interments are still made in the USA! I hope that every young American who’s said you didn’t care if something is made in the USA or by slaves overseas will look at the faces in this video! When you say you don’t care if you buy American made products, these are the people you are taking food from!
it comes with the fingerprint from the floor shop workers, that's why the sound individual, in the East they would take gloves or robots. Cheers from Germany
It was such an honor to visit our friends at Moog and observe their unbelievable attention to detail at work! If you enjoyed this video, let us know in the comments, then hit those like and subscribe buttons🙏
Two of my favorite people! Daniel Fisher and everybody who works at Moog.
Great film Daniel. Everything about Moog has soul. The factory, the team and, of course the instruments. Wonderful.
Loved it! Now where are these Daniel Fisher live sets...
They are very accommodating at the factory. If you stop in between tours, as I did the last time I was in Asheville, they will do everything possible to give you a quick look in to the work space. Great company and nice people.
COWARD-19 FACE DIAPERS!
Hard to believe this is mostly going away...Heartbreaking

well said and your so lucky you got your hands on a moog synth!
Best synth I’ve ever bought, hands down (and I have lots of synths haha)
I'm not sure those are the same circuits as on the modulars.
@@shmi1964 same here! It's a beautiful instrument. Need to visit the factory sometime as well.
COWARD-19 FACE DIAPERS!
That is a healthy waveform.. That shit melted my heart.

One of the most wholesome videos on RUclips
Always wanted to see the factory. Thanks to Dan, Sweetwater, and Moog for the virtual tour. Lots of people passionate about the instruments. It really shows. Hope the legacy can continue for a long, long time.
I really appreciate Daniel Fisher being enough of a fan to be in awe of where he is and to ask the same kinds of questions a "regular" fan like me would ask
Glad to see mr. Fisher go to his happy place.
And now we know why a "One" costs 8K... Appreciating this behind-the-scene tour a lot! Wonderful people and top instruments!
Rolex and Moog, two employee owned companies known to be militant about putting out quality products. Thanks for the tour.
Worker owned businesses are the future i hope, the best thing possible in a world of greed and wage slavery.
Rolex are not employee owned - it's owned by a private foundation
Well.. at least the dream was fun. Now the question remains if this tour was setup to negotiate a price when they sold to inMusic

GREAT great company!!! Proud owner of a MiniMoog RE and a Voyager OS (serial No 500, last manufactured unit from the initial run).
OMG!! this is sooo cool!!! I love you Sweetwater
😁❤️
This is a great peek behind the curtain. I adore my Matriarch Dark, and there is no question in my mind that was made with love and an attention to detail that is not common in this day and age.
Been looking at analog synths. Think this video showed me why I keep leaning toward Moog. Be ordering soon from my favorite retailer Sweetwater.
Wow, what a video Daniel! A great many thanks to you, Sweetwater and the Moog team for this walk through the production line, support, QA and everything that makes Moog happen!

Fantastic stuff, would love to be able to visit Moog. But will never be able to 😩
Awesome tour !,, Bob ❤️
Very cool to see to birthplace of my much-adored Grandmother before she emigrated Down Under ;)

🤞
Sweetwater 3 month and 6 month payment plans make something like a Grandmother or Matriarch very feasible nowadays…

Great tour! Thanks for sharing this in-depth look at Moog HQ and the people keeping Bob's dream alive.
Great video tour, Daniel! I've been on the factory tour twice, and it was a great experience. Happy Birthday, Bob Moog. Keep up the good work, Moog employee-owners!
I could work in that place so much 😀
Great Video Brings me back to my job at at a Electronic Co
You guys should put together a tour video like this with the Sweetwater campus.
Truuuuuuuuuuuuu
Thanks for sharing!!! ... great walkthrough!!!
😎👍
Fantastic tour and lots of interesting info , thank you Daniel 🙏🏻

First scene I see my two favorite instruments and companies; Moog & Mellotron. I enjoy my Subsequent 37 as well as my "affordable" Mellotron Micro.
Great video Daniel! Comprehensive.

Awesome facility! I love Moog gear. ❤️
great stuff, Moog is such a nice company!
Thank you very much for this interesting inside view. A great company with great products (and 5 of them found a new home on my desk).
Would love to work there. Great walk through of the Factory. The only thing that I noticed, that kinda disturbed me, was the lack of people on the assembly lines, not wearing wrist straps. when you are working with static sensitive components, It is VERY important to be grounded.

Daniel Fisher is the Bob Ross of gear reviewers.
This is so awesome!!!
Got hooked on the Matriarch after seeing Lisa Bella Donna playing it.
My Sound Studio is on one of those pallets! can't wait to get my hands on it. really great tour!
😁👍
My Matriarch is special. Oozing character. I don’t play it like my other synths. I use it completely differently and it’s the start of the creative process every time for me.
Yep. You've just explained my take on Moog synthesizers perfectly. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
This was very cool, very enjoyable, thank you for doing this! :)

I don't know what I was expecting when pressing play on this, but, eh… I feel like buying some more Moog gear.
😂🤟
Bob asked me to put a stamp on his envelope; it’s a cherished memory I will pass down to my children one day.
it comes with the fingerprint from the floor shop workers, that's why the sound individual, in the East they would take gloves or robots. Cheers from Germany
Those old scopes and test gear were possibly more fun to look at than the synthesizers!
So, I'm curious, what sort of quality control do they do in the Moog factory?
Nice video, I would love a Moog of my own. One day...
Thank you
