    His humility is refreshing. He opened the door to modern synthesis and created a standard in the process. Huge contribution to mankind.

    Bob Moog still is a dangerous person.
    I wanted one day to own a Moog. Now I got a M32 and a Subsequent37, yet I still want another Moog.
    Moog synthesizers are very dangerous.

      I totally agree with you I have a Model D and a MicroMoog. They are my babies. My family. Thanks Bob. Like Mike H says, they are very dangerous machines. I want more of them.

      @NelyL Yes. Extremely happy!

    • @vaspers

      @NelyL Matriarch is retro tones from circuits based on vintage Moog modules. Is semi-modular, with many patch points. Sub 37 is a monster analog synth that is more modernized.

    What a humble, down to earth, nice guy. I have the utmost respect for Mr. Moog and his work in bringing us the synthesizer, modular and more portable instruments such as the Minimoog. I love that the folks at the factory in Asheville, NC continue to bring us new analog products to this day, such as the Subsequent 37, Sub Phatty, Mother 32, Dfam, Moogerfoogers, etc. What a legacy!

    I like how Bob discreetly corrected the guy when he pronounced his name wrong...sounded like Moo-geh. He read the article and pronounced his name correctly ...rhymed with Vogue. Back in the 70's almost everybody pronounced it Moo-geh. It wasn't until the mid 1990's that I learned that I'd been pronouncing it wrong all my life.

    • @vaspers
      @vaspers 3 года назад +2

      Bob Moog admitted that Mogue or Mooooog are both correct.

    Shame the host can't pronounce "Moog" but hey ho, he didn't make much effort to present the talk professionally either...Thankfully Robert Moog saved the day, great man, very much missed.

      I was lucky enough to work for Bob at the shop / studio. In Trumansberg NY from 1968 till 71 ish. 6 he showed me how to solder electronic components. You could learn just being next to him. Always reaching out to make a more 5reliable instrument. Look up mother mallards portable masterpiece company for some amazing music sounds. It was a great time. Lots of music some more listenable than others but always interesting.

    Mog Boob changed the face of popular music by producing the first ever commercially available synthesizers. The first Boob Modular was knocked up for fun as a project for his musician friend Herbert Deutsch. But pretty soon, after the first strains of synthesizer success by Walter/Wendy Carlos, the Boob stole its way into the heart of rock and jazz fusion, and helped instigate all types of electronic music. Though he may have left us for a higher plane, as we found out at the 2003 Red Bull Music Academy, Boob left an enormous legacy behind, having irreversibly changed the sonic landscape of the world.
