I just bought these because i'm going down the rabbit hole with my coloring books. It never dawned on me. I could use watercolors and a water brush to paint in my coloring books. I also have the intense watercolor pencils. Fun! I love the smallest one it's great for the small areas in my coloring books.
thank you for this video! this is so helpful. i was really worried that these water brushes would be crap for some reason? but i'm glad that they work well!
Glad I found your video, your review was good an like that you had others try out the brushes as well. Just received my Tombow box, like their products, thrilled with the brushes an book. Very nice to know that your pleased with the mix of brushes also.
I am 100% here for watercolor videos, recommendations, art supply tests and reviews - all of it. I'd even be down to see you try out a travel watercolor kit/set actually out 'in the wild'. Have you ever taken very minimal supplies out with you to do something like that? Urban sketching is what I'm thinking about, I love seeing people whip up a little sketch or watercolor image sort of on the fly while they are enjoying a cup of coffee or something!
I really love these sizes of brushes. I hate it when a waterbrush drips. You should try a water brush from Faber Castel. It fills like a syringe, so you can easy fill on the go. I love it. I have little to no water leaking.
They sound awesome! I think it’s the perfect combination of brush tips, especially if you want to take the least amount of water brushes on the go with you. I think the price is very reasonable, especially since they took the time to design them well-the hard plastic grip is an excellent feature.
I love your videos. I'm so glad I found your channel. I got into the Happy Planner in early spring of this year and I love what so many of the other content creators do, but I hate how they don't really seem authentic or if they are, they have no spice or flavor and are just boring. Do you have more videos of your drawings? Watching you do flowers was so lovely and is why I left this comment. ☺️
I am absolutely interested in more watercolor videos in particular and art videos in general! I would love more watercolor paint reviews, and even more art tutorial type videos like you do on Patron live streams but maybe that would be too much for a planner channel lol this is why I am a patron!
I’ve been thinking about trying watercolors for SO LONG, but I just have not been brave enough. I know if I suck the first time, I’ll never touch them again🙃 I LOVE the idea of a water brush to maybe give me more control of the paint, maybe I’ll give these a shot!
Watercolors are really difficult to get good at even if you’re a great artist because there is a lot to learn with the technique and making the water and paint do what you want, so please don’t get discouraged if you suck at first! You probably will lol but you will get better with practice, just like lettering! ❤️ For watercolor brands, professional quality paints can be super expensive, but it’s way better than the “student” quality, so if you want professional I recommend White Nights. They have some great large sets for way better prices than other professional brands. For example, you can get a 36 full pan set of White Night paints for $63 on Jackson’s Art Supplies. Windsor & Newton have a 12 half pan set for $65, so you get 24 more colors with White Nights and each color has twice as much paint! I think they are priced better than even some of the better student quality paints (like Van Gogh or Windsor & Newton’s student sets) and I really like them. You can find reviews on RUclips if you want to check them out and hear some more knowledgeable opinions! And water brushes are great to start out, a set like this in particular would be awesome. I went down a brush rabbit hole and bought a ton and now mainly use water brushes anyway lol
Tristyn Johnston You’re welcome! I’m a watercolor newbie too and kind of wish I found White Nights sooner because I bought a lot of crappy paints first lol Prima Watercolors and Jane Davenport also both have some cute little 12 half pan sets that are like $20 and have different themes like one is all pastel colors, one is brights, etc. I think Cindy has some reviews and comparisons of them on her channel actually. Good luck and I hope you give it a try and keep at it!
Great vid as always, Cindy!! Really appreciated the review on this brand of water brushes and your thoughts on the Pentel brand as well. I use to have a water brush when I scrapbooked for minor touches, but am wanting to get more into some artsy touches with my BuJo and some brush pens. May venture into a small pallet of watercolors, but unclear as to watercolor papers. Can you do or have you done a vid on papers? I'll search here in a bit but I'm needing brought up to speed on that area.
Okay, yell at me if you want. 😂 I totally would love to see you watercolour-journaling or memory-keeping in a Hobonichi (maybe the Cousin size - not necessarily the Weeks)! I don’t even have a Hobonichi but I’m really intrigued by the idea of mixed media journaling using watercolours. 💜 (PS - I also don’t know how to paint with watercolours, soooooo there’s that 😂)
Creeper alert. I LOVE YOUR HANDS! LOL Not really a creeper, but I figured you’d think it. One of my daughters had long extremities! (They mesmerize me! I’m a short stubby person with short stubby extremities!! LOL Oh yeah-focus ADHD kid. The pens are cool. I was glad to see you own the Arteza pens. It’s on my “to buy” list. Have an amazing weekend!!
I think having a new waterbrush added to the market is always a good thing. Yes there are some good ones out there and yes there are some bad ones. I have been looking at the Arteza set and wonder if you have tried those? They seem to have a set of 4 or 5 and I think they have these three in the set with a few variations of larger or smaller tips. :-0
I'm tempted but it seems that you can't squeeze them while drawing: you have to change your hand position, meaning stop painting. I too feel I've been, let's say drenched, or underwhelmed by Kuretake, Sakura, Pentel, Caran d'Ache, and the early ones that came out before Kuretake but are basically the same. So, these have what seems like yet another major design failure, and I won't buy them unless someone belies it.

I am not artsy at all... but I love cuss words so that’s why I’m here LOL.
I live for all the snickering you do at your words XD

I'm definitely getting these. As someone who had also been burned by waterbrushes, I'm so hype!
Can you show us how you do your paint blob flowers?

I was really happy with these brushes as well. Always love the tombow vip box.

Oh the flat pen would be good to fill in big space. I may need them for my projects. 🥰
Oh wow I didn’t know about the acrylic block I just used plastic bags
They “leak at the tip” 😎 heh heh heh
Love your videos so so sooooo much!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😍😍😍
Love this! Totally want to be artsy with my handlettering. Interested in watercolor.

I love all things watercolour. That's how I found your channel on the first place 🤣 Now you're stuck with me 😜
So glad you reviewed these! I was wondering :)
Review more watercolors! I personally use White Nights by St. Petersberg and I love them!

Girl thank you so much for your advice! I will definitely look into that, fingers crossed it works out!

Considering adding these to my collection I have the Pentel ones and may try these and maybe a combo would be perfect for travel
I assume you don't by chance have the Koi sakura or Pentel brushes as well, to tell me how they compare
When they leak all over you it’s being peed on! 😂
Absolutely love the 12 year old humor because It mean I’m not alone 😂😂😂
They look nice, especially the grip portion. But I won't be purchasing new water brushes anytime soon because I'm on a budget. 😭

By the way , 772 is from the skin tone pack. It’s my favourite tombow colour lol
hope patry it’s my favorite pink from the tombows. I love dusty dirty blush pinks
Why are there three black bindings and the rest white?
i've been trying to figure that out myself lol

snickersnickersnickerheh I love your frankness!
I find the videos but not the work sheets. Under llamas love lettering it says she's taking a break.
I see that your taking a well earned break from your lettering tutorial. I can't find and download your first 11. Can you guide me?
They should be under her playlist Llamas Love Lettering, they're still up.

LMAO thru most of this!
