The EA app is horrendous, its already so unstable and fundamentally broken so the fact they didn’t prepare for it to not function properly when they’ve been saying this the biggest update for the sims for like FOUR MONTHS is crazy, like EA deadass lied about shutting down origin to make us switch over to a broken app I’m dead 😭
i hate that app so much! they pretty much forced me to use it. one day i tried logging into origin and it kicked me out and gave me the link to download the EA app. i had to wait like 2 hours before i could even download the infant update 😵💫
@@hbjasonlolwhen it crashed, i opened the game from my files and it started updating. but then it took like 20 minutes to download? first it needed to download, then install, then implement in the game? with origin it was all one or two processes, but i think they split it up?
Parenthood and Growing Together being two separate packs is kinda wild to me. Also, in my game the high chair seems to work fine for infants but is still crappy for my toddlers? Idk if it's just me
I feel like depending on other peoples introductions it should either make it high right away or not make it as high because the other sim sees them as uppity

All I could think about while watching the sims 4 new infants content was amanda's old sims videos that show amanda literally ON RECORD, predicting that the sims team would make us pay for MUCH NEEDED family dynamic updates.
Listen, my sims need to LOOK a certain way. And by that I mean, not like an acid wash version of Sims 2. I tried to go vanilla, but I like chocolate better and had to accept defeat.😂
I only dislike that the infants learning skills are behind Growing Together and the bass game has NO CHANGING TABLE lmao so the diapers gets thrown on the floor. This is basically a demo of the pack. Other than that, I’m interested in learning more about the gameplay etc from smaller players.
Something ive started doing to help with guests using our pc's is to click on them and use the "computer security settings" and you can lock everyone but household members or just let a certain sim use the laptop.
Imma have my elders make a club and do scrabble, knitting… something. Tree houses for every family. My kids gonna have biking clubs to do tricks and ride around the neighborhood causing mischief. My teens are gonna be going on dates to the movies. I got so many plans….
my main thing about the world is that it just doesn’t make sense for a family pack. when i think san francisco, i think cities, business start ups, coffee houses. not domestic life. they really should’ve tried something more modern domestic, a place you’d understand like a couple settling down there to raise children. idk just think ea always wants to go for the the big cities but never wants to just have a cute little small town.

the high chair is fixed but the crib is the new high chair with annoyances. My sims won't put the baby to bed and if they do they immediately get them out of the crib if I don't micro manage/cancel actions constantly and even then it doesn't work. It's high chair 2.0.
What gets me is how easily impressed ppl are when we've playing with these qualities thanks to mod and content creators that better pay or have gotten permission to use their ideas for these recent packs and kits they just released. And you never buy the new release of NOTHING consumer wisdom 101. EA wont get not one red lincoln from me until I see the OG mod and content creators release their recolors, designs, and creations especially the 3D content to make it better. Because CC has been carrying tf outta TS4 😂😂
the kids now gain relationship faster with other kid sims and slower with teen and older sims. so that's something I guess. also the mid-life crisis starts with a moodlet that warns you of the mid life crisis
U should be fine with cc that doesnt affect the game. Example: clothing, skin detail, tattoos... The ones that can break the game if they arent updated are mods that change the game somehow, be traits, be mcc, etc.. So yeah!! get all those pretty cc
Yeah mostly the script mods, the cc should be fine but not with this update. All people have to do is copy and back them all up in a new mods folder on the desktop. Then turn off mods before updating

I didn’t know before that the baby food didn’t help the hunger but that does actually make sense to me because when you first introduce baby food, the baby is still getting almost all their nutrients from milk, the solid food is more so getting them used to tastes and textures as well as to make sure they don’t have any allergies. Honestly am not sure the sims team actually took this into account, though, and just did whatever was easiest for them.

this… still hate the gap between child and elder. All we asked for was for updated babies that were not locked to a crib and they give us an entire new life stage, which I’m not mad about but the one life stage I’ve heard simmers asking for is pre teens and we’ve gotten toddlers, now infants but nothing on preteens.
I would recommend the preteen mod, I have always felt like it was missing, and this helped. They initially go to middle school after turning into a teen. And all teens are shorter with the mod.
HSY is sooooooo... im yet to get invites from friends to sneak out, prom happens every week, my sim cant go to graduation.. the events at school are glitched and just plain BORING. whenever i try to play with it i just get sad.. i dont like university but that one is like the perfect pack next to hsy, seriously. only things that work are CAS and BB.

The difference between a generic lot and the Rec Center is npc sims will actually spawn at the rec center and use the items. Personally I never use generic lots because I want to interact with other Sims.
Certain furniture can break your game unfortunately :( same with default eyes & skins as well as presets and sliders. But hairs, skin details, clothing, etc should be fine no matter what!

I HATE the likes and dislikes system as it pertains to decor because I always go for this one townie every time I start a new game and inevitably he hates every piece of furniture in my house and it ruins his whole gd day for some stupid reason.
Hey Amanda, just wanted you to know High School Years is not that broken, it is enjoyable and I play on console which may be the difference but the only glitch I experience is during prom when I have my sim dance with their date they walk and dance outside instead of on the dancefloor, I thought I messed it up by building my own auditorium but I have all the requirements and the other teen NPCs dance on the dancefloor but besides that glitch it's a great pack, I always follow my teen to school, of course I built my own school too cause EA's was corny lol
I have both EPs. I really enjoy High School Years, it’s not that buggy. The only things that I don’t like about it are 1) there are only like 6 teens per class which feel very unrealistic and the school doesn’t have a lot of students at the same time so again it feels a bit empty. There’s probably no more than 20 sims at once in the school! 2) After school activities are rabbit holes 3) As the classe have so few students, all your teens in all the worlds won’t be in the school, and it’s always the same ones that come. Sometimes I will see one of my sims from a household I’m not currently playing at school but their sibling isn’t. 4) While in class, all your sims can do is…..sit on their butt. You can’t like, take notes, slip notes to other sims, chat, listen etc That’s my main issues with it. It’s still great to have it though.
i forgot which mod it is but there is one where you can assign what sims go to school, you can do way more than 6. i think 20?? don’t quote me. it’s a good mod and helps my storylines!!
i neeeed EA to start going back to old games and looking at what the fans loved. Generations was an amazing ep and had stuff for literally every generation, it will never be topped but A LOT of it could’ve been added to TS4
Excited for the pack (if it’s not gonna come out broken) the only bone i have to pick with the pack (so far) is the world.. how hard is it to make objects clickable? Like make them rabbit holes.. that’s fine. but a world that’s just a prop is… typical for the sims unfortunately. hopefully the gameplay makes up for it
Now Growing Together. I’m still discovering it, there are things I like and things I don’t. For instance : Teens are completely neglected (sure, they just got an EP but still), there’s nothing specifically for them really and that kinda sucks.

I can't really play a scandalous age gap relationship without using an elder and wish I had middle age to do it. I'm not mad about the new life stage but I feel there's an even bigger gap between adult-elder and even chid-teen. But they chose to bridge the smallest gap.
Atp they have to pull the plug cause how are they dishing out half baked DLC when the base of the game, the code of the game, the actual core is broken😭😭
10:09 periodt cuz i wanna use high chairs for storytelling and accuracy purposes for my dutiful parents. i like that the toddlers can just grab for busy parents stories, or for deadbeat parents. or if they are independent toddlers! but cmon EA. the high chair is broken as hell. guess it fits right into the Sims 4 franchise.
High School Years works fine for me. I think the broken games are more effected by mods, not the game itself. I use MCCC, UI cheats and Slice of Life. All of those worked fine with HSY. I also have Growing Together, now. It's working fine for me, but I've only reinstalled MCCC.
I feel like the game is just going to be completely broken just like when I updated the sims 4 for the infants (without cc or any mods) and it was completely broken…

when sims 3 gave us generations one pack for the same price or less as high school years parenthood and now growing together
My favorite part of parenthood is having sims with good manners give polite introductions bc it makes the friendship bar high right away
Also if you have the emotional control one then your bad moodlets don’t last as long, and you can do things to lower it quickly.
also with manners they’ll autonomously clean up dishes so you don’t have to tell them to 🥰

I could not play the sims without mods 😩.I think once you start downloading Black cc and mods you will be addicted.It takes the game to another level.

Just fyi sims 4 cc and mods are different things, stuff like hair clothes furniture etc is usually not going to break your game dw!!

1) there are only like 6 teens per class which feel very unrealistic and the school doesn’t have a lot of students at the same time so again it feels a bit empty. There’s probably no more than 20 sims at once in the school!
2) After school activities are rabbit holes
3) As the classe have so few students, all your teens in all the worlds won’t be in the school, and it’s always the same ones that come. Sometimes I will see one of my sims from a household I’m not currently playing at school but their sibling isn’t.
4) While in class, all your sims can do is…..sit on their butt. You can’t like, take notes, slip notes to other sims, chat, listen etc
That’s my main issues with it. It’s still great to have it though.
i forgot which mod it is but there is one where you can assign what sims go to school, you can do way more than 6. i think 20?? don’t quote me. it’s a good mod and helps my storylines!!
i neeeed EA to start going back to old games and looking at what the fans loved. Generations was an amazing ep and had stuff for literally every generation, it will never be topped but A LOT of it could’ve been added to TS4

how hard is it to make objects clickable? Like make them rabbit holes.. that’s fine. but a world that’s just a prop is… typical for the sims unfortunately.

For instance : Teens are completely neglected (sure, they just got an EP but still), there’s nothing specifically for them really and that kinda sucks.
Aaaah, the person who's sims video I was waiting for! Carl's sims guides made a mod for dine out that fixes it. I'd definitely recommend it! This will be the first time imma buy a pack fill price 😅

So glad to see a Sims discussion video from you!! Personally I would have preferred middle age adults over infants. I can't really play a scandalous age gap relationship without using an elder and wish I had middle age to do it. I'm not mad about the new life stage but I feel there's an even bigger gap between adult-elder and even chid-teen. But they chose to bridge the smallest gap.
Atp they have to pull the plug cause how are they dishing out half baked DLC when the base of the game, the code of the game, the actual core is broken😭😭

10:09 periodt cuz i wanna use high chairs for storytelling and accuracy purposes for my dutiful parents. i like that the toddlers can just grab for busy parents stories, or for deadbeat parents. or if they are independent toddlers! but cmon EA. the high chair is broken as hell. guess it fits right into the Sims 4 franchise.

High School Years works fine for me. I think the broken games are more effected by mods, not the game itself. I use MCCC, UI cheats and Slice of Life. All of those worked fine with HSY. I also have Growing Together, now. It's working fine for me, but I've only reinstalled MCCC.
I feel like the game is just going to be completely broken just like when I updated the sims 4 for the infants (without cc or any mods) and it was completely broken…
