However, pretend for a moment that electric vehicles were required to generate their own electricity with mini fossil-fuel-burning power plants onboard. Electric vehicles would still be more efficient and burn less fossil fuels than regular cars because they can recapture their kinetic energy back into the battery while braking and going down hills. This type of vehicle exists by the way. It’s called a hybrid. And it’s more efficient than a pure internal combustion engine vehicle for exactly this reason.
The reason electric vehicles are still better than hybrids is due to the fact that clean energy sources already account for over 40% of electricity generation in the US, and that number will only continue to rise

I'd be picking senators' teeth from my knuckles, but Buttigieg says things like "I'm getting the sense that this is becoming an attempt to discredit..." rather than "I knew you'd be spouting propaganda & petro-inspired barbs rather than taking this seriously, so...".
When he produced the flights detail, the look on that hillbilly Burlison's face - and of course while Buttigieg was answering, politely, hillbilly Burlison's drawling out "people of mah distree-ict can't afford t'take no tree-ips", as though Buttigieg is somehow being rewarded by flying coach 638 times in a g.d. year. Buttigieg could be making millions in the private sector with his intellect & charisma, but instead he's flying coach so these old bribe-laden vultures won't have any meat to chew on during these hearings.
The absolute least they can do is let him answer. Those bloated hicks wouldn't know what flying coach even means.
