- This is a play through of Souls of Destiny, a full game length story mod of Final Fantasy Tactics. This is an alternate universe story in which many of the original characters still feature in important roles.
In addition to a new story, it contains dozens of new sprites, new maps, new spell effects and music imported from other games.
Currently this is a beta version and has some spelling errors, events that need some cleaning up and the Deep Dungeon isn't complete.

Just finished this game last night. Absolutely fantastic and a wonderful sequel to FFT.
I hope if a FF Tactics Remaster comes out for PC we can get a lot of mods like this.
Current Square are far away of competent game devs so I would not expect a good remake from them.
I just got my new computer I can't wait to dive into these stories!
Might have to give this a go once I'm done with fft: Valeria. Loving Valeria so far. More challenging than the og, VERY well balanced compared to the original. Random battles aren't random, so you can get to that next story mission w/e you want, even from the other side of the map. You get to choose when and what map you want to play without having to go back and forth until a random triggers. Click on green dots = fight. Click on blue = basically a fast travel. Especially great when grind errands for jp!

I’m surprised that there’s another mod for FFT. The only two I knew years ago were 1.3 and Journey of the 5.
There is something like a dozen or more out there! This one actually started around the time of Jot5, but was a longer development period.

That would be too unbalanced, thus boring. Ramza is perfect as he is in vanilla game.
As a Dark Knight in the PSP and mobile versions he's more than good enough.
Milk Gafgarion for knightswords (unlock Ninja with carry over JP and level him to 99, then lower his levels with a Mind Flayer, and Catch the thrown knightswords) and Dark Knight Ramza with Excalibur will moider Chapter's 2 and 3 (not that he doesn't anyway).

@@freman007 I don't disagree with you, you're right it's just his actions being so pure made me always think he was the perfect candidate for Holy Knight, or Holy Swordsman, or like his father- Heavenly Knight. Lol it wasn't about making the game easier with me, just interested me was all :)

You haven't played it. It's a mod with an entirely different story- essentially an alternate universe.

However, the most recent version will play on duckstation, which is most people's preferred emulator: github.com/stenzek/duckstation. I''m a little in the dark about playing these classic games on pc...I imagine I need to get the game and use an emulator? Then download the mod? Or can I get the full modded version without an emulator?
You have to acquire them separately and patch the original rom with the patch. Distributing a pre-patched version is sort of a no-no.

That Ramza sprite needs work. His eyes are just a pixel too far apart, and it makes him look very dumb and derpy.
Why are we playing the tower of fanatics theme?
Just a big fan of FF6 music and I felt it set a tone.
Just finished killing that purple god enemy (forgot her name). Game glitched out on me and made my leader have 1 health, no turns and 0 stats on everything.

The best emulator is probably psxfin.
If you give a boss a skill , that hit all enemies in the screen and do good damage, they fight will result boring and predictable... Reason why square almost never do something like that.
And the magic that had similar effect in FFT have been removed. Also Calculator have been given shitty stats for the same reason, only player can abuse it, not the Ai.
A pity tho, the sprite are cool, i would have liked to see more skill variety from "the boss" , counters etc.
Oddly enough, Ramza doesn't normally use that move terribly often and felt important (cool enough, at least) to include in a video.
There is actually a flag that effects ai abilities so that they don't speak them. It's also a consideration that the mp cost of that spell limits it to 2 or 3 uses per battle without healing. All sword skills in this mod actually have mp costs.
@@conmanplays1557 Considering the player had white magic on almost all of their characters lists, I feel it important to point out that maybe, just possibly your mod over-uses "Kill them from across the map" skills.
@@geraldstacy3658 That's fair to say. I think that creeps up a bit as the game goes on as well. I had some trouble balancing 1v5 matches for sure. Battles that include minions seemed much easier to balance.

This video series was meant as a playthrough to both show off and as an easy reference to find text problems and such. The current release is only a couple of days old and should be considered complete.

I find it crazy Ramza let Delita just say whatever. Like when he said something like "Get in my way and Ill kill you" I WANTED SO BADLY for Ramza to respond with something like "I'd like to see you try" Is it so bad for sometimes the hero to have a bit of 'badass' in him??

All the content creator did was utilize and edit assets with files already in the game and insert their stories. You could make gafgarion and algus (this right?) freaking protagonists if the modders wanted. You're comparing apples to oranges...
