An underrated player for the leafs was Niemela. Had 5 assists in 2 games and was the leafs most reliable 2 way defensemen. Great puck IQ and smooth skater
Heh. So the Blues - playing without Snuggerud, Stenberg, Lindstein and Jiricek - demolish Chicago and Minnesota (two of the very best prospect pools in the league) by a 10-4 combined score... and you completely ignore them. Classic Grav.
Sharks prospects top to bottom looked like men playing boys! 16-7 goal differential and swept the rookie tournament. And the one close game (3-2) they outshot their opponent 47-22
Yes but they are playing all of their prospects how do you think the hawks or ducks would do if they played Bedard/ korchinski or Anaheim playing Carlson
@@HawksFan. double check, no Askarov, Celebrini only played 1 game, Smith only 2. Mukhamadulin and Chernyshov didn’t play, LSW was in Sweden still, Lund in college couldn’t participate. So no sharks weren’t playing all their top 20 prospects. And if Bedard gets to play so would Eklund! So still think sharks dominated.
I went to one of the Montreal vs Leafs and watched the other one on tv and I was very happily surprised by Hutsons defensive awareness and his good stick. Although he’ll never be a defensive stud I don’t think it’ll be nearly as much of an issue as people seem to be making it out to be
As someone who went to bothe Habs leafs games, most of the main leafs guys were as expected besides Niemala who was a bit disappointing even with the 5 assists. Now for the habs. Guys like Hutson, Reinbacher, Mailloux, Farrell & Heineman were all pretty much as expected. Mesar was the main let down he just didnt look great but now for the standouts. Thorpe looked surprisingly great playing on rhe 3rd line got a couple goals and just looked all around solid. Engstron was amazing as a 2 way guy, offensive possesion and th best was his transition game. Finally the best one was Beck, he just looks like such a high floor defensive player that does everything right. He made so many perfect passes right on the tape in the slot to guys finding them in traffic. Absolutely lov back as an elite 3C of the future at worst
I disagree with that niemela was actually a standout for me. His transitional skating alongside his puck moving ability was the best out of every defenceman there outside of hutson. He looks very good just not sure if he's physically ready but he's close.
@@ajiboy1919 maybe I got affected by the first game, he did look a bit better in the 2nd one. But he seemed to be missing th mark with a lot of his passes and not handling the blue line too well
There's that kid named Pano Fimis who played for Columbus as an invitee and I thought he was phenomenal defensively as a center. I'd like to see him get an AHL deal, ight be something there.
The Senators were outscored something like 156-2 in this tournament but to be fair Ottawa has traded away so many 1st round draft picks that the cupboard is pretty bare. Cheers from Ottawa.
Not surprised the Sens were terrible their roster had 12 ATOs, was surprised Ostapchuk and Bourgault weren't there considering how weak the offensive group was and they are still younger than half the players at these showcases. The only players that impressed me on Ottawa were Donovan and Halliday. Donovan's defensive play was very solid strong skater and hard worker and Halliday was literally the only player creating anything offensively which wasn't surprising because that offensive group they brought was mostly ATOs
who were the guys that were physical, blocked shots and showed nhl 3rd-4th line qualities or defenseman seemed to have the highest IQs and skating ability?
Too bad Sennecke is injured and Solberg is playing in Europe, but Guthier and Luneau have looked very good for the Ducks...especially Gauthier. Cutter is a shoo-in to make the team but I wouldn't be surprised if Luneau makes the squad especially if Fowler gets traded.
Honestly it was hard to tell. Had a good second game, but he also made some pretty sloppy turnovers. That said the team is very thrown together so he should be fine in the AHL this year and then probably getting a call up similar to what Bolduc got last year.
I like Thorpes play for the Habs. But was disappointed to watch the biggest guy on the ice just stand there after Hutson was given a cheap shot. Sore nose or not you put that guy on his ass.

quentin musty is mvp of the entire tournament guy looks like hes playing 14 year olds lol 9 points in 3 games
I watched him for 3 years in Sudbury may be a year or two away but he's going to be a great player ❤
@stephaneleblanc-i7m yeah he needs another year in the ohl and some time in the ahl but he will be a good player
There are like 6 tourneys going on so it’s hard to compare tourney to tourney
He would be perfect for the A this year shame the stupid rule will force him to play in a league he is too good for
He has more points then the whole oilers team 😭😭😭
Sharks looked on another lvl
I only watched the game yesterday but damn ya they looked pretty tough
They had the most high draft picks on their team in the tournament
@@Jonesyful10Celebrini only played one game & Askarov didn’t play at all. Smith was there but he wasn’t the star, it was more Musty & Cagnoni
Tyler Torpedo and is line of Tuch and Xhekaj was so fun to watch
That line must've been frightening to face lol. Three huge dudes
@@milesbaillie1011 dirty underpants for sure hahaha
Cutter's a stud and wouldn't be shocked if Luneau makes the team again out of camp
You forgot one. 18 year old phenom. Teen sensation Mario Armia!!!

I'm a habs fan, but I have to say Topi Niemela looked pretty darn good in these games
It's tough to find coverage/reporting on this tournament - thank you for making this video!
The only thing stopping Luchanko from getting into the season already is his age. One year and he will be in the team in some way.
Thorpe and Florian could be huge steals for montreal

Stromgren honestly played really well. Was one of the Flames best players with Morton.
Seems like you really love the blues and their prospects!
Is this sarcasm?
He's a salty Stars fan who just cannot bring himself to give the Blues due credit.

Not even a jets fan but I’ve gotta say. Other fans have really gotta pay attention to Brad lambert. Debatably most underrated prospect in hockey

He didn't forget them, he ignored them, because if he mentioned them he'd have to compliment them. Not man enough to do it.
I'm now a big fan of Logan Mailloux and Hutson !
I love Mailoux’s game and want you guys to sour on him and trade him to the sharks for Bordeleau and a 2nd lol.

Maveric Lamoureux and Cole Beaudoin looked great for Utah
They really be sleeping on Jett Luchanko Grav
Not where he was picked lol😂
Love the random Leo Carlsson with the C in the thumbnail?
Steady Sharks fans.... Steady. Things are looking good, but we're still a ways off. But so far, the boxes keep being checked.
No clue who he is, but Larose with the Canadiens was good too
DEAGAN MCMILLIN❤️❤️❤️
Why would Cole perfetti signing impact lambert lol. Cole’s literally a winger. Lambert will be 2C out of camp
How do the stars loose to the redwings
Jones Jason Thompson Daniel Anderson George
