Please post a video about How each new draft pick in the 24 draft helps their team. For example, why did they pick him, what position did they need, can he help them now or later, What led the team to needing this player, was it bad signings or small market and can’t get big names. Please and thank you 👍🏾🙏🏾💪🏾
i appreciate the fact that you are respectful towards the players, even the "fail"s. the reality is that even the worst of these players is exceptionally good at hockey. too many such lists just mock people who haven't reached their potential, etc.
11:05 Nyquist played pretty well for the Sharks too! He put up 11 points in 20 games in the playoffs in 2019-20 for us (and 11 in 19 games in the regular season) after we picked him up at the TDL. That's 39 whole games, almost half a regular season's worth!
Galchenyuk started out amazing was even a 30 goal scorer drugs and partying was the down fall of the kid. And it was a major issue in that locker during that time.
Man, Joe Colborne. Had that hat trick for Colorado after being traded, then did nothing afterwards. And I remember Pierre McGuire not shutting up about how great Ryan Strome would be during that draft. His greatest achievement has been somehow managing to stick around in the league
I'm so confused. What the hell is this list even about the players drafted in 2012? Or during the year 2012. The nhl out out a top 50 prospect list and this is that list?
It's based on a Bleacher Report article that was written shortly after the 2012 draft, the link is in the description. Basically those where the players who were considered the most promising prospect of the NHL at that moment. At least according to the writer...
Not a weak draft. Surely most of players drafted dont succeed, for various reasons. But players like Mark Stone, Chris Kryder, Mark Scheifele, Mika Zibanejad, VladimirTarasenko, Dougie Hamulton, Jonathan Huberdeau, Mikael Granlund and Evgeny Kuznetsov were drafted on that year. Well, some of these top guys did not deliver every year or faded , but still.
Don't get mad at me, it took me so long to realize that these weren't the top 50 picks in 2012. I wrote a whole paragraph about how I felt insane about your picks.
I've seen Rattie playing a bunch of games in Timrå Ik in SHL and i can't understand why he wasn't successful in the NHL. I've seen Swedes who i believe aren't as talented become really solid NHL players. Maybe it's the mindset that makes the difference between these players. Anyway he has had some great seasons over here and we're happy to have him in our league. Maybe a fail in the NHL but certainly not in the SHL. The SHL is better than most North Americans realize and the league has produced many grreat NHL players. Thabks for list it was interesting to me!
I remember this draft from the "Toronto Maple Leafs: A Half Century of Failure" video by UrinatingTree from Tyler Biggs, since Toronto traded up with Anaheim to take Biggs 22nd. "Tyler Biggs turns into a fringe player who can't crack a roster...in the AHL..I mean it sucks, but c'mon the picks we traded to Anaheim only turned into Rickard Rakell....aaaaaand John Gibson"
Players Like Bjugstad and Armia are underrated. Hockey isnt only about scoring goals and getting assists. It seemed to me thay your main judgement if the player was a bust or not was based on how many points they scored. Not every player is expected to score over 40 points. Just because you are drafted in the frist round does not mean your expected to be playing on the first line, or face of the franchise. After the first 10 picks. Your trying to get the best player for your situation. Charlie Coyle having dressed 867 games alone makes him better then a "good player" the fact that Girgensons didnt even make the list is shocking. 688 games career high 30 points. He is no Star, but 100% a "good" player. But his stats show him being "meh" or a "bust". The grinders need love too. The stars wouldnt get those numbers without them.
de Haan regularly played 20 ish mins a night in Carolina and Chicago and was never worse than a -9 in that stretch. Considering how terrible Chicago was he is definitely not a meh defender. At a time he was one of the better guys you could have on your 2nd pair.
@@Jman-cx4bd since when is 48 games with a .905 "Vezina tier”? It was a good bounce back after being awful last year, overall in his career hes been very good boarding on star but last season firmly plants him in good tier imo
@@nonoman305 he was 7th in gsax among players with over 40 games and was top two basically the whole season until calgary blew it up and sold everyone.
Markstrom is exactly a good goalie, and I'm a Flames fan. Look at his career reg season and playoffs stats and he's remarkably average. I think losing to Edmonton in round 2 broke him a bit because he has been really inconsistent since that series
Dude I remember watching Ty Rattie absolutely ravaging in the WHL as a kid. I always thought he was gonna be an amazing NHL player and then he became essentially nothing and i was very disappointed 😢 Same with Sven Bartschi
Dude, Brendan Smith was unironically a fucking huge talent when the wings first brought him up. He played 1st pairing with Lidstrom and looked like he belonged there. Sad that he regressed so much. I think the booze might've been a factor (I know multiple people who saw him at bars during like playoff series'...)
I could not possibly disagree with you more on Klefbom. Sure injuries ruined his career, but he was still a legit #1 dman for 4 years (and a top 4 dman the 3 prior). I can maybe see the argument for dropping him to good because it was only a 7 year career but meh? That makes me think you didn’t really watch him play
Can say I agree with your goods they are mostly mehs like Namestnikov, Rackell, most of them are just meh Tara is also not a Hofer so deff agree with that
This was an opinion ranking of the listed top 50. He was grading the players who were ranked as the top 50 prospects of 2012. Apparently Kuch and Reilly weren't rated as top 50 prospects back then. It wasn't to do with 2012 draft picks either.
Stoner! Such a beaut! It hurt to see him leave Ottawa but I was really happy to see him win the cup last year. Let’s hope he has another insane post-season run!
Wow I thought Tarasenko was Zibanejad’s and Scheiffele’s grandpa, yet they’re from the same era??? Congrats to vladi on another cup and contributions he made during the run… but man he looks and skates like an old dog ready to be put to pasture. Even Kuzy still looks like a kid even tho he’s all washed up and out of the league
Good thing it's about the top 50 ranked prospects in the year 2012, not about any specific draft, just at that time, the top 50. Pretty simple to wrap your head around mate.

Ik it’s the script but the “This guy is one of the most interesting players in this draft” on every other player is killing me
As a Sens fan it makes all the mlre sense that korpisalo was taken in the 2012 draft.
He's the MOST 2012 draft pick of all time haha

Great Video, Nathan. I usually don't watch Draft things, but, I gave it a shot. Keep up all the good work
Every time I hear the name Joe Colborne, I think the same thing, and any Avs fan knows exactly what I mean. "Yeah, he had a good game."
Great video - you should do more of these!
Do more of these!
Love the Pokémon battle revolution music, and the vids keep it up
I thought it was Pokémon colosseum
As an Oilers fan I don't want to discuss Yakupov OR Griffin Reinhart
Mark Stone such a beauty still my favourite player was so sad when the Sens let him go when he would've stayed in Ottawa
Should've been a lifetime Senator, in his prime with them he was one of my favorites
That cheap bastard melnyk lost a ton of good players because he's a cheapskate. Stone, Zibanejad, Pageau, Ben Bishop, and plenty more I'm sure
Battle Revolution music hits hard🔥
One of Toffoli's greatest weaknesses is a lack of great speed, especially in the skating department lol. What other type of speed would he need ? 😅
I don't know.... hands? Decision making?
Speed when he glides? When he reaches for that extra piece of pie? I dunno.
I feel like there should be a tier between “good” and “meh.” Something like, “all right.”
Man, Joe Colborne. Had that hat trick for Colorado after being traded, then did nothing afterwards.

He was great for the Rangers idk what you're sayin
@@NewDesignVinylGraphics he fit well in Lavi's system. He's a dud as a top-centering guy, as his two-way game remains atrocious
Overall weak draft...
You do réalise this is the top 50 prospects from 2012 right ? Example : palmier I was drafted in 2009 goofy
guys from 2011 2010 09 08 are on this list
This wasn't a draft
I need to know the music you used for this.

Ya it’s a confusing title. It’s not about the 2012 draft but about the top prospects around that time
