I had Samsung for years then switched over when Pixel 5 came out. I did get the S24 Ultra though but didn't like it all all - camera to fiddly, UI too clunky, Google Photos AND Gallery?!?!? So, I traded it in for a Pixel 9pro xl - only had it a few days but no regrets. One thing I really like about Pixel is the speech to text on Gboard - works brilliantly! That makes my S Pen redundant most of the time - all I used the pen for was jotting down thoughts etc.
Thank you so much, man! That really, really means a lot. It takes a considerable amount of time making these, haha, so comments like yours mean a lot. More to come! 😁
Nice review. You covered some new bases in the review experience as compared to other reviewers. Nice work. The Pixel 8 and 9 series both support an external desktop mode. It has to be turned on in developer settings and it is bare bones as compared to any commercial desktop mode ...but it does exist.
It feels like most phone reviews are 50% camera reviews these days. Yet most people use camera's far less than consuming media, messaging, phone calls, navigation, gaming. Etc.
Another thing people don't mention is the fact that people use their phones for work too. It's very tech oriented in the work industry, so some people actually do play mobiles games and stream for a living. Not to mention delivery drivers and mobile content creators.
Welcome back from vacation! Hope yal had a great time! Love the new pixels with what they have done aesthetically but the chip is what still makes me weary. I had the pleasure of daily driving the pixel 8 Pro and it was amazing but battery life + meh chip was kind of a put off. Of course regular users will NOT notice any hiccups on daily tasks and even multi-tasking but for techies it is unsettling knowing that what you have under the hood is not quite up there. Other than that, love the design, camera bump, and improvements they did make but for now I will be sticking with the Galaxy Ultra especially with OneUI 7.0 on the horizon with their "dynamic island" implementation.
and forgot to add: not being able to remove the search bar on the bottom and the "at a glance" sucks. ps. just thought how crazy this design with the custom roms is going to be! Shit...maybe ill just...nvm #GalaxyFam lol

Hey, Joseph! Great to see you again, thank you! I had a lot of fun making this video. I would like to do it this way more often, it's just life is so hectic and lots of time constraints so it's harder to do it this way (at least until I move to doing this full time.... hopefully soon!)
Let me start off by saying," You blessed us with another banger". I love the new Pixel's design, but a little worried about the chip. Even tho i rock the s24 ultra, I'm eyeing the Pixel.. lol
I've been a Pixel user for the past seven years, and I usually keep my phones for 4 to 5 years. Samsung is my first choice when it comes to longevity and hardware but Pixel's usability in day to day tasks is really good. For example, I can take a screenshot without pressing buttons, I can copy paste texts or pictures from the recent app menu without taking any screenshots. Pixel offers the best usability in Photos app as well, I believe Samsung does not let you choose Photos app to be set as default. Moreover, Pixel is unbeatable when it comes to computational photography and makes tasks smooth. I'm only confused because Pixel looks taller with an ugly 19:5 aspect ratio whereas S24 Ultra looks timeless and strong.
Dope video as always brother! Man I’m on the fence between the new Pixel Fold and the 9 Pro XL, I just don’t wanna take that hit in camera quality if I go with the Fold.
I promise I have and love both. I have the fold 4 256 and just got the 9 Pro XL in porcelain 256. My sim is in the pixel and in loving it moving from the 6 pro.

What I love about the Pixel is the actual phone itself. I have a 7 pro and it automatically doesn't let spam calls get through and it always shows the full name or companies of who's calling even if their not saved, for the Samsung I have to pay extra for Verizon call filter pro just for that same thing.
The first 2 days I regretted buying pixel pro xl but then I felt really happy with this phone .too good for me. Battery life increased a lot, I think it takes time to understand the daily usage. Actually, the first 30-35% of the battery drops very fast and then it drops very very slowly.

One of my friends picked up a Pixel 8 Pro in June to replace his aging Pixel 4 and now I kinda wish I told him to hold off for a couple more months for this phone to launch especially now that you can get the full fat Pixel specs in the smaller size as he prefers smaller phones generally.

#TeamSamsung I will admit that the pixel 9 pro XL is a very impressive phone. Google just needs to update their chip and/or lower the price. If the price was 200 less it would definitely be a flagship killer.
If you cant ve the battery champ with les power, there is no point to have less raw power for the same price, here you can get a s24u 256 gb for 850 dolars VS pixel for 1350 dolars.
Team 🌌 but I wish the ultra would come in a smaller form factor as how google has the 9 pro and pro xl. I'm over big phones, so I'm thinking about trying pixel for the 1st time.
As much as i love my google devices the 9 pro XL just cant compete with the s24 ultra. Between the crappy zoom on the pixel, lack of Spen and of course the tensor its just out classed. I still use my 7 pro for work and love it and do have a 9 pro fold on order so im definitely a google fan but the 24 ultra is the king of slab phones
Great to see you again! This is a really fair standpoint! Google does a really great job with their phones but there are some things that the 24U just does better for sure. Although I do quite love the Pixel experience!
I switched over from an iPhone a few days ago and got the Pixel 9 pro after a decade of sticking with Apple. Looks/feels similar to an iPhone and has the best camera for an android. Very happy with it.
@@gerardomanriquez8206 The only other Apple product I owned was AirPods. Noticed it doesn't work well with other brands however such as my Asus laptop. Already have an order for the Pixel Buds Pro 2.
my dad found a hole in gemini as well. he was talking with it about pi, different facts and such. then asked where he could go to get a meat pie nearby. gemini thought he was trying to "meet pi" and went on a seemingly endless loop until it was literally spelled out for gemini. very impressive ai but sooooo far from where it needs to be. i asked it for shaded parking lots, something that most people could halfway recall, and ai could scower images of nearby parking lots for info on, but it brought back just parking lots. i may be expecting too much, but that excentricity is where ai needs to be to actually be daily useful and mass adoptable.
I've been a pixel fan ever since it was called the Nexus but now Samsung has finally caught up to the camera quality of the pixel and I no longer feel the need to keep an underperforming device just because of the camera. But in all honesty pixel 9 pro will surely be a great device and majority of people won't have an issue with it, it's just heavy users the ones that actually noticed any difference!
Pixel can handle the highlights at the expense of making the photos darker. It doesn't lift the shadows. On the gloomy day or cloudy weather day pictures coming from the pixel are just darker than necessary
Returned my pixel 9 pro xl today, sad, but my experience was horrible due to a faulty camera lense, but just ya, not a good experience coming from the s22 ultra.... I'll wait for the 10 and try again. Also, its optimized very poorly for a lot of apps and cuts the screens off worse than any phone I've ever seen.
When you mention battery life, do you listen to music all day or no? I have the ultra, and I average around 6 hours per day with Spotify being on pretty much like 9 hours a day
4:40 I've been rocking both iPhones and Pixels since the Pixel 4, and now I'm up to the Pixel 8. Sure, on paper, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra might have flashier specs than the Pixel 9 Pro XL, just like in previous years. But honestly, I keep coming back to Google. I guess I just like my phone to work without all the extra bloatware. Call it personal preference - I’m just here for the clean, plain vanilla stock OS, no-fuss experience! Just hope Google future Pixel comes with 100x digital zoom, 20x optical scumbag zoom, better OIS during video recording, better face recognition in low light environment such as at pitch black night room 😂 Samsung Knights: calm down, stand down and stand by 😊
Waiting for my Pixel 9 Pro (smaller model). I stop using big phones since the S23 Ultra. Actually, I gave the S23 Ultra to my brother. Yes, I gave it away. He's happy with it. I just prefer smaller phones.
I'm a little disappointed that I'm hardly getting anything out of Gemini Advanced because those things aren't supported in my region yet. I hope my year of free Advanced isn't over by the time it's coming here
I just got the S24 plus and I'm really glad I got it. I honestly think pixels need to move away from the Tensor chip. Glad to see content like this. Thanks David.
How is the video on the pixel for content creation purposes? I heard it looks choppy when you pan. Is it as good, better, or worse for the sole purpose of making RUclips videos compared to its competition?
#teampixel I had the fold and didn't like it. I'm coming from a iPhone and just wanted the phone to work. There's to much going on out the box for the Samsung devices. I feel right at home with the PIXEL. It's basically a Google iPhone
#pixel Gemini is great, but as you saw yourself it doesn't remember names from previous conversations. Just a basic greet you with your name, it never remembers when you start a new conversation. Hopefully Google are relaying feedbacks from Gemini to improve this.
With Gemini, if you go in and open that "chat" and then start the live, it should recall info from the conversation. I'm like 98% confident thats right. Great video tho!
Maximum frame rates is is not true. None of the phones can t even do medium settings on genshin impact without overheating, but the Samsung will be better in every game
@alexandrumacovei7174 Sorry! Technically not max since they can't do 120FPS like the IPhone can, but I'm able to do everything else Max at 60FPS on the Galaxy and it performs well. Better than the Pixel for sure. Good call!
I don't know if you've had the issue or not but my pixel is freezing 3 to 4 times a day, with the only fix being a forced 30s restart with all other buttons failing to respond with the screen being completely frozen but sound still playing
I can not wrap my head around people complaining the storage is not the fastest SSD technology compared to the S24 lineup it is one generation behind. Who is realistically taking advantage of that? Tech community complains how "cheap" it is for apple to make iPhones and their price tag is too high but all the R&D and software are amazing and worth the price. It is a similar situation here IMO with the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, the software is amazing and it even convinced me to switch my S24U to the 9 Pro XL.
Even if you don't care about faster storage, UFS 4.0 is more power efficient than 3.1. And faster storage is beneficial for RAM Plus. iPhone 15 has 60Hz screen. You can't tell us it's worth $1000 since 120Hz doesn't cost that much more to order. The only reason they did that is to force people to buy the Pro model. And Apple Intelligence doesn't even support the base iPhone 15 model. So much for the amazing software support.
6 hours SOT on the Samsung folding phone? That sounds impossible. I've never had more than four.. no matter what I try. I always have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on and a watch connected. But yeah I could never get that on my five or my six fold.. I also have the pixel 9 pro XL... Loving it so far!
Hahahah, I think the beauty is that both are awesome options and the "better" choice comes down to the minute details/options that are more relevant for you!
@@Landofhim I would say it's noticable on anything I play. Even with steam link and gamepass the frame rates aren't nearly as high as on the OnePlus 12 or the Ultra, heck even the 15pm is smoother. On dedicated game installs, I have dead cells and Marvel Strike Force. The fps are around 60-70 sometimes lower. They are almost never that low with the other two.
I own both phones. The pixel produces great photos portrait photos are great. It has been getting hot 🔥 at times when used heavily like GPS navigation or video recording but I don't Game. Battery life is about 7.5 hour's on-screen time. There a delays when editing pictures or setting Filters, or erasing object's. My wireless speed is 50% faster on my iPhone pro max 13 and on my s24 ultra. Another thing you need to understand is that the pixel software android version allows very little customisations out of the box. You can't change the icons without using the Nova launcher. This for me make's no sense. I don't buy a pixel to then have to use workarounds. You also can't remove the Google search bar on the bottom of my home screen or move it up. This is supposed to be android a customizable os. Honestly I prefer my iPhone 13 pro Max's customisations on ios18. The pixel XL 9 is not worth the price you can get the iPhone or s24 ultra which will be proper flagship devices. If you really want the pixel wait 6 months it will be half the price. If I was in your shoes I Get the s24 ultra you will not regret it. It will be great for everything.
One of the bad things about the Samsung is how after 2 years it loses most of its performance and optimization . I've seen multiple reviews and speed tests about s22 ultra (2 year old phone) and how it's unable to keep most apps open meanwhile pixel and iPhone can, it also can’t keep up with the animations, all android flagships and iPhone nailed this a long time ago meanwhile Samsung hasn't yet, and with every update they just become laggy. I also hate how the front facing camera gives a made out of wax look to the face meanwhile the rest of the S models and the foldables don't this. On top of that I've experienced a lot of overheating with my unit doing basic things, watching RUclips among them for more than three months and they don't care to fix it, I've complained about 15 times on Samsung members and 3 on send comments in the RUclips app, this doesn't happen at all on my 15 pro max. Those reasons among a few others are why I'm keeping the 15 pro max as my main device maybe Samsung with one UI 10 fixes all of these problems for a device that costed me ~1400€ with a snapdragon processor, I don't even want to think about how one with exynos would perform since they eventually wanna completely switch to exynos for all their devices to not pay Qualcomm for their chips and get more revenue
This actually is not true at all except for the s22 series. It's probably the worst Samsung release ever, but not the case for the s20,s21 or s23 series. The s22 is commonly known for terrible chip performance. The iPhone 15 pro was a certified hand warmer on release.
That's only the problem with the S22 series. My S10 plus still works well after 3 years. Plus, i'vs also owned Pixel 6 pro, and had a horrible experience right out of the box. I think you are kinda Pixel and Apple biased...
There's no " after 2 years " s22 series have been garbage since launch, 8gen1 is manufactured from Samsung it's as bad as an exynos that's why it's bad in all the aspects u talked about, but the phones with tsmc chips don't have such issues.

I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing. I have a MacBook which I barely use but have AirPods and Apple Watch so it holds me back a little 😅
@@gerardomanriquez8206 The only other Apple product I owned was AirPods. Noticed it doesn't work well with other brands however such as my Asus laptop. Already have an order for the Pixel Buds Pro 2.
The base size?
Fun fact: Your voice sounds really deep and soothing through the speakers of the XL.
Haha, I appreciate that!
Maybe I do like the XL more then 😏🤣
my dad found a hole in gemini as well. he was talking with it about pi, different facts and such. then asked where he could go to get a meat pie nearby. gemini thought he was trying to "meet pi" and went on a seemingly endless loop until it was literally spelled out for gemini. very impressive ai but sooooo far from where it needs to be. i asked it for shaded parking lots, something that most people could halfway recall, and ai could scower images of nearby parking lots for info on, but it brought back just parking lots. i may be expecting too much, but that excentricity is where ai needs to be to actually be daily useful and mass adoptable.
I'm definitely impressed
Just hope Google future Pixel comes with 100x digital zoom, 20x optical scumbag zoom, better OIS during video recording, better face recognition in low light environment such as at pitch black night room 😂
Samsung Knights: calm down, stand down and stand by 😊
If the pixel didn't have jerky scrolling it would be a win but they can't seem to get rid of that.
I did the dog thing with Gemini too. It's always Buddy!? It seems Gemini has a limited memory at the moment.
Waiting for my Pixel 9 Pro (smaller model). I stop using big phones since the S23 Ultra. Actually, I gave the S23 Ultra to my brother. Yes, I gave it away. He's happy with it. I just prefer smaller phones.
Pixel pro got desktop mode man (something like dex, but not sa good), you need to turn it on in developer settings and you can use it than!
How about productivity and multitasking? Could it survive against ZF6?
Already like you for showing off some Sparking Zero! Lol.
Fold. S24 U. Or the Pixel. Which is your daily driver!?
#teampixel I had the fold and didn't like it. I'm coming from a iPhone and just wanted the phone to work. There's to much going on out the box for the Samsung devices. I feel right at home with the PIXEL. It's basically a Google iPhone
I'm team pixel and Galaxy. Love em both for different reasons
Gaming split screen among a few other reasons why I still keep Samsung around
#pixel
Gemini is great, but as you saw yourself it doesn't remember names from previous conversations. Just a basic greet you with your name, it never remembers when you start a new conversation. Hopefully Google are relaying feedbacks from Gemini to improve this.
I see how you slipped in the fold 6 on the low lol, I own one myself what you thinking about the pixel 9 fold
Good call!
#TeamPixel 👾
I don't know if you've had the issue or not but my pixel is freezing 3 to 4 times a day, with the only fix being a forced 30s restart with all other buttons failing to respond with the screen being completely frozen but sound still playing
I just got my S24 Ultra last week, and it made me sad that the Pixel 9 Pro just came out. I've been a Google Pixel user for the last two years.😅
No surprise that Gemini hallucinated. In my work with LLMs it's absolute trash ...
#teampixel while watching with my pixel 9 pro xl
6 hours SOT on the Samsung folding phone? That sounds impossible. I've never had more than four.. no matter what I try. I always have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on and a watch connected. But yeah I could never get that on my five or my six fold.. I also have the pixel 9 pro XL... Loving it so far!
#teamboth I have the pixel 9 pro xl and the Samsung zfold 6 and love them both
I love it! Best of both worlds!
Pixel owners says Pixel is better and Samsung owners says Samsung is better.. so what is it😅
Hahahah, I think the beauty is that both are awesome options and the "better" choice comes down to the minute details/options that are more relevant for you!
Pixel should team up with apple and be called the pixel apple
Watching on my pixel 6 pro, waiting for the Samsung Galaxy s25 or the pixel 10pro.
Traded my Ultra 24 for the Pixel, happy with everything except the gaming. Camera and video are much much better. Great video fella
How much money did you get off the pixel when you traded in?
@@sparkylights6069 free, plus 200$ at best buy.
How bad was the gaming experience?
Camera and video are much better? Be so fr
Witch phone is better? P9pro XL or S24 Ultra.
@@cheesecake4you verry thanks for your words. I go for the s24 ultra then.
@@Sabakoe737 24у
S24 ultra is all complete , multi task fully. Real Smartphone . Pixel is better camera ?? Thats it.
Had my pixel 9 pro XL for a week. Coming from galaxy. Battery disappointing. Bluetooth have had issues with connectivity.
Can't recommend.
Hi there! Sorry your battery has been disappointing.
It's not as good as the Ultra, but definitely better than previous Pixels in my experience!
S24 Ultra is KING! But Pixel is really stepping up to the plate. #GalaxyFam
I agree! S24U is probably going to edge out overall for most people BUT the Pixel is suuuuuuper impressive and compelling!
Can compare but then you realize there is no comparison S24U 👑
#Unbiased aka love both equally
Great video! Go BIRDS!
Underrated Comment.
Which is why I Stick to iPhone.
THIS!
There's no " after 2 years " s22 series have been garbage since launch, 8gen1 is manufactured from Samsung it's as bad as an exynos that's why it's bad in all the aspects u talked about, but the phones with tsmc chips don't have such issues.
Is there a weird haze or fog on certain parts of this video or is it just me? (I'm swear I'm sober)
Hahahah at your last sentence.
Haze, hmmmm. I do sometimes soften the blacks a bit which can cause that I think! Not SUPER contrasty
@@DavidAVelez1 yea that's probably it. The blacks were more dark grayish..
