Hi, you are amazing people and take great care of your birds. I have an African grey and I want to take the best care I can of her.
Do you have a blog where you explain how you care for your parrots. Like my parrot is afraid of the spray bottle. And should I get her a flat perch to rest on?
    Appreciate any help.

Hi Jehan! Thank you for your lovely words! Unfortunately we don't have a blog, but our videos are mostly instructional and hopefully helpful for you! If your parrot is afraid of the spray bottle, you may try giving him/her a large bowl of water (wide, but not deeper than her legs) and spraying her little water from it using your fingers to see if she/he would dip in. Yes - I recommend any bird owner to get a flat perch!

Your lucky your birds eat pellets! All my parakeets (4) eat seed because I adopted them when they were older, so I didn't get to "train" them when they were babies. I am trying my best to switch them over. And that's cool you use ZuPreem, I use it too. But I am switching back to Lafeber;'s NutriBerries, which also is a good brand of bird food. I'm curious, do you feed your parrot's (spray) millet as a treat?
Update: my birds are now fully on pellets. I give them lettuce daily (that's the only veggie they'll eat). I give them millet as a treat in training and same with the seed. But I'm trying to get them to eat more. Also spinach is not good for budgies.

We do feed them millet to add fiber to their diets to prevent constipation. It depends on the composition of their diet at the time and whether we feel additional fiber would be helpful.
Good luck in transitioning. Nutriberries are great. There is one for elderly birds that has higher quality ingredients and has a larger pellet concentration than the others. We give that to our birds from time to time as well.

I actually disagree that Lafeber's NutriBerries are a good food and/or brand. I recommend that you give your budgies greens daily and a make sure that your seed blend is a rich mix vs. mainly millet. The more millet, they more limited their diet. Seed mix sold for canaries called "canary seed" actually has less millet then the mix sold for budgies. Budgies will eat the smaller seeds in the canary mix after they have eaten all the millet.

I'm happy you switched them onto pellets, very beneficial! and the thing about spinach is it is perfectly fine (WITH MODERATION).
to help with veggies id recommend placing similar green veggies or trying new things but sprinkle a few seeds and tiny chopped up veggie pieces to test out, because there's a high chance that if they eat the seeds they will try the food. Not the best idea but it worked for me and a few others i helped :)
      best of luck

I feed my cockatiel Zupreem Natural, but he doesn’t like it at all. I’m almost wondering if it’s too big or too hard, but I soaked them in warm water,(they smelled really bad) and he hated them soaked too. Do you have any advice?

Bell Iron Fist Zumpreem natural comes in different sizes - I would recommend trying the cockatiel one which comes in very tiny pellets! If that doesn’t work, then try mixing in a bit of Millets (broken apart). If you have a close bond with your parrots, put a bowl of zupreem between you and him, eat a pellet of zupreem yourself (it tastes quite good) and feed the next one to him, then repeat! There are a number of other strategies that we hope to make a video about sometime within the next few months, but I hope these initial steps work for you. If t doesn’t, you might have to start with fruit flavoured ones or coloured ones, then gradually introduce the natural ones with the goal of switching to them completely eventually

Flock of Five Okay, thanks for the advice! I will eat it for him 😂 And we are going to also try the smaller pellets and if that doesn’t work then I’m going to try the colorful pellets!

I disagree with the Ca supplementation in so many of the foods you feed your birds. I recommend that you give them all a mineral block so they can supplement themselves if they feel the need as they would in nature. The Ca supplementation is especially not necessary since you feed mainly pellets. It would be a good idea to add fresh veggies to the daily diet.

If you watch our other videos you will see us mention that Bella has congenital hypocalcemia. All our birds are rescues and have various nutritional and other medical conditions.

I hope it gets better soon, it could be really sick, shy, or just not ready yet, my parrot took a few weeks-months to fully settle and bond :).
try playing parrot sounds or music (maybe even a radio or some tv show XD) and see if they start to talk or vocalize a little more.
      please vet check though!

Please, What were the indications you noticed; that told you that your birds became allergic (to the Harrison’s). Thank you.
Caution with the calcium fortified millet, I took my bird to the vet, she had a swollen eye. What I believe happened was some powder from the coated millet got into her eye when she was eating it.

The birds began having diarrhea after switching to Harrison’s, despite us trying different bags and batches. The diarrhea stopped once we stopped feeding them Harrison’s
