  • As much as we love our parrots, sometimes it is necessary to get some TLC for a trip to somewhere far far away, whether it be just for a weekend or for a week! In this video, we talk about what we do to prepare our house for our pet sitter so that our birds are well taken care of while we are gone. We also talk about how to train and prepare instruction sheets for your pet sitter and how to set up Skype so you can chat with your parrots daily! (Yes, this is very possible)!
Please subscribe to our channel for more helpful parrot videos and don't forget to leave suggestions for future topics in the comments below. We love hearing from you guys!
We hope you find this video helpful. If there are any questions, please don't be afraid to ask. We try out best to help out wherever we can. We hope that you have a wonderful vacation and hopefully you won't miss your little babies too much. ;p

Are puppy pads for inside cages?
I too own 2 Meyers parrots and constantly keep their cage cleaned. They are molting now.OMG FEATHERS ALL OVER PLACE. Any suggestions in helping them from molting do much? Any foods that wiuld help?
All suggestions welcome. Thank you. I love my babies 💜💕👍

No, they are not for inside cages. They belong in the poop pan below the cage where the bird cannot eat it. We currently use Goodnites disposable bed pads as they are unscented, although it's more expensive. They are also placed in the pan where the birds cannot get access.

Flock of Five I have a yellow sided green cheek! They are the sweetest. I have 5 birds total but I just got my green cheek around 3 weeks ago. He is already warming up to me and loves getting scritches!

Hi, i just stumbled upon your channel and you and your flock are so cute!!!
I'm just wondering if you have any tips on getting a new/untame bird to eat pellets? I noticed you said in one of your videos that with Bella you got her to eat pellets first then started introducing chop, how did you do this because my IRN doesn't like chop or pellets and is such a picky eater! He only likes sugary fruits like apple and grapes!
    Thanks :)

Where would you recomend we find a bird sitter? LOVE ALL YOUR BEAUTIFUL BIRDS! My heart melts!❤ such great parronts :)

    • @FlockofFive

It's tricky. We are currently in a city where we have avian vets who do boarding. That would be our preference. We were fortunate to find a good pet sitter and stuck with her previously.

Next vid can you post how to remove bloody feather

    • @FlockofFive
      @FlockofFive  6 лет назад +1

Hi Evelyn! For blood feathers, we actually recommend using styptic powder/ flour to stop the bleeding, and immediately taking your bird to an avian vet. Removing a blood feather could cause more bleeding + tissue trauma that could result in fatality. Please refer to our youtube channel for our video on what to do in a parrot emergency for more info!

If its only one bird can't you just take him with u?

    • @pige0223

Maybe but your bird needs to be able to go on the passengers cabin or the rumbling of a car and your hotel needs to be pet friendly
