@@Katyhillfarmer No actually it’s been pretty warm and it’s been 60s and 70s it’s a little chilly today it’s about 45 50° today snow is just about all gone and I’ve been moving a lot of firewood the tractor is performing beautifully
the lighter blade is .250 thick but 3 inch wide its a high lift blade it cuts the best the heavy duty blade is .315 thick but 2.5 wide low lift both are considered heavy duty but the higher lift will get the grass out of the deck better
Keep in mind that if you buy a 1025R with the 60D mower deck, the deck has only a one year warranty, which translates into one mowing season. I had a significant failure caused by a factory defect, and I had to pay for it after just 17 months of use. John Deere does not stand behind their workmanship, so you're on your own.
Man get you a Milwaukee M12 or M18 battery powered grease gun with a LockNLube tip accessory. Its a little pricey but once you invest in it its worth every penny. It takes a job that sucks and turns it into something that I really don't dread any longer. I have 3 different guns designed in the nature of the one that you are using and the last time I saw them they were at the bottom of my tool box pretending not to drip.
Great video. Are you're still satisfied with this deck? I'm undecided whether to replace my crappy RFM with a drive over deck or spend a little more for a ZT. I'm thinking the pros of a ZT would be speed and saving wear on the tractor but the cons are price and difficulty accessing the deck.
Kevin, are you familiar with the Load and Go accessory for the deck? It allows you to pick up the deck with your forks and turn it any which way you want it.
How do you drain the oil out and replace it without removing the gearbox or lifting the complete deck up overhead by the end in a dangerous overhead position. Another pathetic design by John Deere
Thanks. Didn't know about the tension fitting.
I just put an old bed spring on to help the worn out front one. 😉👍
I use a Ridgid power grease gun and Amsoil red grease.
Thanks for the tip on the tension arm grease fitting! Great video!
Glad it was helpful!
I just got a new 1025r with a 60d mower. I'm going to buy a set of load n go so I can move my deck easier. Take care.
I use a handheld JD grease gun,its been a good one for me.
If your still looking for a good grease gun check out Lube Shuttle. I have one and love it. Not so messy.
i will have to look into them
Nice job I have to put my bucket back on my tractor and take the snowblower off and I have to meet ants my deck as well

Can you show or send me a video on how to change the belt???
Great question! That's why I just watched as well... it appears we've got to remove the gearbox and plate in order to free the belt.
i will get a video out on that soon thanks for asking and stopping by
Great educational video.. thanks!

Most mechanics own a pump. Id suggest that if you don't own one than invest in one.
