    Hello Kevin I watched your other videos, not this one, but I wanted to thank you. So I am making my comment here. 1rst a word about myself. I grew up sitting by my mom who did bridal gowns, drapery and her own projects. Since I grew up with this it made me an authority yes? I thought so,,,.Well I lived my life and fixed my tents, backpacks, motocross gear. I taylored suites, by that I mean I bought expensive suits with big lapels and collars, and cut them and re sewed them. I cut sleeves of my work shirts to shorten sleeves. So I milled some steal built some stuff I weld metal. Recently I bought a new machine; a Singer 4452. I had several through the years but this was my 1st new machine. My 1st projet was a car cover I got it done but had some basic trouble. (tons of busted needles, lots of frayed n busted thread). I goth the HEAVY DUTY car cover done! yippee. (Well I got it done without an understanding of what was going wrong). I just started making some canvas pouches with the left over car cover scraps. I had so much trouble with my new machine the canvas & webbing straps they I had to begin GOOGLE. I watched many video's before ZI settle with your series.I watched a ton of your series. I saw you were good and watched your beginner all the way threw!! (a few times). I learned allot so much I never make comments but want to THANK YOU. I can Taylor a suit or dress shirt like nobody's business, but your videos, dawg THANK you Again!! Well I wrote this on the fly so Sorry for all my gafs

    Thank you Kevin for showing buttonholes on knit fabric. I also like your tip of reducing the length so that it produces a tighter sew.

    I replaced my machine recently with singer heavy duty 4452. I am afraid of using the button hole thing …lol so I am watching this to learn .
    Please continue to make videos on techniques. I am going to watch all your series while on holiday to learn these gems.
    Thank you 🙏🏻

    Hello Kevin, I've had a frustrating problem with the buttonholer on both HD 6600and 6620 models - I keep getting a 1/4" buttonhole. BUT I fixed it! There is an adjustment screw on the black rocker lever of the buttonhole mechanism. I played with it and it seems it needs to adjust so that the slot in the top of the rocker level is just forward of the sensor. It's really sensitive, so I'm thinking it can get jostled and back off, causing the 1/4" issue. I'll post photos on your FB page.

    This is the first time I’m trying to use this feature on my sewing machine, which should be the same as you are using, but on my test fabric, my sewing machine only does the first portion and won’t come back down to finish the button hole. I was having trouble with the push lever so idk if that’s not lined up correctly or how to know if I’m doing that set up right. Please help 😩

      @@shootforstars77 Did you pull down the lever before you start your button holes?

  • @whatsbridoing
    @whatsbridoing 6 месяцев назад

    Mine is not going back and forth like that and hitting the lever. It’s making the same size hole no matter what button size and it is generally not working correctly for any buttonhole style. The only difference i see between mine and yours is that it is not hitting the lever back and forth. Only the back piece hits the lever. After that it does what it wants. What do you think could be the issue?

      Capture a video and post it. It is hard to say without seeing exactly what is going on. Post it and send me the link. Capture it all from the setting it up and sewing.

    These Singer Computerized heavy duty sewing machines [ HD6600C and HD6800C ] have a very noisy stepping motor for the feed dogs. It knocks loudly each time the feed dog direction reverses. Sounds like your thread cutter is making an abnormal noise.

    • @kevinsews
      @kevinsews  2 года назад

      What’s strange is it only makes that noise when cutting the thread when the button foot is on it. Otherwise it is normal sounding. I took it apart and I didn’t see anything causing it, which is a bit puzzling.

    What is the largest button hole it will make?

    • @kevinsews
      @kevinsews  Год назад

      You can make them as large as you want by simply using the zigzag stitch. For the automatic button hole features you can download the manual for the machines at singer.com
