Wanted to share my experience here. Bought a new 2020 Model 3 LR with Continental (19 inch). They lasted about 24000 miles with rear tires taking the major beating. My driving style is pretty normal and I don't have a heavy right foot. Things I observed with those tires:
    1. Pretty poor when it comes to noise control.
    2. Handling at turnings was ok with varying tire pressure specs.
Two months ago, I finally decided to change the tires to Hankook AS ION and here's what I observed:
    1. The car has become pretty silent. I hardly hear any noise.
    2. Handling at turnings is ok with same tire pressure as last time with the old tires.
    3. I am definitely getting more range than the previous tires. I have not calculated it to be precise but for the same distance lets say if I was losing out 8 miles on my previous tires (continental and trip to my work from home), I am currently losing only 6 miles on Hankook and sometimes 5.5 as well (with everything else being constant).
I am definitely glad I took the advice of folks who vouched for Hankook seriously on Reddit/RUclips and glad I changed my tires. Best decision.

Thanks for sharing. After more than 2k miles, my energy consumption is down to 265W/mile. This is better than the 272W/mile I was getting with the Michelin Pilot EVs.

The background music is really distracting... I had to mute the video and read captions lol. Thanks for the info though. I accidentally clipped a curb the other day and damaged my rear passenger tire, so thinking about getting these as a replacement for my Tesla. Sounds promising.

This, when editing try bringing the music down where you can almost not hear it lol, I know it sounds funny hahaha but it works best like that, they music can not be competing with your voice.

It seems when install new tires the mileage goes down. But as the diameter gets smaller with wear it seems to go up. That is my guess. Wish you do an update.

Just got these tyres on my BYD Seal. Instantly could tell it was quieter on smooth roads. Less of the droning tyre noise. That in itself for an EV is a massive win.

  • @13aker0

This EV tires might give more range but with a little sacrifices on wet braking and stuffs compared to the standard Pilot Sport 4..
I know since that was I observed on my MX after I switched to Pilot EV from Pilot Sport 4 . I changed back to Sport 4 after like 2000km since I prefer better handling at fast Highway speeds

To each their own. I find the handling fine for the Hankooks and I would rather have slightly better range.

They seem to ride similar to the Michelin Pilot EV I previously had. They are quieter when the road is smoother, still noises come through when the road is bumpy.

I went to discount tire and the hankook ion evo funny have a mileage warranty for the 255 19 size. Don't know what to do was going to get them for my model y but with no mileage warranty I'm hesitant. What do you think

    • @geteducatedbyTed

I don't understand your question. There was a mileage warranty for a particular size, but not the size that fit on the Model Y? Check this page for further details - www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Hankook&tireModel=iON+evo+AS&isSEO=true

Is the hankook ion EV really that much quieter than the Pilot sport ev? I thought the Pilot sport EV had the acoustic foam like the hankook does. Sadly hankook doesn't produce the ION EV in my dimension 245/40/20 :( , same with Pilot EV. I think I will go with Pirelli P-zero Elect. Also Pirelli has released the new "Pirelli P-Zero E" which has triple A:s on EU label. Interesting.

As I mention in my video, the Hankook ION EVOs are quieter for sure on smoother roads. When the road is bumpy it seems the same as my previous Pilot EVs. Great to know about the Pirelli P Zero E. What is the tread rating for miles?

    • @geteducatedbyTed

After driving on them for 3k miles, I would say they are quitter, the ride is smoother, but the corner handling is a bit less than the Michelin Pilot EVs.
