How thick is your spare?? My modern spare is 6”. Don’t see how this will go in without cutting the back piece. Not sure it will lay flat enough. Maybe your model is different. I have a Y 2023. I don’t have the vertical piece that you pulled out of the tub.

I watched your video. My detailer applied a coating to my 2024 Model Y windshield to prevent pits, rocks etc. He then recommended silicone blades to avoid scratching the coating. Which silicone wiper brand and size do you recommend? I have two concerns: selecting the right silicone product/size for my 2024 Y and selecting a quality product. Internet searches advertise Model Y 2020- 2023 silicone blades for the Model Y 2024 but do not specifically call out the 2024. The aftermarket brand I (incorrectly) bought from Amazon leaves a streak on the driver's side and doesn't cover the passenger side: Windshield Wiper Blades for Tesla Model X with Integrated Washing, Tesla Silicone Windscreen Wiper Blades All-Seasons applicable, Original Equipment Accessories (28"+ 18" pair for front windshield). Can you help?

Just got these tyres on my BYD Seal. Instantly could tell it was quieter on smooth roads. Less of the droning tyre noise. That in itself for an EV is a massive win.

Great video! Went from a Model 3LR where the Modern Spare easily mounted in the upper portion of the trunk, to not knowing where to mount it in my new MYP. Any noticeable increase in interior road noise levels now that the padded/carpeted sub trunk section isn't there?

I think your observation is only the tip of the iceberg. First, the <Ford> dealership network, you're back in the showroom dealing with the sales force - and what is their incentive to push an EV with so many ICE choices that they're more familiar with; Second, even a little research reveals the Tesla charging network is the benchmark; Ford's adapting the Tesla standard will help in a longer run; and, finally, I think we're still in the 'early adopter' stage of those who are willing purchase an EV - the average person who walks into a non-Tesla dealership is much more risk averse to take that plunge (IMHO). (Disclosure: I am a satisfied owner of a Tesla Model 3)

Wanted to share my experience here. Bought a new 2020 Model 3 LR with Continental (19 inch). They lasted about 24000 miles with rear tires taking the major beating. My driving style is pretty normal and I don't have a heavy right foot. Things I observed with those tires: 1. Pretty poor when it comes to noise control. 2. Handling at turnings was ok with varying tire pressure specs. Two months ago, I finally decided to change the tires to Hankook AS ION and here's what I observed: 1. The car has become pretty silent. I hardly hear any noise. 2. Handling at turnings is ok with same tire pressure as last time with the old tires. 3. I am definitely getting more range than the previous tires. I have not calculated it to be precise but for the same distance lets say if I was losing out 8 miles on my previous tires (continental and trip to my work from home), I am currently losing only 6 miles on Hankook and sometimes 5.5 as well (with everything else being constant). I am definitely glad I took the advice of folks who vouched for Hankook seriously on Reddit/RUclips and glad I changed my tires. Best decision.

If I paid 100 000 euros for a car that has gap problems, and, its service history is, that 1 in 3 have major problems- I do not think I would be showing off my purchase. ALTHO- it could be that these 13( lol) trucks are the only ones without major problems so drivers come here to show off how lucky they were. I am saying "were" because more then 50 were told to be there, but they broke on their way to the event.

Is your tire directional? I’m probably going to rotate exactly how you did (I have the standard 19in Gemini / Non Directional Tires) but the manual says to do the cross pattern. What are your thoughts?

I went to discount tire and the hankook ion evo funny have a mileage warranty for the 255 19 size. Don't know what to do was going to get them for my model y but with no mileage warranty I'm hesitant. What do you think

Great job on the video Ted! Nice to see an honest unbiased review of it. I am amazed by watching videos like this how well the system does work. Absolutely brilliant that Tesla has gotten thousands of people to pay them to help them develop it. I would have never dreamed that was possible. The big question is, how good does it need to be in order to be accepted? I could see them soon getting to where it's better than the average driver. I think it will have to be better than the most attentive driver though. Real drivers causing accidents is accepted. The car causing the accident won't be accepted at all. Well done, informative and entertaining!

Is the hankook ion EV really that much quieter than the Pilot sport ev? I thought the Pilot sport EV had the acoustic foam like the hankook does. Sadly hankook doesn't produce the ION EV in my dimension 245/40/20 :( , same with Pilot EV. I think I will go with Pirelli P-zero Elect. Also Pirelli has released the new "Pirelli P-Zero E" which has triple A:s on EU label. Interesting.
