I agree with you on the front flipper, I wish that he would have left more material on the top, it's tough to top flip, but the action in the reverse flick is crazy good! Proud owner of #55

Lockup and action on this match mcnees and Koenig for sure. They lock up like a vault and just drop shut with zero effort.

That action looks smooth as butter! I tried to grab #469 (purple ano) but missed out. I’m not sure how I feel about the front flipper instead of the previous style top/rear flipper. Definitely going to get a mini FSD in pattern 2 at some point regardless of locking mechanism! This one will be another homerun as we’ve all come to expect from Craig.

Very cool knife and definitely will be trying for one. Also the edge being sharpened at 25° vs a 17 or 18° has minimal effect on slicing paper. Its more to do with properly apexing the edge without leaving behind a burr. I can slice paper after sharpening my axe and its far thicker than any pocket knife. Most knife makers either dont want to take the time to put a proper edge on or can't.

The one I bought and these 2 in the video are my 3 favorite milling patterns. I love how he does the pocket clip that matches the milling on the scale exactly. Anyway awesome knife and the video wasn't bad either. Lol. JK. Your videos are always great. 👍👍

such a gorgeous knaf...i hope to handle one some day...every badass knaf doesn't have to be a frame lock and they proved it, twice now lol

Do you have any blade movement when the knife is closed? Can you flick the knife open with just movement? Detent lash etc ?

Do you find the old button lock sketchy at all? I've heard certain people say the button lock he used to do can be disengaged when squeezing the handle accidentally.

A little, not a huge deal IMO

@@pocketpriorities good to know! I think I like the original mini a little more so I’m gonna try to get my hands on one.

Is there still a button lock option remaining? I feel like the liner lock removes some the uniqueness of this knife. And no rear flipper? Not a fan of front flippers. Were there problems with the old style?

Yeah he’s still producing some Mini FSD button locks for now. Button isn’t for everyone, and this enables you to grab anywhere without potential of unlocking the knife.

@@pocketpriorities interesting. I wonder if he had issues in production or whatever with the old ones. This seems like a step backwards.

You like it more than the button lock? I have the button lock one and love it.

Both are great in their own ways! More refined, less fidgety

FINALLY!! Mr. Brown has decided to use MAGNACUT on his blades!! It’s going to be hard to beat him now. From the build quality, to design language, and now steel choice….Brown Knives is going to be leading the pack. Anyone that downplays properly heat treated MagnaCut, clearly doesn’t know any better or is simply misinformed. For superior edge retention and light-medium EDC use (cutting boxes, rope, etc.), HRC should be 63-65. For superior toughness + decent edge retention and hard EDC use, HRC should be between 60-63 (depending on blade stock thickness). A lot of people complain about 60-62 HRC but, fail to realize it’s more about HOW you get to that number. For example, one HT process to get to 62 HRC, might be inferior/superior to another. Would love to see OZ Machine Co. come out with another design or two as well. Something with a blade stock thickness between .145 in & .165 in, with a deep/tall hollow grind. Basically a knife that falls between a Shiro, Koenig, and Demko.

@@pocketpriorities I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s almost scary how alike we are when it comes to knives lol. High end wise, we basically like the exact same models/brands.

I want to see this with a compression lock instead of a liner lock. Hopefully P2 has it flipped to the back.
