What a complicated mess. Asked to login 14 times. Forced to change my password 4 times. Finally after subbing the monthly OneDrive cloud, it refuses to backup credentials and tells me to verify my identity yet again (15th time) but does not tell me how I am to do this. So incredibly sorry I tried to do anything with Microsoft. What a garbage can of needless complications.
Is this different compared to win 10 sync settings?
Yeah, this is very different. It's a more robust backup option which not only has more granular control, but also helps you to back up more items than Windows 10 did.
@paulomalley okay but if im correct this one doesnt sync with other computers like the one on win10
Settings sync on Windows 10 only really "syncs" a very small amount of things.
This app on Windows 11 allows you to choose what to sync and you can restore it to basically any Windows 11 PC.
@paulomalley ahh I see then so it syncs as well as backs it up then? Sorry for dumb questions they use confusing words
There's no such thing as a dumb question, there often the best ones in my experience 😜
Whilst OneDrive will sync the folders etc back and forth continuously, the sycing of settings is more of a backup for you to restore manually to a new PC.
It's not a continuous sync from my experience, but that may change in the future since this is a new feature in Windows 11.
This is the most annoying, infuriating back up file system I have ever had to deal with
