Thanks Brian, found the system image file process to be flaky, don't really like windows backup either, I way prefer Free File Sync, been using it for nearly 20 years, hasn't let me down and the file structure it creates makes it so easy to recover data.

Thanks for mentioning "Free File Sync"! I'm looking for something to replace Macrium Reflect (free edition) so I'll have to check this out!

i have never trusted windows to back up my P.C. not since i needed to restore from a backup when on windows 7 and it would not restore from the back up, just said it was not a valid back up.

What would help alot is if Microsoft would create a program that monitors changes caused by updates while they are working on the update. That way they can find the problems the updates will cause an fix them before they ever issue the update. Gets old having something that worked fine not work right after an update. Microsoft ineptness is probably 50%of what creates the need for a good back up.

Sorry for going off topic, but can you tell me why RUclips is so adamant that i turn on my watch history? It just blocked a short video from a golf channel that i subscribe to because my watch history is off.
After watching this video and liking it, when i clicked back to watch something else, it popped up a full screen to remind me that my watch history is off.
Sorry for being off-topic, but I don't know who else to ask.
    This happens to any video.

If i have multiple partitions on the same drive and if i choose to backup just the C:\ partition with my system on it, when i will restore my C:\ partition the other partitions will be deleted from the drive or the other partitions from the drive wouldn' be erased and i will still have all my files from those partitions untouched? Thanks!

I don't think you should have glossed over the "Create System Repair Disk" option. Many modern PCs do not have a DVD drive, and this is the ONLY choice you get with this option. No doubt this was different back in the Windows 7 days. So what do us folks with new kit do ?

Microsoft recommends using a third-party tool instead of the built-in (windows 7) It's not reliable and outdated kinda of MS give up on it or something!
