Hi, Brian. I don't know if you mentioned this in another video. But one thing you can do to reduce the bloatware in Windows 11 when you install it is, when it asks for language, instead of selecting English American, or English UK, is to select English World. I'd say about 2/3 of the bloatware normally installed is not loaded. Another thing to do is right after windows finishes loading and updating is to open a local account and use that instead of the Microsoft Account we had to use to install the OS. Those two things alone makes a big difference.
Thank you so much for your time and effort, i just reloaded windows 11 and last night i was stuck on giving details to MS , i looked up your page which runs you through that, and it worked, so i subscribed and thanked you :)
Another fantastic video Brian, thank you! A complete detailed video would be awesome if possible. I nearly killed the Pause button while trying to take notes. :-)
just going from 10 to 11 now, i know i have watched them but did not realise just how many videos you have. should keep me busy for the rest of the year rewatching de bloating and customising all over again.
The only thing i have Windows 11 on is Lenovo Legion Go PC Handheld. Yes, there were a lot to disable and bloat to get rid off especially on a gaming device.
Really good video Brian I really like this sort of content and it struck me that some of the features like Services would be handy for some of the of the folks who have the Windows Home version as they do not have access to gpedit like Pro version owners have. I myself will get onto this tool although there are some things in say the Apps list that I have a problem understanding just what they do without having to resort to looking them up on the net as some of the descriptions are very ambiguous to me. All the same a great video mate! Now as an afterthought I would like to know if the changes one makes using say Wintoys and the other stuff you feature will be reset by an update from Microsoft??
After installing windows 11 on VMware, it says "you need to activate windows before you can personalize your PC". And when I click activate now, it says "windows reported that no product key was found on your device. Error code: 0xC004F213". How to solve this?
I will never understand someone who would say Windows 11 is more snappy and smooth than Windows 10. I upgraded to Windows 11 for hardware reasons... and up to date in general. Windows 10 is in it's prime and it's sad to know it doesnt have much left
😊 if u have a spare SSD on ur board i suggest installing some of the linux distros and experiment, never hurts to learn something new, its also very useful if your running an unactivated windows, because the windows watermark gets really anoying if u just need the pc to watch youtube or netflix
Great vid Brian. I like Edge but hate Bing and do not want Co pilot.Any chance of an easy total removal.(not keen on Chrome and Thorium to be honest) I think Edge is snappier.
I'm hesitant to download windows11 cuz of compability issues. I download my software for my windows 10... If i install win 11,would i still access my installed software? Or do i need to download them again?
Things You Should Do After Installing Windows 11: 1- Notice that you made a mistake by installing W11. 2- Prepare a W10 Enterprise LTSC bootable flash drive using Rufus. 3- Purge W11 from your PC and install W10 Enterprise LTSC. 4- Activate it. 5- Enjoy.
I'm not sure about Windows 11 but in Windows 10 Microsoft have just installed a program called 'Remote Desktop Connection'. I didn't ask for that so I have uninstalled it but that was a bit sneaky by Microsoft but I wonder if others have had this installed on their computer.
@@TwoThousandStu I'm well aware of that because I've always made sure that this was disabled to prevent remote access. But that is not the point - despite it being disabled Microsoft have re-installed it! I can only presume it came with an update which I installed 16th November. In fact, it suddenly appeared amongst the list of Apps & features and was also shown installed on the 16th November in Programs and Features in Control Panel so I immediately uninstalled it. If that happened to me then it must have happened to others unless they don't install Microsoft's updates.
@@TwoThousandStu Found it: November 14, 2023-KB5032189 (OS Builds 19044.3693 and 19045.3693). If you look into Microsoft's website the list of files included in this update includes numerous names such as "Remote Desktop Connection" and many others beginning with "remote" plus Action, Aggregator, Events, Diagnostics etc etc. - about 40 such files.
I'm just catching up on wether I should upgrade from Win 10 home to Win 11? The biggest annoyance now is that I cannot eject usb storage device in 10 home, System is always locking the hidden folders... Whereas the win 10 pro has no issue at all.
Hey Brian, I recently saw your vid about Updating a Dell Bios so Can you make a Video about how to install Windows 10/11, I already got the USB With Bootable But it didn't seem to work and The Technician said that it needs a "Reflash"??? and it said that my PC is from another Country and if not "Verification Failed" then it says "Restarting Now" and I need help, I think it's kinda broken but the same thing is not so can you please Help me? Thanks
The most important thing to do after installing windows 11 is realise you made an error in judgement, uninstall it immediately and go back to Windows 10 not to make that mistake again 😂🤣.
You could also just go stettings, apps, and remove all you son't want. No need for un-secure 3. party programs on your computer. After installing Chris' toolbox and debloating my windows, I tried to change some settings and got this msg. "You can't change this setting, it is controlled by a company". I then got scared and reinstalled Wwindows and promised myself never to touch 3. party programs on my computer. I just remove all the I can with Windows in Windows.
The reason this happens is most likely they are trying to make sure windows doesn't just decide to change the setting itself, so it sets it as a company so that windows doesn't just decide to mess with anything. There is a way around this besides reinstalling that doesn't take long at all, and I've used the toolbox before and nothing has happened. Also, there is no way you are fine using windows without needing any apps other than Microsoft's. You must have gotten REALLY scared I guess
@@ad1340yt You are right off course. I didn't concider the angle that almost every app you use in Windows is 3. party. What I ment is, that the scripts in question are deeply rooted under the hood of Windows and that that can be a risc. I don't know Chris Titus. I don't know if I can trust him or not, but still it was unsettling for me, that I suddenly wasn't able to change certain settings on my system. As I said, you can remove a lot of apps form windows without using scripts from outsiders. That's what I do after the installation. I simply root out everything I don't need and use. I mostly use Windows for gaming, so for all the important stuff I use Linux, Fedora 39.
Everything went well and I enjoyed the video until the sponsor recommending thing. It really made me feel disappointed and I really lost interest in watching further. ☹️
