I took some pictures of marble the other day with the intent of replicating it in Blender, this tutorial will surely help a bunch. Superhuman timing haha
Incredible once again! Haven’t watched one of your tutorials in a while and I absolutely cannot emphasize enough how much the “group input” node changes everything. Didn’t even know it existed till this video. Thanks Ryan!
I've backed into Blender and there are still basic things I don't know, but you just showed me 5 things I've been wondering about in the first 2 minutes. Subscribed
Have you ever considered using a map range node instead of a color ramp node for your roughness settings. That way you are more able to control the highs and lows without adjusting the overall roughness with the HSV node from the group node panel?
yeah I considered it, but I really like the setup I use better. the Hue/Sat-Value controls the value with one slider, where the map range uses multiple values.
Great tutorial! One small thing, though…rather than dragging the Group Input node around, you can just make duplicates. Everything ends up looking much cleaner, with less ‘spaghetti’ all over the place.
Once again a great tutorial Ryan! I wanted to know why use the ColorRamp node for black/white instead of the Map Range node? Isnt ColorRamp node more resource intensive?
Hmm, it might be. I like the color ramp node because its so visual, and so its easier to use. But yeah, you could also use the map range node for non-color editing.
Yet another great tutorial. Could you make some tutorials about baking for using in game engines? And what do you think about AI and 3D? Would AI effect 3D in large scale
I feel terrible at not being in a position of assist your venture financially but the truth is my country is under a severe forex deficiency and obtaining foreign exchange is rather a difficult process, one that I would like to avoid. Nevertheless, I thank you for still providing a way to actually make all your realistic materials. Thanks and be safe.
No worries! I totally understand that not everyone can support financially. Even just liking, commenting, subscribing, and all that really helps me out too! 👍
@@RyanKingArt Agreed however the effects are different. I think these updates and re-arranging of some functions makes it harder and perhaps off putting for people to continue or start 3D. With some bought tutorials the courses can sometimes not be finished because of it. Had that with rigging. Even with bought assets. Besides that it seems procedural nodes get better and better and perhaps replace normal texturing? If they add painting on procedural texture allot of people will get sold on it. I hope you have a look into the changes of the nodes.
wow, almost 180k subscribers, you are getting really popular. It was only 30k few years ago when i saw you first time. how is your plan going to make enough money from youtube, so you dont have to work for a company? Is it possible with that amount of subscribers?
Thanks! my online business is fully supporting me! so I am doing this for a living. Patreon, Gumroad, affiliate links, and selling products, also really helps. I make some income from RUclips ads too.
Hey, I just checked Gumroad's X page (Twitter) and for some reason PayPal was just removed from Gumroad as a payment option. I'm not sure why, and hopefully they will bring it back.
@@RyanKingArt Curses! Is it available anywhere else? (PayPal generally has dollars in, meaning I don't lose on changing it to Sterling then changing it back.)

Hello from the Canary Islands. What about adding SSS to a marble material in a next tutorial?
this is cool

Nice. Simple to follow. However Blender 4.0 changed several things again with the update.
yes that's true, but you still can follow the tutorial in the new blender version

Possible to do a video of Modelling a character and then sculpting details?..
If that's even possible in blender 😅.
thanks for the idea!
If I wanted to make Color 1 emmisive, what nodes would I use to make the cracks able to glow or not?
Nice!

I hope in the future you make your texture addon and a RUclips tutorial for the addon
you can actually set it up yourself with your own materials by using the asset browser. I have tutorials on how to use the asset browser.
