Okay guys I UPDATED the download link for the chop preset
Here you go: www.dropbox.com/s/4usj0x1bd58z55h/Sample%20Chop.adg?dl=0
ChrisPunsalanTV great man. Im goinv to grab this in the am. I have a question, do you collab with low subscriber youtubers and or muscisians?
I don't look at numbers when it comes to collaborating with people. I'm more interested in whether I like their music or not.
how do I get the sample chop into live?
Taylor Armstrong you should be abe to drag and drop. I also have the push 2 which loafs the instrument.
I cant find that Slicing menu. So in order to Slice n Chop, I would need to download that preset??
Thanks for not telling us your whole life story like some tutorials do, quick and straight to the point! Very helpful.
Glad you liked it!
lol
I know all this already in Ableton. Used it for years with my MPC. But this is the best I've heard it explained. Great video. 👍
Da Drank Kang that means a lot to me. I'm glad you found value in the video! Thanks.
this is one of the most underrated youtubers out there
Thank you!

ChrisPunsalanTV awesome little tutorial thanks fer posting that and opening my mind to ideas, but I got a question fer ya that I haven't yet seen on at tutorials (before I drop All That Cash on the software): what if you just wanted to sample the horns? Or take sample out first few words ONLY of Al Green? Ya know, that "I-I-I... I'm so in love with you"... can you DO the with the Simpler? Ya know like take just a bassline from out of an entire song? (of course, with the intention of chopping it up and goin ta town lol!) I haven't come across a single tutorial that shows that, if you know of one or know how ta do it... thanks again fer the awesome post... Keep Makin Music, brother!
ChrisPunsalanTV so even when I follow those steps to chop my sample and it’s at the right BPM when I (for example) transpose the pitch up but slow down the BPM it sounds bad. Is that normal or am I doing sum wrong?
dude, i've got problem. when i right click on the track that i warped, there's no 'slicing to midi track'. whut should i do?
ChrisPunsalanTV hey man I have the same problem, where on my warped audio i right click and their is no slice to midi.. I'm struggling and frustrated can you help a brother out and let me know how to fix it?? I would really appreciate it!
You have finally solved this for me. I've struggled for months with this simple task and all the other videos I found on this are ridiculously irrelevant to what I'm looking for or are way over complicated/unnecessary steps added. Going from garage band to ableton is a godsend but some basic tasks I haven't been able to figure out have been driving me nuts. Thanks a trillion for this simple tutorial. You rock
happy to help!
I know this is old but thanks for this. I just started messing around chopping samples and this tutorial is great. Can't wait to watch your other videos.
same dude, that's a gold mine
You and I are in the same boat. 🚢 🎸 🎶
NAILED it! I had a friend try to explain this to me but it's one of those things that you REALLY just need to SEE. Thanks for facilitating that process.
thanks!
This is one of the greatest videos ever!! Thank you so much for being so clear and your hard work sir!! Appreciate! Love from Lugo, Spain
man Ive been struggling with just making shit because its all so overwhelming but real talk your tutorials got me over the hump to actually produce something with structure and that is more than a simple drumloop. thank you from the bottom of my heart my guy
I'm glad I can help!
man gotta say this was the most straightforward and easy to understand sampling vid I've come across so far. Thank you. love how you explained how to map the sample to your keys because that's where the magic really happens.
happy to help!
Hi and thank you! I have avoided production for several years and was always overwhelmed by Ableton, preferred Logic but not spending $ on Macs now when my £200 laptop runs 9.5 fine, it's just fun for me I make no claims.
Thank you for the perfect video and style I was looking for in my first week back on it. Live long and prosper.
Thanks Nick!
Man I'm just now learning Ableton Live and this video is straight to the point especially using a basic song and not a drum loop... Nice video young man👍
Man I always used to write off Ableton as a DAW for "someone else" because of what I want to make but because of your videos I decided to give it a shot and it's the best one I've used thus far! Thanks!!
woo! Glad you gave it a shot.
I'm not an ableton user but I'm going to start because of you Chris, all my music is from do studio and NI Machines. ( hey Chris I know u not into maschine). But keep doing your rhing
I'm into maschine! I started making beats in 2012 with a maschine.

Amazing video, thank you for this. As far as setting clips to midi, how would u go about doing this if you want clips from all over the track rsther than just quarter notes over a 4 bar section?

Thank you so much brother!!!
This is so clutch. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching
good shit bro, great tutorial never thought of adding markers on the downbeat in that way.
Great video. The way you warped the sample was very interesting, Usually when I find the downbeat I set the 1.1 marker then choose "warp sample from here" and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't...lol but your method seems more efficient. Thank you!
Thanks for the comment. That's interesting, i've never tried that method before! I like to do it this way 'cause it forces ableton to do EXACTLY what you want it to.
Thanks, Chris! Subbed
