Shortcut might be assigned to something else...for example ctrl+shft+d for creating midi doesn't work on my pc cuz its being utilised by my graphic card...i dont know the technicality but search on Abletons help forum u will find solution...
I only know windows - click on the bit of segment you want to split and hit Ctrl + E to make a cut. You can then move the two halves you've just made around or delete one or the other etc.

How do you have two audio tracks in one clip?
How do you automatically cut that audio into quarter notes?
on pc, its a ctrl+e (if im right) to cut first, then 3xtimes a ctrl+d (duplicate)

I asked this too until i realized hw wasnt splitting, he was duplicating that first bar. Highlight and command D to duplicate
