Pastors Jeff Durbin and Dr. James White spend time talking to this wonderful couple about the power of the Gospel and the differences between the Mormon god and gospel and what the Bible teaches.

      @@bboynewsboy991 I hit rock bottom and got a roommate whose father was a Pastor. Started out going to Church to feel it out. I liked the people and the environment. I’ve always been mislead by those who were religious and needed to do my own research. So I began reading the Bible and researching Christianity. My brother in-law is a devout Christian and always has been. He directed me to Pastor Jeff and he completely blew my mind. He always had an answer and a question to follow it. He opened my way of thinking about morality and how we truly came to be.
      There’s a lot more to it, but yeah once I opened myself to God, asked his forgiveness, and did my research I never looked back. I do wish I could have those 30 years of being lost back but better late than never.

    I was raised in the mormon church. In my teenage years I ended up addicted to heroin and wound up incarcerated. Following my release from jail I went to a bible based rehabilitation program called teen challenge. This is where Christ found me and transformed my life. I have been clean for three and a half years and the true biblical Jesus has radically changed my life. He is so much more real and present in my life than ever before.

    It's hard hearing Mormons go around in circles trying to figure out salvation because they have been so lied to for so long. It almost seems that they hear the gospel and understand it but where a person who is saved experiences peace, Mormons experience anxiety at the thought of being free of the bondage of mormonism.

    • @joncold4water
      @joncold4water 5 лет назад

      The fact is that we are promised peace of conscience and a hope for eternal glory if we are obedient. This has been confirmed to me by direct experience. It all makes so much sense to me, there is no circularity, only a straight and narrow path to eternal life.

    • @joncold4water
      @joncold4water 5 лет назад

      WE are not confused. You impute your confusion about the LDS faith and its doctrine to us but that projection is nothing but a mirage. The Restored Gospel is simple and so easy to understand. The challenge is to apply the concepts and principles in everyday life. It is most rewarding whether we succeed or fail because one always learns something about reality and the way things really are at the intersection of the Restored Gospel and this fallen world.

    • @austinkatz1551
      @austinkatz1551 5 лет назад +3

      @@joncold4water the LDS faith was started by a liar and a false prophet, whatever your direct experience is o can assure you that mormonism is not the truth, Jesus Christ is the truth and he is Yahweh, the one and only God. I'm saying this because I really care about you. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul? Mormonism offers a great community, a culture, family, brotherhood/sisterhood and a lot of benefits, BUT it's all built on a lie, by the grace of God a proven lie, but the LDS church forbids even acknowledgement of the truth about it's founders and the weak foundation it was built on.
      I'll pray for you and I hope you hear the real Messiah calling you out of mormonism.

      Sadly Mormons don’t understand the true meaning of salvation because it’s not the gospel the true gospel of Jesus Christ Mormons will always go in circles because there not taught in the truth or the light it’s the impossible gospel and Mormons one time or another definitely will experience a Anxiety shakeup one way or another that’s for certain.

    • @joncold4water
      @joncold4water 4 года назад +1

      We aren't confused. Your unbelief in our doctrine does not alter the truth. Just because you don't understand us doesn't make us wrong. Your observation that we cannot explain salvation is pure projection. What part of salvation does the Book of Mormon not explain with crystal clarity? Do we attack the legitimacy of other faiths? Of course not because we are at ease in our own. The Gospel is simple and easily understood. It is the application that is very challenging yet it is always effective when applied as directed. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was given for the purpose of helping the membership live the Gospel more fully. It's three-fold mission embraces living the gospel concerning all aspects of mortal life, where we came from, what we need to be doing here to secure joy in the eternities and where we are headed hence. Most of us rejoice in this faith which makes perfect sense, gives us opportunities to learn doctrine as we serve others with selflessness and love. Our scriptural resources are deep and bear much contemplation and pondering. We could never exhaust the wisdom those scriptures contain. The friendship and fellowship is a delight and when the Restored Gospel is preached with all love and humility, people get interested. Please set forth any Gospel topic and I will be glad to explain how LDS view it.

    I've infiltrated the mormon church and i try to include preaching of the true gospel whenever i can subtly. Instead of saying "i believe JS is a prophet" i say "i know God has used his actions for good in many ways" since we know God uses everything for his glory.
    I see some seeds of doubt sprouting now and then.
    Today i spoked with one member on how the scripture says that no one can see the face of the father because of how glorious it is, and how no one has or will in this life based on scriprue ... i'm watching this while inside of a chappel, and seen similar ones while inside the temple

    I liked her question about what if you were born into Mormonism...my husband is a Mormon and I am not but his family goes all the way back to Joseph Smith on both sides...he has never had a chance nor has anyone in his family. Now that he is married to me, a born again believer, he is still choosing to deny the truth. I liked the answer given here that we are all without excuse (Romans 1). So happy for this couple. I pray they come to know that they are saved and in Christ.

  • @Fede_uyz
    @Fede_uyz 5 лет назад +17

    You can see a simple fact here:
    Mormons often say "we can live righteous lives" and "i havent sinned today" as we have heard in this very same channel and i have heard in the flesh as elder of the lds church (dont worry, i dont help the church, i dont tithe since they believe i dont have a job yet, and i only stay so i can keep talking to friends in thr church about Jesus christ in a subtle way, talking about the importance of the scripture, etc. Without them rejecting me and even then i attend the chappel every other week and when i do i go to my church for the afternoon service)
    Yet christians say :
    " i am a sinner, i will never be one minute without sinning, the only way i can be redeemed is through Christ for I am nothing"
    Think about the arrogance...

    • @joncold4water
      @joncold4water 5 лет назад

      What arrogance? We try to live worthy of the Lord's blessings, but because we are imperfect we fall short. And still He blesses us for trying Does that mean we should quit trying? I fail to see any arrogance in that.

    • @Fede_uyz
      @Fede_uyz 5 лет назад +3

      @@joncold4water Jon Berkowitz no, the arrogance is thinking you can attain exaltation through righteous living and ordinances.
      Once i got out of the church i realized how much pressure there was. Also, while i was in the church i heard more than once "i dont believe i have sinned today"
      We are COMPLETELY USELESS, our good works do not "fall short" our good works are menstrual rags to God (Isa. 64:6) our best works are not better than bloody tampons to God.
      Plus, The church's doctrine is that through Christ we all saved, but through our righteousness we can become like God by achieving Exaltation. THAT is the arrogance.
      There has been only one charachter who has said we can become like God.... lets say their name was something rhyming with Lucifest.
      Not only that, but the manuscripts we have found which predate Christ and the so called apostasy by several centuries (including the passage about all our works being worse than bloody menstrual rags) confirm this.
      The church is arrogant
      One thing is saying "i'm a lowly sinner but i'll do my best knowing that all i'll do will never be even in God's ball park, but i want to try to live according to His will. Regardless because i know, that even if i will never come close, his way is much better that human ways"
      Another is saying "through our works and ordinances we can become righteous, become exalted and like God, if we fall short then Christ's sacrifice breaches the gap (Moroni 10:33 & 2 Nephi 25:23).
      Brother, the true gospel is one of accepting our nature, accepting that THERE WILL be impure thoughts, THERE WILL be moments when our temperance fails, THERE WILL be moments when we do not feel like doing the Lord's work. It is also accepting that even when we do everything right, we still could give more, sacrifice more, go an extra mile more, love God more, deeper and Stronger. Because of this, we will never even come close to be suficient, but Our Lord Jesus Chirst, who was in the beggining (of everything in existance), who in God, and who was God as John 1:1-5 tells us, through all things which cane into being were made, He who held the throne in his being God, came down, and took our place, received every punishment that we deserved for each time we didnt give more, for each time we were selfish because "that was my launch money" although the man in the street hasnt had a good lunch in maybe months or years. HE who mde everything, the Sole creator, came down and said "I created everything, i created you, I am Responsible for you, So i'll abandon my Heavenly throne, become man, and in the name of every Human i will take up the debt which sin is. Thanks to Adam sin entered, and through Me it will be defeated"
      Our debt is like an ocean, all of our good works combined are like tryng to get that water using a sift. Because even our good works are motivated by personal reasons. Because we give in plenty, we help out in times of leissure. Christ DIED WHILE BEING INNOCENT AND TO SAVE THOSE WHO WERE FLOGGING HIM.
      THAT is the true gospel.

    • @joncold4water
      @joncold4water 5 лет назад

      @@Fede_uyz Salvation is all about making and keeping sacred covenants with God. It is within the structure of covenants that Gods children are saved. With covenant there is commitment and we are in a reciprocal relationship with the Lord: We obey and He blesses us. He is there to help but He won't do it for us. The way we keep covenants is to live the commandments. So yes, salvation is about making covenants (which are ratified by ordinances) and keeping the commandments.

    • @Fede_uyz
      @Fede_uyz 5 лет назад +2

      @@joncold4water it truly shows how the church is wretched. Salvation is never by our works. If you want to be sabed by doing stuff, the follow every law as paul sttes.
      The arrogance of believing we can attain salvation through our works is something so devilish that makes me worry about ever member of that wretched church

    • @Theprincessinyellow
      @Theprincessinyellow 4 года назад +2

      Jon Berkowitz No dear friend, salvation IS the covenant! When we accept Jesus as our savior and the Lord of our lives we believe that HIS WORK ALONE is sufficient to save us. The God of the universe knew his creation deeply enough to know that none of our works will be good enough to be worthy to be in his presence. Jesus Christ isn’t there to bridge the gap between our works and God, he is the entire bridge! Your best works, holding fast to all of the law that you can is worthless to him and what keeps us from salvation is not believing that JESUS’ with on the cross is enough. That doesn’t mean we don’t do good works but the heart isn’t to achieve salvation, but it’s after we are saved we will have a new heart that desires to please and honor God.

    reminds me when i came to Christ, i was raised catholic & had a lot of question of Mary, and i remember how the holy spirit almost talked to me by Jhon 3:16 salvation is by believing in Jesus, just read the new testament its so clear, dont believe anything from anyone that is against the bible, or uses hard text of it to defends their beliefs
