Great comparison, thanks. I have a cronos bb54 on jubilee and their pepsi gmt on jubilee, thinking about grabbing their sub as well. This seals the deal, i was eying up that exact color combo, looks great!
cheers Cowboy yes I was surprised how much I liked the cronos, the only downside is the lack of any coating on the steel so it will get dinged up quickly, welcome to the channel bud,
I have a full black SD1953 and am happy enough with it. Having recently purchased a my first Cronos, a homage to the Tudor Black Bay 39mm non-diver, I’ll say the overall quality of Cronos is far better but in terms of bang for buck, SD is fantastic.
And yes I fully agree with the assessment the steeldive is an excellent watch for the price however the Kronos is definitely worth the extra money overall it is a lot nicer watch but like I always say ignorance is bliss
I picked up the SD1953 Hulk on an Oyster bracelet in the last Ali sale for £33.43 delivered. I agree that Ali is a crap shoot but I must have got lucky with this one; bezel and cyclops align perfectly, crown screws down well, lume evenly applied, NH35 running at +1s per day. The only nitpick is the end link tolerances could be tighter but that's it. Also, I much prefer the Steeldive clasp vs the R*lex style version. Great review.
I was never a fan of the new subs, in any colour, thus i don't keep an eye on them. I have a copy of a vintage gilt one, pleased with it. Happy you enjoy these, as many do. Cheers mate, be well. Prices go up and down cause of different shops (all official unofficial...or vise versa!!!), discounts, sales, superdeals, coins etc. Fun fact, you may find the same shop having massive discounts one day, and while "pieces" are flying away, prices creep up, reaching almost the (so called) usual price. Common tactics of sales, first that see it jump in, rest are paying bit more, until non common users find them in a price they think it's a bargain. Works, if you don't pay attention/don't know the game. Just prick up your ears, as you say over there! 😋 But in the end of the day, getting watches in the area of 40-60 euros, all in (tax, shipping, etc) ain't bad to enjoy these fun pieces.
Cheers Stav ☺️ I think the greenback is my fav version of the subby, I'm not gangsta enough to wear a gilt one 🤣 good point on the pricing and yeah they love their games...
My PT5000 Cronos regulated to -2/+4 sec per day - chronometer spec. Although I will say the gasket was bone freakin dry when I opened the case and had to grease it up myself.
You are not the first to sing it praises! Seems that Cronos have a winner in this one. I think the price fluctuates due to real time stock levels and supplier costs. The must have a system that checks and adapts accordingly. Nope you got me... I have no idea why their are two different priced ones. Maybe its a reseller. Maybe they changed the lume type or the clasp in some way... The Cronos seems more refined but the Steeldive is a true, good quality, no nonsense work watch. Its astonishing to see what both of these companies can do for the price!
Cheers Johan yup it's a tough call and for the price the steeldive is a decent gada watch 😎👍 the cronos has some holes in its armour but I really enjoy it which surprised me 🤣
@@halua1969 hey bud yes so citizen and seiko for example treat the steel so it's more scratch resistant thus enabling it to keep the sheen longer etc 👍😎
I really like the clasp on my cronos watches. It's thin with the taper, and I like not having the release levers on the side. Very nice with the extended link as well for hot days. They could stamp a logo on it. But I like it as is

thanks dude and yes these are surprisingly good for the price!! I'm giving this one away for the 5K sub celebration :)

thanks Modulo and yup I'm still surprised how well this runs but not had the caseback off yet so hope mine has been greased!!
That was my next question was are you comparing to nh35 Kronos or the PT 5000
The pt500 sir 😎👍

@@thetimebombardier I agree! Just wish they would sort out that clasp! Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Aren't you not supposed to just date while it's charging? Or between 9pm - 3am?
@@cj.6988 to date? Sorry not sure what you mean 🤔
@@thetimebombardier I believe he means adjust the date.
@@jltrem ah yes that might make sense and these are quick set dates so they function independently 👯♂️😎👍
5:29 coating on the stainless steal? this is the first time I am hearing it, and I own all these Steeldives, Cronos and Sanmartins

Steeldive is much better! The lume is 10 times better than in Seiko.
Cheers Valeriy and welcome to the channel 😎
The cronos says 200m on the dial, u said they are both 300m. Also that's why the cronos is a thinner watch. Just saying
thanks dude sorry slip the tongue 🤪 and yes you're right they are 200 only, cheers and welcome to the channel!!
Bizarre how Cronos still keep a bland clasp, too sterile!
Cheers bud yup they could easily throw a little logo on it 👍😎

The Rolex Submariner is the best, followed by the Tudor Black Bay 58.
These are cheap imitation watches.
LOL yes they are imitations totally agree :D
Where the Rolex Submariner is produced)😂 I bet in China😅
On the same factory where the SD is...😊
@@valeriynaoumenko9101 they might disagree with you there 🤣
Then why are you here, kid...
