Hi All - As announced in this video (bit.ly/3eduRGS) I’ve launched a Career Consulting / Life Chatting “Service” where I’m meeting people virtually for 30 minute sessions. I’m continuing to make videos and answering every question I can in the comments as always and live streaming every Wednesday at 10pm EST, but this is a good opportunity if you’re in need of individually catered advice. If you’re interested, please fill out this form forms.gle/LRdnvX7inZWYoBrj7 Looking forward to hearing from you!
Could you make video on the lifecycle of a deal? Thought that'd be insightful for college students preparing ib interviews etc. - Otherwise great content Bryan!
Been watching these videos for the past couple weeks think this is pretty much the only channel that gives in person actual sufficient information about the job
Bryan, can you discuss financial certifications/licenses in IB (ie. CFA, CPA, FRM, Series 7 or 79 to name of few)? What kind of overall merit do they hold in the line of work you do, are they common amongst your colleagues and peers, and if you plan on sitting for any exams if you aren’t already?
Hey Bryan - any advice on getting through the banking specific accounting, credit, etc training? It’s been very difficult so far in the virtual format.
Ahh we had instructors in person which made it easier for sure.. i would try to just breeze through it and not stress cuz most learning is done on the job

currently a business admin major and looking to earn a mba in finance to start from the bottom as a investment banking analyst to a MD as quick as I can get into the field.
Another great vid! Definitely earned those 5k. And yeah, I would enjoy a roomtour hahaha I got another idea for a video: You could maybe talk about the do's and don'ts for bankers on LinkedIn. I feel like the way bankers use this platform differs from that of people working in "industry". Let me know what you think!
Hey Bryan, Great videos man please keep posting these. I’m a undecided business major currently starting my sophomore year and I’m not sure how to figure out what I want to do. I know I want to do something in the business field and when I think of the options I see finance and accounting as the best option. How did you get through finance and Accouting classes in terms of studying/learning the material? Also do you enjoy your job, or do you not mind and mostly do it for the money? Thanks man.
Thanks! I'd say the classes are like any other class, with a bit of studying on the side through online forums. There's bigger picture aspects of the job I genuinely enjoy, but also any banker would be lying if they said they weren't motivated by the money
Hey Bryan, I appreciate your videos bud! Got a quick one for you. I graduated in June 2019. I'm going to be starting as Trade Ops on a High Frequency Trading desk in the next couple of months. Any ideas of how I could lateral in IB from this position? Might it be better to re-apply to a completely different company for a junior analyst role (I'm 24yo)? Thanks
Former Trade Ops Officer at a bank who had many coworkers who worked at IMC, Optiver and other HFT firms here. You might learn some useful Excel skills and it is relatively chill in regards to work/life balance, but lateraling from Trade Ops to Trading is very very hard and to investment banking is almost unheard of as the skillsets differ so much. Your best bet would be to re-apply, honestly. I've lateraled from Trade Ops to Institutional Asset Management to private equity, but I've been interested in investing since my early teens so while I did not go to the best school or had a good network, I spent so much time studying the markets that it was very easy for me to get noticed. Would not recommend my route to others
Hello, im from Spain and im studying economics + international relations (Double grade) in a private university, im planning to do an MBA in Oxford after this. Do you think its a good idea to work in Zurich after I finish my studies? I have seen salaries for +1 million $ there, do you think its possible to get 400k after a few years? Thanks.
If you really want to I'd start by looking broadly at what finance is really about - but frankly I'd just enjoy being fifteen and figure out careers a bit later

I got an ex JP Morgan MD and a sitting JP Morgan CEO asking me to tutor them coding. It is so bizarre... Any ideas as to what their intentions are?
Genuinely good content from someone, too many fake analysts out there. Thank you from an undergrad..
Thanks!
Hi! Are you also aspiring to become an IB? What course are you doing for it? Will be a lot helpful if you reply back.

My very first video does that at an analyst level but will do on a deal focus level
@@TheBryanJun if you get some buy-side/lawyer friends on, I think that would go a long way for giving the full picture of a transaction.

Great idea - i currently have 7 79 and 63 cpa is lower frequency couple cpa dont know what frm is
Bryan Its a financial risk manager, probably not as prevalent/relevant as I expected then. I appreciate the response.
I worked at J.P. Morgan. There was a young lady in her late 20s that became the youngest MD in the firm’s history. Supposedly, she was brilliant.
that's dope
She is what we call a great asset with great assets *wink wink*

Hey Bryan, I only need to know this. How do I get started in investment banking... I am in a undergraduate business major program in college...
Look at what your career services offers and start networking to understand the field!
But Jamie dimon was never an Investment banker, the guy couldn't even play golf nor dress properly without his wife, that's surprising 😂😂
LOL the legend
Goes to show you that there are exceptions to the rules.

Hey Bryan, Appreciate your content really helpful. Please make a video on does age matter for an investment bank analyst. Thank you!!
Great idea
Does it?
Yesss I’ve been after this answer!!!
@@Maryam1. bulge bracket.
What are the usual ages of each position in the firm?
Analyst 21-23 associate-md really depends if ur a to a or MBA
Whats your opinion on tattoos in business? I got one on my forearm and its not offensive and I can cover it up but I wonder how it will affect me in terms of breaking into ib
I think typically (outside of wfh) people wear long sleeves in ib so it doesnt matter
You forgot Executive Director (“ED”), which is right below MD and after VP.

Can u do a video on tips for people who switch over major late in the game and graduate without experience but what to get into IB
Good idea
Can you do one about how to be a top bucket analyst or how to jump from analysts to associate in one year?
Will put it on list
Hi Bryan, Please make a video on "Undergraduate in Engineering to Become Investment Banker".
I have no experience in engineering but that's a path many people do take!

Depends on your school but networking is a good start
Good luck in becoming an associate

Trade Ops sounds cool (don't know much about it) I think any finance background is helpful but most likely scenario is MBA

Thanks so much!
I’d love to see a video which is a little more about what you do in your “free time” away from work.
Hahah you're seeing the product of what I do during my free time :---)
Bold of you to assume IBs have free time
Bryan - I have a first round coming up for SA 2021. Any advice going in?
Make sure to convey that you're genuinely interested that's what really matters at the end
What city do you work in?
Chicago!

Bryan thank you so much for the advice. I am a huge fan of the channel. Keep up the great content.
