High School life in Beverly hills during the most turbulent times in American History.
I was a high school sophomore in 1969. Small town in Northeast Oklahoma called Afton. I lived all of this! The music, dances, football games, high school band & of course the clothes. Then there was cheerleading & being the homecoming queen. Oh, to go back! Thanks for posting.
My grandfather was born in Afton.

My mom was 21yrs to 22yrs old and my dad was 27yrs old to 28yrs old in 1969.

i was only 1 year old in '69 (L.A. born and raised) but i love this old footage of "common folk" far more than anything about celebs or famous people. can't help but wonder, though, who in this clip is still alive and who isn't.
i must add too, though, clips like this always make high school look considerably more fun than i ever remember it being (i went to 3 and never even graduated).
It seems like all high school footage is like that. Docu-style or fictionalized.

I just watched a video of what high school was like in 1987. Wow, things changed a LOT between '69 and '87!
These people in the video are the young version of their now late 60s early 70s older selves. Cool!
The Manson family isn't far from there at that time, crazy to imagine.
We had a Norman Newsreel in 1958-1960. I worked on it. The '60's clothes and hair styles make the girls look a lot better, though!

I don’t know anyone from this class; but I think Leonard Nimoy grew up in the East. By 1969 he was an experienced actor and was working in Hollywood in television.

Back then they used a Super 8 camera didn't have the sound then but if you had a tape recorder you would some how have the lip sync with the film projector.

They are late babyboomers. I was 13 in 1969. I'm 65 now. I remember all the music, clothes, cars, everything. Only I lived in the midwest.
My aunt graduated in 1969 and she is 71 now. My grandparents were born in the 1920's. They are in Heaven now.

Thank you so much for posting these videos of BHHS late '60's. I've been looking for a cousin of mine (on and off) for some time. Her name was Becky Dekking. Probably left school to graduate elsewhere about 1968. If anyone has old pics, a video, etc., please let me know - or at least post. Thanks much!

These kids were all born in early 50's. Good stuff except many of them would see a trip to Viet Nam in their future . Draft lottery was in December of 1969 and if you were unlucky enough to get a low number on the day of your birthday you'd be headed to Nam soon.

My mom graduated high school in 1969, but she doesn't have good memories of those times. She just remembers child abuse and a shitty home life and family life. And those turbulent 60s.

Yes, I was born in 1956, I'm 65. My sister was born in 1954. We are called late boomers.
High school was a difficult time for me I was a foot shorter than the girls 40 lb overweight with crooked yellow teeth and a bad case of gas the ugliest girl in school would not give me the time of day so predictably I played with myself a lot and over time went blind

We went to school dances with live bands all the time. My high-school years were 1970-74.

It was primarily the first haft of the baby boomers who enter their teen years in the late 1950's and early 1960's that had to deal with the Vietnam conflict.
