- On my last day of school at Saint Cloud High School in Osceola County, Florida, I decided to bring my camcorder to film the day.

What's a human being?
Class of 97 checking in, best thing about my HS was having [Off Campus Lunch] for all four years. The world was our oyster for 60 minutes... pool halls, dark pizza joints selling slices, every fast food restaurant, deli's, frozen yogurt with arcade machines in most locations like Mortal Kombat 2.
miss 96 every SINGLE day.. the 90s period. what a time

Wish I could have been part of life before cell phones. Everyone's interacting it's so great. When I was in middle school is when current day smart phones first got popular. I remember recording my friends on my ipod. How times have changed.
Interacting wasn’t that great. Especially if you were bullied at school!

Don't worry, social snubbing was a thing back before cell phones, it 's just easier to hide it now.
@@startracker5895I was horribly bullied in 5,6,7,8th grade. Then when I knocked a few out High school was a breeze. Can’t cry about something forever. It either makes you or breaks you!
Your HS reminds me of my own back in the day, people just wandering around the halls chatting, talking about their favorite bands, after school activities, hangout plans, complaining about the homework assignments, chillaxing with a group of goofy friends that were a mix of all the different clicks. I miss those days including the mcd's runs for fries and a drink at lunch time, the saturday night sleep overs watching movies & playing SNES/Playstation games, talking about the future and just keeping things real. Sometimes just having talks about nothing at all really but it always felt important to us regardless.
At first, i thought it was St Cloud,Minnesota, but after i heard " I'll see you at Winn-Dixie, then i knew it was Florida
I was just about to ask whether it was Minnesota or Florida, thanks! I grew up about 10 - 15 miles from St Cloud, FL. It was a tiny village back then, I suspect it is way more populated now.

My mom graduated from Newberry High School in 1996. She tells me all kinds of fun stories about life back then
You would not believe how much saint cloud has changed I miss the old campus :(

These videos reinforce how strict my school was, lol. This school looks like it would have been far more fun. There's no way they'd let a student roam around with a camera at mine. And pop and snacks in the classroom never happened.
Not even on the last day of term? Most schools were so relaxed on the last day of term. Watching videos was a particular highlight!

Today, it's just a quiet parade out of school with everyone looking down at their phones.
I was 11 years old then. I'm thankful I got the experience a great era. Snack machines bowl of fries all kind of cool food snacks and things you don't see in today's schools

Just found this due to youtube randomness and had to laugh at my own memories as I did graduate in 96 as well in my case in long ago and long moved from Michigan lol I wish my mom or myself had been into pictures or video back then but sadly I have little to no record of my childhood or teenage years,this did hit the nostalgia train tho

I work at a high school, it's not usually going to be like that. If anything, it's very similar. The main difference is the diversity of appearances today far outnumbers what we see in this video. The personalities and the interactions are still very similar.

Our daughter graduated from st cloud high in 2019.

We use to call this town White Cloud.
High school was a very hard time for me I was a foot shorter than the girls about 40 lb overweight with crooked yellow teeth and a bad case of gas the ugliest girl in school would not give me the time of day so predictably I played with myself a lot and over time went blind

Why are there only mostly white kids in these vintage high school videos? Where there alot of blacks back in the 90's? Did blacks use camcorders or have access to them?
Great point I noticed that too. I imagine only they have a lot of money got those video cameras. I don't think cameras were cheap like they are now. I do agree with you though I guess just different places people are different. I have some black friends Jonathan and Michael I grew up with in school I pray they doing well these days great memories at Cherish sometimes I wish I could put my memory of those good old days onto a DVD player or sd card and watch it It will be awesome.. especially those 75 cents 20-oz sodas you don't see that no more.

@@oncode7735 No not really. I guess it all depends on geographical location. Its just like the words pop and soda or yall and you guys. Where im from I usually hear people refer to black people as "blacks" instead of black people. Also im older so that could be why as well. I am in my 40's and to be truthful it was rare for blacks to have camcorders back then. Heck even when the internet came out, it was very rare for blacks to have access to the internet. I would say around 2005 is when you started to see more blacks using the internet.
