honestly I gotta say as an Australian shes one of our strongest acts that the Europeans actually liked, aside from Dami. Guy Sebastian was better live than in the studio though, change my mind. It’ll be interesting to see what Montaigne will do this year (no clue how to spell it lmao)
Eurovision is fun because you go to a pub or your friends place, get really drunk, watch this bizarre camp spectacle together and as it progresses you get weirdly emotionally invested.
As an Irish person the best part about the Eurovision is our commentator who always says whatever the hell he wants and the fact that we won’t stop talking about how we’ve won the most Eurovisions even though we haven’t won in like 20 years
Give over the best one us Graham Norton, who ironically is Irish but does the BBC commentary, following on from another Irishman the late great Sir Terry Wogan, both get / got drunk as the show goes on for ever, seemingly other countries have now jumped on the band wagon.
Eurovision started after World War II, when people saw how divided Europe was and created it to unite a few nations, and many others followed other years. It’s a beautiful thing, and even tho I’m sad countries tat aren’t European don’t know it, I’m also glad, it’s like a special thing for us. And I love it :)
Hatari was the best part of eurovision this year and one of my favourite eurovision acts ever. It seems incredibly weird but when you've been listening to generic ballads for over an hour Hatrid Mun Sigra is a godsend.
@@mollybrown3435 the actual performances are way better and crazier. In the actual performance the singer of australia was on a pole too, together with 2 other people and hatari had LOTs of fire, and the last one danced really funny. So yea it's kinda sad that those weren't shown
You should've looked at Australia's performance at the Eurovision Finale, she was also floating on a stick there and there were animations where she flew into outer space, it was glorious. And hilarious
I am portuguese and even if people love to talk about the metaphor of the song it is a lyrics about telephones and it even uses one expression 'telele' that is literally cell phone but like how you teach a baby to say it so is hella funny
What people don't know is that Eurovision is a mix of odd, kitsch, weird, beautiful, absurd and melodic music. We don't only watch it for the artistry of the songs but also for the madness that comes with them! Man, I haven't watched Eurovision properly for quite a long time, I'm missing it.
Personally I thought this year was kinda weak for Eurovision. If you've never seen any of it before I think there are a lot of very iconic performances you can watch (Verka, Alexander Rybak, Lordi just to name a few). Also make sure to watch "Love love peace peace". It's a Eurovision parody and it's ICONIC
That norwegian guy isn't just making weird boises haha. He's a Sámi - it's like the native americans of norway. They have their own culture and their way of singing that he's presenting - it's called Yoik.
Fun fact Keiino’s standout member (the guy sort of throat singing) is doing a ‘joik’ (pronounced yoik) which is a traditional part of the music of the native Norwegian Sami people!
for a european who has only watched the finale of eurovision and who knows how bad some of the stuff was: there are some deeply disturbing acts in this video that i can never unsee it's also very weird to realise that people outside of europe don't get how amazing eurovision actually is :')
Rhythm inside Euphoria Sound of silence Rise like a phoenix Hard rock hallelujah Fairytale Heroes Are some more “normal” songs from Eurovision you could ready to if you want!
As a German who has been watching this since she was born... I NEVER REALIZED THAT ALL OF THIS IS FRIGGIN WEIRD!!! I just realized that watching this video😂
so, let me explain why everything looks/sounds so bizarre. Basically every now and then a country will do something super weird to grab audiences' attention in order to gather votes and win. By seeing that very weird thing many countries follow that trend but making it even more extreme the next year in hopes of winning as well. So for the last decade that this has been going on things are getting dumber and dumber and I am afraid there is no going back. The winner used to be chosen exclusively from the audience voting, but once a very controversial song won the contest they introduced judges who from that year on have a very big influence on who gets to win.
It's funny to have grown up with that shit and actually in a time when Germany was successful but now we're all just like wait Germany isn't last place what happend
Fun Fact: Being in Europe has nothing to do with who can compete in Eurovision, the country must simply just be in the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) Also, I came for Hatari and stayed for your amazing appreciation for Serhat, Europe's drunk uncle 😂😂
Every year in Eurovision there are some really cringy entries, some that make a grand show, some artsy ones, and some really great ones. That is what love about eurovision, there is a possibility to see everything, from radio friendly pop, to to artsy thing that we have no idea what they are doing :D Diversity man :D
hey dude so about when you said the norwegian song would be bland “if this man wasn’t saying whatever the fuck he’s saying.” he’s an indigenous person of norway (they’re called sami) and what he’s doing is joiking which is a traditional song for the sami which reflects a person, animal or place, and the way you worded your thoughts about him and his part in the song doesn’t really sit well w me :/ i understand that you didn’t know about this but it still sounded quite disrespectful
Being a super Eurovision since 2006, I absolutely love showing it to innocent people who have never seen it before. Their wtf expressions are priceless xD and so is this video!
ABBA got famous bc they won Eurovision! 🤷🏻♀️ I have never watched it but I actually like the song that won last year, I heard it bc of Just Dance 2019 lol.
I love your lack of reaction to Australia being in the EUROvision xD You should do a part two, it's a lot of fun to watch someone unfamiliar with it, react. Also you may want to check out some other performances anyway. I liked Poland this year, although it's not that spectacular, the song was nice.
As an American who has been into Eurovision for 3 years, I must say I don’t regret it. Finally saw it online while in Greece live this year. This year Italy was my favorite. Also when I show other Americans this, they just are flabbergasted and like ‘Europe is more lit than I thought.’ Lol
@@lremoonen you can't say "it's true", because that's the most subjective shit I've ever heard. You dislike it, others like it, that's how opinions work. That's why many people voted for Italy. Your opinion isn't superior to anyone else's.

@@lremoonen wow why u mad
soldi was a complete bop but its also hella sad if u search up the lyrics
SV SCRIB agreed that’s why I believe it deserved the win soldi is musically a good song with a strong and deep message
Growing up watching Eurovision has made me immune to its antics so I always find it funny watching other’s first reactions to it
you didn’t even watch australia’s final performance.., that one is by far superior
Ikr it was phenomenal ☆
honestly I gotta say as an Australian shes one of our strongest acts that the Europeans actually liked, aside from Dami.
As an Irish person the best part about the Eurovision is our commentator who always says whatever the hell he wants and the fact that we won’t stop talking about how we’ve won the most Eurovisions even though we haven’t won in like 20 years
I wanna watch the Irish Eurovision now lmao
Give over the best one us Graham Norton, who ironically is Irish but does the BBC commentary, following on from another Irishman the late great Sir Terry Wogan, both get / got drunk as the show goes on for ever, seemingly other countries have now jumped on the band wagon.
Please react to Verka Serduchka, the “Party for Everybody” performance, Lordi, and Conchita Wurst they’re so iconic
they are the european avengers
yesssss
Oh god Lordi...
For a second I thought Conchita wurst was in Esc and I SCREAMED
@@simoneo6294 What do you mean "you thought"? She actually won it! 😂
honestly the world would be better off if Serhat was our overlord
Well, you can call him any time 😄
girl im litteraly dyinggg but also u should watch a hatari interview those guys are hilarious
When it was announced they made the finals and they just sat there with blank expressions waving slowly at the camera 😂
The singing is just a front. It's actually a contest about which country can come up with the weirdest act.
lmao yeah and the political voting
Eurovision started after World War II, when people saw how divided Europe was and created it to unite a few nations, and many others followed other years. It’s a beautiful thing, and even tho I’m sad countries tat aren’t European don’t know it, I’m also glad, it’s like a special thing for us. And I love it :)
Hatari was the best part of eurovision this year and one of my favourite eurovision acts ever. It seems incredibly weird but when you've been listening to generic ballads for over an hour Hatrid Mun Sigra is a godsend.
I went to the toilet in the middle of eurovision and came back to angry shouting.
hatari is like, great, they call themselves an anti-capitalist bdsm band & they do the funniest shit
Fun fact:
Serhat created the whole country of turkey with is godly uncle powers and then singlehandedly gave birth to every single Turk in existence
What a cool fun fact!
You’re not even watching the actual acts like they were in Eurovision...
Are you upset about that?
@@mollybrown3435 the actual performances are way better and crazier. In the actual performance the singer of australia was on a pole too, together with 2 other people and hatari had LOTs of fire, and the last one danced really funny. So yea it's kinda sad that those weren't shown
All of these are national finals though, not Eurovision.
I can't believe Serhat just ended homophobia. We stan.
watching you lose it over the flailing lady from the first performance had me laughing so hard
Hey Casey, why arent you watching the performances from the finale? those are often way crazyer and fun with the performances...
she should watch the whole recap from the final hahaha
Especially when australia moons all of europe
Eurovision is like a sacred holy day. I love it.
You should've looked at Australia's performance at the Eurovision Finale, she was also floating on a stick there and there were animations where she flew into outer space, it was glorious. And hilarious
I love watching people outside of Europe being confused by Eurovision 😂❤️
I feel really appreciated but also really attacked right now
Casey Aonso 👍
The Portugal music is literally about cell phones XD
No it's not
@@BeatrizSantos-zm8nc It kinda is XD
It's also the title of the song.
@@dudedude198 it's a metaphor
@@BeatrizSantos-zm8nc Yes, but still pretty funny out of context.
I wish they made it to the finals. It would have been real cool.
I am portuguese and even if people love to talk about the metaphor of the song it is a lyrics about telephones and it even uses one expression 'telele' that is literally cell phone but like how you teach a baby to say it so is hella funny
I used to live in Finland and my family moved when I was in grade 3, so I honestly thought that Eurovision was something I made up in my head
It's a Eurovision parody and it's ICONIC
but the switch song.... verkas mum gives me life
Flag parade was good though
Please watch every years winner compilation. I would love to see your reaction to Lordi😂

That norwegian guy isn't just making weird boises haha. He's a Sámi - it's like the native americans of norway. They have their own culture and their way of singing that he's presenting - it's called Yoik.
Fun fact Keiino’s standout member (the guy sort of throat singing) is doing a ‘joik’ (pronounced yoik) which is a traditional part of the music of the native Norwegian Sami people!
for a european who has only watched the finale of eurovision and who knows how bad some of the stuff was: there are some deeply disturbing acts in this video that i can never unsee
it's also very weird to realise that people outside of europe don't get how amazing eurovision actually is :')
Pls make a part 2! This was so hilarious😂 i'm literally dying of laughter with you😂😂😂😂
IMAGINE NOT KNOWING WHAT EUROVISION IS
I live in the U.S and I’m only hearing this now
also btw the man in Norway's entry is singing in a traditional Sami way, that bit is not just there for the laughs.
I’m part Sami so like, thank you fam
Rhythm inside
Euphoria
Sound of silence
Rise like a phoenix
Hard rock hallelujah
Fairytale
Heroes
Are some more “normal” songs from Eurovision you could ready to if you want!
Ahh, yes, the Eurovision, it’s... Something? Idk lmao
I know that I’m 7 months late to this but I need to say that the lead singer of the Icelandic band is the son of the Icelandic ambassador to the uk
mirain griffiths I feel like this is appropriate
Mattias??
Isn't it the drummer?
Does anyone else remember how iconic does dubstep grandmas from Russian where that one year ? 😂
🎵🎶party for everybody dance come on and dance🎵🎶🥐🥯🍞🥖🥨🥧🧁🍪💃 WHAT AN ICONIC BOP!!!
It's funny to have grown up with that shit and actually in a time when Germany was successful but now we're all just like wait Germany isn't last place what happend
UK is now the new last. So you are safe to go Germany.
@@nacht98
Uf if you think the UK song is bad, you should see Croatia's.
Definite last..
Lmao us the Big 5 always losing cause the other countries hate us 4 having a place at the final
oK first country up in EUROvision is.... AusTrALiaA !1!!!11!
Everyone always gets scared by Georgia's act this year but I honestly love it and nobody can change my mind
Fun Fact: Being in Europe has nothing to do with who can compete in Eurovision, the country must simply just be in the EBU (European Broadcasting Union)
Also, I came for Hatari and stayed for your amazing appreciation for Serhat, Europe's drunk uncle 😂😂
Love your profile picture
Every year in Eurovision there are some really cringy entries, some that make a grand show, some artsy ones, and some really great ones. That is what love about eurovision, there is a possibility to see everything, from radio friendly pop, to to artsy thing that we have no idea what they are doing :D Diversity man :D
honestly i am a full hatari stan after eurovision.... anticapialist bdsm LEGENDS
stan anticapitalistic, bdsm band stan hatari
But this isn't supposed to be a political thing. (Unless it promotes Peace and Love)
me: omg i love hatari i can’t wait for her to react to them
casey: so this is a song by hatriđ mun sigra and it's called hatari
me: 🙃
This just scratches the surface. 2019 eurovision was pretty tame lol
hey dude so about when you said the norwegian song would be bland “if this man wasn’t saying whatever the fuck he’s saying.” he’s an indigenous person of norway (they’re called sami) and what he’s doing is joiking which is a traditional song for the sami which reflects a person, animal or place, and the way you worded your thoughts about him and his part in the song doesn’t really sit well w me :/ i understand that you didn’t know about this but it still sounded quite disrespectful
sizzmarr can I just say this is exactly how to word a criticism - graceful and respectful well done and I agree👏
Being a super Eurovision since 2006, I absolutely love showing it to innocent people who have never seen it before. Their wtf expressions are priceless xD and so is this video!
Desi Esc i showed Hatari to everyone i knew. 😂😂 this expression 😳 on their faces was priceless
ABBA got famous bc they won Eurovision! 🤷🏻♀️ I have never watched it but I actually like the song that won last year, I heard it bc of Just Dance 2019 lol.
@@caseyaonso4270 LMAO YES They did the song Waterloo!
@@caseyaonso4270 Celine Dion was actually won eurovision too!
I love your lack of reaction to Australia being in the EUROvision xD
You should do a part two, it's a lot of fun to watch someone unfamiliar with it, react.
Also you may want to check out some other performances anyway. I liked Poland this year, although it's not that spectacular, the song was nice.
Eurovision needs to become popular in America cause we just have massive parties and laugh at all the performances whilst getting drunk it's amazing
"And if you're wondering: wtf is Eurovision?"
Us european peeps: excuse me how would anyone nOT knOW about eurovision 😤😤😤
As an American who has been into Eurovision for 3 years, I must say I don’t regret it. Finally saw it online while in Greece live this year. This year Italy was my favorite.
Also when I show other Americans this, they just are flabbergasted and like ‘Europe is more lit than I thought.’ Lol
In all honesty, Italy should’ve won this year (not even Italian but their song was A BOP)
Italy brings it every. single. year. But soldi was _particularly_ good.
Italy wasn’t even that good
hi sisters that’s your oPINIONNN
@@lremoonen you can't say "it's true", because that's the most subjective shit I've ever heard. You dislike it, others like it, that's how opinions work. That's why many people voted for Italy. Your opinion isn't superior to anyone else's.
I’m 100% That B*tch it’s very subjective.. but also, I personally liked it because it wasn’t a Eurovision song. It was just.. a song. I could hear it on the radio or on my own and it was a fun listen.
Take Denmark or Spain for example; I loved their songs! But it was very “Eurovision”y and I found myself listening to them only once after the actual contest, because it didn’t work for me outside of ESC context.
