Hey guys!! welcome back to the channel!! I’m super excited for today’s video because it’s a first for my channel since it’s the only time (or at least i think it is lmao) that I’ve really revisited something ive already filmed a video on. i was a little apprehensive to do it hence why its taken me so long to put out but i really wanted to read the ratalouis x casey fanfic on camera and have been saving it for that reason so here we are! this time around i thought we could look at the things we didn’t check out as much in the last video considering last time it was only an 8 minute video. i also wanted to try a different format this time around where instead of just reading the descriptions and tags we actually read bits of the stories and have the story text at the bottom of the screen. let me know if you liked being able to read along on screen while i read out loud or if you prefer to just have nothing on screen for future videos that this style could work for! anyways hopefully you guys get ~comfortable by a fire place and get ready to listen~ to the heartwarming tales of jake paul, team ten imagines, weird fan fictions about childhood trains and cars and of course, angelina ballerina. as always i hope y’all know how much i appreciate you watching, if you did enjoy the video feel free to give it a like if you want and subscribe if you haven’t already but otherwise ill see you guys in the next one! :)

@@dianeyoung8130 it would've been fine if it didn't have multiple of biggest cliches to exist like the girl being a virgin/the guy sleeping around, his parent dying from a car accident which is why he's rude and then a family member who's classist and threatens her to leave. I would've maybe still liked it if it had the two last tropes but because of the virgin girl/guy sleeping around trope I hated it. Really sick of that trope in general
@@hopes7184 It is a retelling of pride and prejudice and aside from the mystery aspect the author stays pretty true to it. I didn't think it was really trope-y. A lot of books do that but I think it handled it well. I actually found it to be really sex-positive and I think a lot of girls need to read books where the girls needs are actually considered. I think the main guy is the sweetest which is a nice change from how awful most wattpad guys are. He never really sleeps around in the book either other than his one girl friend at the very beginning and was never disrespectful. I think all romances are a little trope-y. I kind of go into them knowing this and expecting it. I guess it just depends what tropes you like and which you don't. Like i cannot read a book if the guys is toxic and has anger problems which is why I couldn't stand After. But a lot of people like it so *shrug*. I also just really like mysteries and I like what the author is doing with this one/ am curious to see the character development the main girl goes through.

I feel like it’s a 50/50ish thing. Quotev’s only redeeming quality is that the website itself is so well organized and easier to use.

Dude, I was up at 5 onetime face timing my friend and reading Wattpad. And we were on the Dark side of Wattpad by then, and we really should have gone to bed hour ago. But I stumbled across this gem titled "Kermit x Grinch (smut) Mac and cheese and ass eating; a tale of true love (BL)". I KID YOU NOT. We read it together over facetime, and DUDE, I swear that's the shit right there. Never been the same since.

Wattpad has some batshit insane stories. I still have flashbacks to that Taenald Krump fic. But by far the worst one I ever read was a Dora the Explorer and Gordon Ramsey fic.

What i love about wattpad is that we can find a beautifully written hidden gem while the others are just trash. But seriously tho, there's a great amount of beautifully written fanfics if you're lucky enough to find 'em. Usually like HP fanfics, Mikaelsons fanfics, TVD fanfics
7:20 Just a tip for Wattpad writers (specifically them because I see this a lot on Wattpad and I've caught myself doing it as well), don't explain the entirety of your character. Even if they are the main character, we should slowly uncover their past. It makes the reader more interested, because if you explain everything, then they basically already know the story. Also, instead of solely writing the characters background with narration, you should try having the dialogue, subtext, and reactions/actions hint at things like past abuse, in this example (especially early on before you drive into it.) When handling past abuse or other serious topics, try to portray these things respectfully. The beginning of the first chapter isn't always the best place for such a deep, sad tone. Instead of explaining your character through narration, just explain them by having them act and struggle with the way they are.
Also, about the way they handled a topic relating to foster care, abuse and addiction (in this story that I tagged the timing of), it definitely shouldn't have been so matter-of-factly. Especially because this is supposed to be a first-person story. Personally, I just can't see someone explaining their unsettling past this way.

Wattpad has some legit works of art but smothered by “I Was Jake Paul’s Sex Slave” and “GaY SmUT Fics (REQUESTS CLOSED FOR CATCHUP!!!!)” And “My Abusive Bad Boy Is My Baby Daddy (18+)”
I stand by my opinion that writing fanfiction is a great start to writing. I think the problem is that they get popular and the writer never changes anything after that. They see success in mediocre fanfiction and never develop outside of that. I wrote terrible creepypasta fanfiction for four years before I realized I could write something original and build my own world, now I'm entering contests and pursuing a writing career. Some people find joy in writing fanfiction and that's completely fine, but most had their start with fanfiction. Wattpad is a strange place to write on, but on the original work side they can be quite polite and helpful. My experience with fanfiction was terrible, I chose one of the worst fandoms to write in.

I agree there are many, many cringey stories on wattpad but I also think that wattpad is great place for people who are trying to improve their writing skills and post it somewhere... It means a lot to them
