Another high school age gay kid trying to adopt the personality of Chanel Oberlin in an attempt to be funny/edgy and failing spectacularly because they have absolutely no charisma? I could NOT believe it.
also lars is that kid who comes out of the closet in middle school and thinks he has to make "being gay" his entire personality and tries to play the sassy gay best friend stereotype but ends up just being meaner than any of the popular girls he hangs out with
Mortem Malum idk if this was a legitimate question but IMO it’s the same reason kids from tame suburbs get super into ~edgy~ culture. Gay kids realize that they don’t fit into the “norm” and won’t be able to no matter how hard they try, but since they’re young, they don’t quite know who they really are outside of trying to fit in so they try too hard to fit the gay stereotype for a few years until they figure out what works for them. Since the media and our culture usually have a strict set of gay stereotypes, they tend to gravitate towards and try to emulate those, just like a “badass” kid who tries smoking cigarettes even though they make him sick. The meanness is probably a result of deeper insecurity which happens a lot with kids who feel they don’t fit in (and kids who do. So just kids haha) These kids typically grow out of this phase for the most part after middle and/or high school. They’re usually alright at heart.

@@lilysloves two kpop idol recently passed because they took they own life. They were constantly bullied by the industry and trolls online. They went to their companys to ask for them to put a stop to it and they got ignored because they weren't the company's favorites
So I'm a new viewer in corona quarantine, so hearing Casey refer to everything as an "epidemic" at the beginning of December 2019 has me worried about this woman's wicked voodoo magic powers
The clout chasing era is also horrifying because so many little kids are growing up watching people like Jake Paul and other “shock humor” creators, seeing how popular they are, and then actually imitating their personality. Like, talk to ANY middle school boy nowadays. It’s like a “feminist cringe compilation” got injected into their brain. They literally just repeat what they hear their favorite creators saying, without actually knowing what any of it means.
I'm turning 30 this year and Im so out of the loop with the young people, so the people you mention I have never heard of, and the jargon you use I've never heard of, so I'm learning a lot.
It's kind of obvious by this point that Dr.Phil's show is pure entertainment. Putting people like this on his show helps no one but those involved gain relevance. These kinds of clout chasers genuinely just aren't funny or entertaining or talented enough to develop any longevity, it's sad :/
I have a theory that the clout culture is partially a result of RUclips's current algorithm and system in general. It wasn't like this back in the days that RUclipsrs were more appreciated for their hard work.
It brought me so much joy amongst this... rancid content (not you, the internet I just so gross) that you mentioned Sara Schauer because I feel like she's one of the least problematic former viners who came back to the internet.
Omg I saw the weird dog boy yesterday at the weed store and didn’t know who he was until I watched this and omg. He was totally looking around trying to see if anyone recognized him. Totally desperate. Thanks for this video.
I think things like this are the latest version of people trying to capitalize on cheap shock value, like any "joke" in poor taste. If anything at all has changed its how people trying to become infamous often are doing *real harm* or at least trying to be as convincing as possible (contrasted with someone like Jake Paul, who clearly has an on persona and has talked about how some of his more extreme videos were fake). Great video btw!
i definitely enjoyed the video because im reminded that im not alone in thinking that people like this are insane..you see people like larz etc and then you see how popular stuff like that is and you wonder "wtf am i the insane one??"
Your videos actually have content and I love that. You are smart, organized, and classy; I love your videos and I feel like you are actually doing positive things for this platform. Stay classy Casey 💗💯
your infamy/fame point does make sense. We gave lil nas x fame and we still consider him relevant /check on him. The backpack kid was infamous and we all shortly forgot about him after cringing for a few weeks. Infamy always burns out quicker than fame.
You got a new sub. I was so shocked that when you were building up for the one and only clout chaser, my mind literally spit out Jake Paul and two seconds later, you confirmed. We are on the same brainwave.
you're absolutely 1000000% right that we should be reporting content such as these and ignoring them, definitely with you on that. thanks for this video!
I really appreciate you making these kinds of videos, because you handle them in such a mature and easy to follow way that I think they're very helpful to people who aren't part of these communities. It'd be awesome if more parents and people who are around kids old enough to be exposed to this stuff watched your videos so that they are aware of what's out there. I have younger cousins who are always on RUclips, and I'm glad I know just how bad this platform can be so I know what to watch out for and talk to them about if needed. Thanks again, Casey!
wow. you are so well spoken. you sound very wise.. thank you for shedding light on a topic of such disturbing nature, I'm glad to see at least one influencer is taking action and spreading awareness about these things
This video definitely needed some content warnings at the beginning... this is some heavy content. Well executed video, but there are some warnings needed. Your more ‘analytical’ videos are always really well done!
These are videos that not only are old, but have millions upon millions of views and are littered throughout the internet. Even worse is I can’t imagine how many thousands more videos she could have put here that would have been just as shocking. Maybe, we should realize her point. These people are making horrible and vile videos, and it is helping them become viral. They are spreading. Which means you can expect a hell of a lot more. The sad thing is nothing she showed wasn’t passed around and enjoyed by millions already. The “heavy content” you refer to seems to pass the internet standards. I don’t get how anyone can be online anymore and not realize it’s a cess pool full of videos pushed on you with titles and images in thumbnails you didn’t want to know or see. That make you feel disgusted. I’ve seen videos of abused kids meant to tell their story. No. Don’t show me a bruised face and sad eyes. I don’t want to see that. I end up thinking about it all day. Thinking about how many people are learning if these horrors and feeling sad and not actually gaining anything from doing so. It’s pointless. It’s great to get people to click. It seems honest. But just exploits a child’s miserable and sad life and death and that’s it. At least tell me how I can never let it happen again. Or who failed here. Anyway, my point is, yeah I’m shocked. 3 years later, I wonder if it’s really gotten so bad now that you see what I’m saying. Actually, it does seem like uglier things are somehow becoming more and more accepted. Let’s understand that people like this are showing us these sick things because their point is that these things are sick, disturbing, and being treated like a cute dog video. That kids will see these things. That we have young people learning from the huge views and fame gained from these videos. Her point is you can’t avoid it. These things aren’t removed right away and the creators blacklisted.
Im a little confused as to why some people people are asking for "trigger warnings" when Casey gives a mini run down before showing the stuff. Casey: this next video has abuse of an actual dog *shows the video Audience: WHY DIDNT YOU WARN ME? Did you think Casey was lying? I was prepared to look away when she started taking about each video, before the actual video.
i dont think you really understand the reasoning behind trigger warnings, but triggers aren't limited to visual cues (photos and videos etc), but talking about a certain topics may trigger someone, and that your way of deal with something may be great for you, but for someone else it might not.
@@aliceool Makes sense. However, if I’m Buster Bluth discussion of seals or a joke about them or the story of someone who lost a hand and powered through may trigger me and I relive serious trauma. Since seals aren’t an everyday trigger, I’d say maybe I’d focus on how to handle these moments with a therapist so I can minimize the effect it has on me and my mental health. It seems easy to cover your basis with the obvious things, however, you can’t protect all your viewers from something that may “trigger” them (which doesn’t really describe anything but someone having a feeling) and we can’t expect everyone to understand the importance or not make mistakes. We also can’t hold people to a trigger warning standard. Especially in this instance. Animal abuse is real. Most people can’t handle it. You don’t hear a loud tone and warning before you hear that Sarah McLaughlin song and see those said doggy eyes that always make me feel life is horrible and there’s no point… briefly. I never met someone who doesn’t hate it and turn it off. But it happens. They can’t avoid talking about animals who need help because…. Animals need help! I think it makes sense to share what you did about how just words may trigger a person, however, how do you want the warning properly conveyed in a way that won’t put the triggering term in your mind? Truly asking. It’s always worth passing things along so people can be more mindful. But it also makes sense to acknowledge this is a standard not everyone can go by and it’s also difficult to do it in a way that covers everyone. So, let’s also at least try to express that learning to deal with how you feel when triggered is always necessary because you cannot control enough to feel safe in avoiding what upsets you. Best of luck.

@@lilysloves two kpop idol recently passed because they took they own life. They were constantly bullied by the industry and trolls online. They went to their companys to ask for them to put a stop to it and they got ignored because they weren't the company's favorites
What a shitty timeline we live in.
i mean TECHNICALLY we are all dying so like....
ok edgelord
2023 and it's worst. Andrew Tate didn't help either. I go to a 7th - 12th grade school and these middle school boys are literally broken
Last time I was this early, we were watching that Chicken Girls movie lol
ALL of the boys at my old school stanned jake paul and it was AWFUL
Is no one gonna mention the "I think we ALL" reference 😭
RIGHT lmaoooo the victoria justice sticker casually pops up
I think we ALL were going to mention that...
"He's reached the point of desperacy" is that a combination of desperation and lunacy?
Very thin line separating those two states
casey is extremely beautiful she has such pretty eyelashes
Legend has it if you comment early enough Casey Aonso herself will reply...
The legend, the Canadian, the epidemian, Casey aonso
It’s an epidemic
Her: We're looking at an online epidemic
2020: Well we're looking at a social, physical, Mental and Emotional epidemic known as Covid-19
One reason why I always watch you is that you give off such calm, wholesome vibes. I watched Tana Mongeau once and I got a headache from her screaming
Omg I saw the weird dog boy yesterday at the weed store and didn’t know who he was until I watched this and omg. He was totally looking around trying to see if anyone recognized him. Totally desperate. Thanks for this video.
Is he doing okay?
18:55 great now I know I can be a dreadful person and gay, truly these two are the gay trail blazers we've been looking for.
The epidemic thing really hasn't aged well lol
Just_passing_by i was about to comment that lol
more like a pandemic.....
Larz literally failed at modeling that’s why he’s doing stupid stuff now lmfao
Larz is so gross, he calls people ugly when he is literally nothing to look at twice
Me watching this during an actual epidemic listening o Casey call this an epidemic: 😶
you are great and chillin' honestly lmao i been laughing for idk how many vids straight
and on this episode of youtubr things: *clout e p i d e m i c*
i definitely enjoyed the video because im reminded that im not alone in thinking that people like this are insane..you see people like larz etc and then you see how popular stuff like that is and you wonder "wtf am i the insane one??"
And here I am trying to keep my life as low key as possible, just imagining the fame these people have gives me anxiety.
Ah, a Casey video, yes. Time for that disturbingly subtle background music I'm not sure I'm really hearing that makes me question my sanity.
wow. you are so well spoken. you sound very wise.. thank you for shedding light on a topic of such disturbing nature, I'm glad to see at least one influencer is taking action and spreading awareness about these things
I just checked out Bameron's twitter. She gets maybe 5 likes per tweet on average. The most viral internet star in existence, if I do say so myself.
Casey say "process"
it's so cute
thank you for being so real
This video definitely needed some content warnings at the beginning... this is some heavy content. Well executed video, but there are some warnings needed. Your more ‘analytical’ videos are always really well done!
Aly Wise 100% agreed
If somebody doesn't like something, they can literally just exit out, lmao. It's the internet, you can do that.
I’ve been binging your videos everyday since I’ve found you! Thank you for being the voice of reason
Im a little confused as to why some people people are asking for "trigger warnings" when Casey gives a mini run down before showing the stuff.
Casey: this next video has abuse of an actual dog *shows the video
Audience: WHY DIDNT YOU WARN ME?
Best of luck.
i’m glad u made this video!! i love ur funny videos so much but i’m glad to be made aware of things like this!!
I say this in the nicest, most lighthearted way possible, but Casey's makeup here is giving those insta edits of celebs that just yassify their faces
casey mentioning charlie is something I never thought would happen but am here for it
Watching this from 2023 thinking "Oh you think THAT'S an epidemic? That's cute, let's check back in 3 months ok?"
Thanks for shedding light on this Casey.
People can be so disgusting
Are they dying because of...
An epidemic?
Acute clout deficiencies..
Holly Bearden this comment has a whole different meaning now 🙃
i was happy that you uploaded and i was ecstatic when i saw it was 30 minutes
the whole epidemic thing aged like fine wine ✨ casey knew what was coming for us this year
