    Another awesome video! How are you determining the spacing of the distance measurement marks?

    • @MountainBreezeStudio
      @MountainBreezeStudio  3 года назад

      Efforts have been made to reflect the scale of the distance indicator originally displayed on the Helios lens as it is. There may be some errors due to inaccuracies in measurement process. :)

    Do you think that you will ever design a rehousing for the Mir - 1b?
    It would be absolutely amazing if you could!

      Unfortunately I don't have this lens. Since my wishlist is full of other lenses, there is no empty spot for this lens. :(
      I don't know when it will be, but I'll try when I get this lens.

    Kinda sad that you dont make more of them, but I get that can can only really make em if you have the lens in person.
    So Im asking if its possible for the STEP or F3D files to be released, or some other editable format so people can mod them for their own lenses?

    I love the Canon FD 50 1.4 lens housing! Can you do a housing for a Vivitar 28 2.8? I love that lens but it's so small and needs some better functionality.

    Thank you for your time and work ! Great ! May I ask how did you calculated the focus and iris measurements on housing rings ? Are they true values ?

    • @MountainBreezeStudio
      @MountainBreezeStudio  3 года назад +1

      Based on the scale that was originally marked on the lens, it is only displayed in the same proportions, so I hope you will use this as a reference only. (Actually, even this was done by hand, so precision is lacking) Don't trust this scale (numerical) too much. In most cases, you'll be using a digital camera, so I think it's a good idea to check the focus directly with the camera's live view :)

  • @netlika

    Why are there teeth on the aperture ring if it moves along the axis very strongly when focusing? Or the teeth need to be made wider.

    MIR 20mm f3.5
    MIR 1B 37mm f2.8
    Jupiter 9 85mm f2
    Or the TAIR 135mm f2.8?
    Would love to see it!

    Hey! This is a game changer! I have a question regarding the inner metal hood . I can’t seem to find that hood anywhere besides on aliexpress and that is a month and a half wait time. You have any other places to find the exact hood with front filter thread? I don’t want to end up buying the wrong one!
    Thank you again for all of your hard work!

    Hello, thanks a lot for sharing. Does front part moving or not? I want to attach mattbox

    • @MountainBreezeStudio
      @MountainBreezeStudio  3 года назад

      Unfortunately, the front housing part wraps around the hood inside, so it's probably not fully fixed and can rotate. You could either attach the mat box directly to the filter step-up ring or secure the mat box with a camera rig system using a 15mm rod.

    If we are not going to get the 55mm lens hood from AliExpress, due to extremely long shipping times. What is the lens hood length? I found different options on amazon in the US but there all different lengths and the AliExpress version doesn't share that info.

    • @MountainBreezeStudio
      @MountainBreezeStudio  3 года назад +2

      I personally don't think there are any bad lenses. Each has their own personality and is very interesting, and if used properly, old lenses are also useful for obtaining image effects that are difficult to obtain with modern lenses. Like a middle-aged gentleman who has unique charms, even if he is not young and handsome. It is difficult to say that the Soviet lens is an optically superior lens compared to the lenses of the similar period, but I think it is a 'Not bad' lens. I thought it would be useful for creating a unique vintage footage effect in digital imaging as well, and I just wanted to increase the usability by upgrading the housing. :)
