You can put thin tape on areas where the screws gonna touch to protect the lens and when removing wont have issue. Other method is to put drop of glue on bottom of the screw and let it dry as the dry glue act as rubber or plastic that prevent scratching.
Thanks for the video. I'm seriously interested in housing my Helios 44-2, but FIVE DAYS to print the files seems a bit crazy. There are companies selling rehoused Helios 44-2 lenses with these 3D printed parts for $300. I'm thinking that's the way to go for anyone who doesn't own or have access to a 3D printer. How hard is it to get all the step up rings installed after the housing is in place?
So I just build the cine mod, and I was wondering if I could ask a couple of questions. How do you change the focus throw as I would say currently it’s not even both sides. Also I cannot find a way to change the aperture or know what aperture I’m using?
Great video. Thanks for the information! Is it possible to use the re-housing with an m42-to-SonyE-adapter? I'd like to use it with an Sony FX3. Thanks a lot!
hello I love how the lens looks, I just bought a HELIOS, it arrived in a few weeks, I don't have a 3d printer and I don't know much about it, I live in Florida, could you print it for my lens and send it to me House?? how much would it cost me???
Hey! Since these prints are plastic, it’s best to make this mod if you have a 3D printer yourself as if something breaks you can just print a new part. I don’t really sell the prints because it’s cost prohibitive

This is super dope . I’m gonna look into printing some stuff too . Nice video 👊🏽
Thanks! Yes I am excited this is like a whole new world to me

As long as you put them all together before screwing then into the lens it’s pretty easy
Nice video! Do you think it’s a problem to use a slightly bigger mount from m42 to Sony e mount ? Because I didn’t found a small adapter like yours 😬
I am sure you could get a m42 to Sony emount, I would look on Amazon or Aliexpress
@@ReachFilms Ok thanks for the fast answer! Keep on doing nice video quality and also very helpful with all the links in the description !

I don’t see why it wouldn’t work
What size of lens cap did you print?
I have my step up rings going to 72mm so it all depends on how far you are going
@@ReachFilms awesome how has it held up over the past year? I did a print at 50% in fill, will that hold up? also where did you buy the screws?
@@gibblsworthiscool it’s held up fine, however I don’t use it on a daily basis. As for the screws I got them on Amazon
@@gibblsworthiscool links to the screws are in the description
Wonder if it would work with the 44m
It’s specifically made for the 44-2 58mm so unfortunately I don’t think it will they have different bodies
43mm setup ring ? Doesn’t this lens start at 49mm
what % infill did you find worked best - have the same printer - would love to know your print setting - thanks in advance
Hey! For this project I used 50% infill
@@ReachFilms Thanks for the fast response mate! appreciate you
What infill percentage did you use? I may have missed that in the video
I used 75% infill may have been overkill but I like using a lot of infill for function camera gear
Can you also do this with cheaper printer? like ender 3
Yes I don’t see why not, just make sure you print at a slow speed for the most accurate print
How many hours per piece on average?
It’s going to vary per printer but I had mine on the highest quality so the big pieces took around 12 hours
@@ReachFilms I think I'm just going to do the smaller pieces and forgo the big piece
@@rezjrprod the really big piece took around 16 hours for me
