I think it looks marvelous. The extra braid definitely fills it out so that it gives the proper shape. Well done. Gorgeous. Take care (and I think you could go grocery shopping in a snood and a t-shirt - start a trend)

I probably could. It would definitely help the Tues of my mask stay in place

This video was super helpful. My hair is longer, but still not long enough for the braids to wrap. I'd been trying several ways to keep the darn thing from being dragged backwards and your styling for the bill. Thank you!

    It’s a lovely snood.
Your hair looks fantastic like that.
    The extra braid looks nice.

    So pretty!
I know you made this some time ago, but I still feel compelled to suggest that a hairnet under your hairnet would keep errant strands from poking through the snood’s interstices.

I've considered it but I change my hair color so often 😅

I'm in the process of making a similar head piece for an Elizabethan headpiece. I'm considering filling under the snood with fake hair so that it's more pillow-shaped. Then I want to put a braid that is coiled with strings of pearls in FRONT of the snood. I have seen many hair-wrapping videos and pictures that show this effect, and I think it's a really pretty look with the snood.

I think like in the portrait if you wore some sort of pearl earring it would be a more complete look. The thick braid works really well I think and I can't wait to see how you made the Snood! :3

I love it! I am so tempted to wear something similar all over the place! (laundromat, grocery store, library,...) I'm really looking forward to your video with the creation details. It's also comforting to see you rocking the big hair look with shorter hair, as mine is shorter, too. Great video! And I always wondered if the two types of braids had names; I just thought they were both "french." I'm glad to know their real names.

Honestly... I don't know if I got the names right 😂 don't quote me.

When I was a little girl in Sweetwater, Texas, there was a lady in town who wore a snood. :)

Marty what is the difference between a french braid and a dutch braid? Is it just that the plaited part of the hair is above the hairline in the dutch style but the french is even with the hairline?

Brissy Girl in a French braid you cross the side strand OVER the middle one, whereas in a Dutch braid you cross the side strand UNDER the centre strand.
