    Finally, a snood tutorial that teaches the correct way to wear a snood. Which I have been doing as you described for years. I add wig pieces for a fuller back section..

    How pretty you look. My mom used to wear that make up and hair style in her youth. Congratulations.

      Glad it was helpful! I love wearing snoods, just like turbans they are one of those "lazy hairstyles" that just look so great and put together. The sweater is from Collectif, it's an older style from a few years ago and one of my favorites.

    Another fabulous video, thank you! For me I style this much the same, but I do the front section of hair last, it allows me to put the edge of the snood closer up, and then the pinning of the front section helps hold the snood in place. 💖

    Hello Christine,
    I am a very safe and happily married 73 year old male (so please don't take my comments as rude or politically incorrect as they are anything but that) - and I was just viewing a few sites relative to Medieval England where I came upon the word "snood". I have been a complete and totally devoted Anglophile since the early 1960's (of course, related to the absolutely amazing and never to be seen again musical British Invasion) and the word intrigued me as I think my Mom and Grandma occasionally used the word. I came upon your site and watched - finding your information really interesting. While you may find this somewhat strange what I was actually impressed with was you. I consider RUclips to be a terrific and fascinating tool when used appropriately although you and I know there are also many somewhat to very disturbing areas/videos within the RUclips site. This is what I found so absolutely refreshing with your presentation. You are a very attractive young lady with a terrific personality to match - as evidenced by your absolute on-camera ease. You are simply a "natural" in front of the camera and a pleasure to watch.
    I have gotten to an age where I have come to realize that if I have a positive, encouraging or simply "nice" thing to say to somebody (even to the point of complimenting a service worker, cashier, bank teller etc. on her particular scent or clothing item on any given day) I will not hesitate to mention it to this individual if it is appropriate at that time.
    Maybe I do it for selfish reasons - as I actually feel better for having given the compliment) and I just know the recipient feels quite a bit to a lot better having received the compliment - as I have been observing this for a few years now.
    It could actually be a type of "pay it forward" behavior and I would be willing to bet (and sincerely hope) the recipients do the same type of thing to someone else sometime during the rest of their day.
    Sorry for rambling but I just wanted to offer my comments on your presentation - with a few extra kind words from an "old fart".
    All the very best to you and those you hold dear,
    Terry

    Is the hair net meant to match the color of one’s hair (yours does nicely)? Do they sell them in different colors?

    • @TheGlambassador
      @TheGlambassador  2 года назад +2

      Most hair nets do come in "natural" hair colors like blonde, light and dark brown and black and are intended to blend in with your natural hair. I've only seen a few that were made to match redheads, but they did/do come in other "fashion colors" like grey, green and blue.

    how do you cut the front and top of your hair? I have long straight hair and I want that look , but have no way of explaining it to a hairdresser.

    • @TheGlambassador
      @TheGlambassador  2 года назад

      My hair is cut in a horseshoe cut with no layers. If you check out my blog, I have a post about how I hut my hair. I also did a very recent TikTok showing my haircut, those might help.

      I have not made a snood myself, sadly I don’t possess the talent for crocheting. But I’m certain if you check out Pinterest or Etsy, you’ll be sure to find a pattern for one.

    Were snoods only common in the 30’s, 40’s or 50’s or are they popular today? I don’t really see them today where I am. I do like the look!

    • @TheGlambassador
      @TheGlambassador  2 года назад +5

      They were very common during those eras, but the snood is much older. They were worn during the medieval eras and were quite popular again in the Victorian era. They aren't so popular today, but maybe they will make a comeback in the future.

    Thanks Christine! I do have a question. Should the hair in the snood be curled? Is it ok if it isn’t as long as it’s in a hair net? Thanks! ❤️Rose

    • @TheGlambassador
      @TheGlambassador  3 года назад +2

      No, it doesn't have to be curled, but it does work best where there is some volume to fill out the snood. So you could tease your hair a bit and then gather it into the hairnet. Or as I mentioned you could use a hair piece or loose extensions to fill it in.

    • @TheGlambassador
      @TheGlambassador  3 года назад +3

      I don't actually wear my hair natural very often. I always set my hair in rollers to give it a more uniform curl pattern. By this is a great style for naturally curly hair.
