I remember when this song came out back in the mid 1990s. It was a breath of fresh air in the days of artists like Garth Brooks 🤢🤮 The 1990s is when country music started it's decline. It ain't country unless there is a steel guitar in the band.

Last comment 10 yrs ago? WTF is every one dead? This is talent from GOD! So much has been given to us, I'm blessed every day to hear so much from Junior to Pavarotti, to The Ramones, to The Beach Boys, The Rankin Family! I love falling down the rabbit hole once in a while!
I was speeding on my motorcycle and listening to this when the CHP pulled me over in LA. Young officer never heard this before ... he let me go. Thanks JR.!!!
I think Junior's version of this song came out around 1993-94. It's a cover of an old Red Simpson hard core country tune from 1966 but Junior injects serious life into it and adds another 16 bars of a seriously sizzling solo!!! I just remember hearing this my freshman year of college in 1995 for the first time and literally the next day starting to save money to buy an electric guitar and an amplifier. Almost 30 years later lots of things have changed in our world, but I still play guitar and it all started with this amazing picker.
This song came in as I was listening to random outlaw country on Amazon music. Thank you, Amazon! You introduced me to a new favorite! Love this song, and can't wait to hear more from Junior Brown!
Junior Brown is the best live guitar player on the planet!! Saw him, he played alone for 30 seconds, full on standing ovation!!! See him if you love geetar.
First heard of Junior Brown listening to A Prairie Home Companion in May of '99. Highway Patrol was an instant hit with me and I went about buying Junior's CDs. Great music!
Duwain Eddie, reincarnate. And something for your soul. God i love that 50's sound. It's so fresh and new and something true. Expectation of hope and then a wall. Drive-in movies and the start of something.
Man I watched Junior play all over Austin, you name the park, juke joint, or arena - we love JB. Now I'm stranded in NYC, oh but I see that Lone Star rising, Junior is gonna shred the blues at BB Kings on the 24th - I will be there.
Yup she is fantastic and talented. Most of the the time the volume of her guitar is not loud enough and is drowned out by the other instruments. They are the perfect duo. A rare talent these days with all the rubbish on the mainstream radio stations. Thank god for youtube. youtuberepeater is great too for looping a song.
I remember seeing Junior Brown on David Letterman, I believe it was, back in the early 90's doing this song. The next day I went out and ordered his cassette tape. Sucks because it took about two weeks to receive it! No Amazon and no internet downloading in those ancient days! I love metal, I make my neighbors listen to Maiden, Overkill and Slayer, they don't have a choice! But they also get a hefty dose of Hank Jr, David Allan Coe and Junior Brown, right along with 'em!
