Most homes up North have mudrooms. No one enters through the front doors directly into the living room.

FYI some people REALLY hate walking in the front door and seeing all the way through the house. Of course thieves really like it.

Very beautiful, but they lost a lot of their dining space. Would have loved to see the bathroom which took a lot of the kitchen/dining space.
me too, really wanted to see the bathroom, and the shower in it. Very clever to have shared part of the wall length to have the shower in one section and the kitchen pantry in the other.

I'd think at least first attempting to see if matching flooring is available would be the best use of money. The stuff is mass produced! The savings could go towards a deck or pool or addition or lawn mower.

There's a vent by the front door - shouldn't this have been moved?
I thought that too. Very strange place to have a vent, right in the center of the entryway.
The front windows look very small

It's beautiful! Actually, my aunt told me years ago that Feng Shui says that if you can see your back door from your front door, you will never be able to save money & she was right! But I don't think you can see the back door from the from the front door so that's good!
i’ve never seen feng shui mention that in any way and i can’t find anything to it but it seems so sensible to me!!

I think people in general these days have a more spoiled attitude. Lots of impatience and intolerance around. It's sad.
My feelings exactly. It's was fine. I'd live in it, as is, now and I'm a senior citizen. It was well cared for and looked great. No window now in the living room, for goodness sake! Fugly.
