    I love when influencers show that they are human too and that they can learn from there mistakes :) Thanks for sharing this!

    Thank you for your honesty. I am both terrified and excited beyond words to start this journey. The unknowns can tend to paralyze me, but this is a great reminder to me that we’re all human, mistakes will happen, and it’s ok as long as we learn from them!:) You have no idea how you’ve helped me with your videos. Thank you!!!

    Glad to hear about the undeposited funds! I have the same issue with a new client and I’ve been avoiding it because I don’t know where to start. He has hundreds of them from way back so thank you!

    I only work in desktop, I want to get a client online so I can learn. Also passing back up files can get messy

    I use both desktop and qbo. I hate qbo. Many times I can enter things faster. I do not find it as user friendly

    You are not the only one. I have also made such mistakes in my Bookkeeping and Accounting practice as well. I have made such mistakes on my very first Accounting job, and I have also done the same thing with working for my very first client. Both times, I have felt so unworthy to do any more Bookkeeping and Accounting for my former boss and my former client. I have felt so bad, I even thought about giving up Bookkeeping and Accounting. I just felt like I wasn't ready for it. What kept my interest going is helping out someone else, as a Bookkeeping and Accounting intern. That was my position, although it was voluntary work (a nonpaying position), until I was hired as a Billing Clerk/Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper. During that time, I was offered a business opportunity as a freelance bookkeeper. Sometime later, I was also offered an opportunity in having my own Bookkeeping and Accounting business, and I have been doing this business ever since. Right now, I have two clients in my business, and I hope to do well with it.
    I am hoping the best for you, as well, in your Bookkeeping and Accounting practice. May you do well it! That is all.

    I had a super cringy, embarrassing moment recently 🙈🙈🙈 I might make a full video about it, but basically, I sent out letters to CPAs in the area months ago and never heard back from any until recently. Someone called me out of the blue, and I never prepared what to say if any potential clients called me on the phone. It ended up being a really long, miserable phone call with a lot of “ums,” and after getting nowhere, I finally made up a stupid excuse as to why it wouldn’t work out and ended the phone call. ☠️

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping
      @FinePointsBookkeeping  2 года назад +1

      Oh man! I can totally see how that would happen, especially if it was awhile after you contacted them. It's so good that you're putting yourself out there, though--hopefully a good learning experience. 😆

      @@FinePointsBookkeeping definitely a learning experience! 😅 That situation probably wouldn’t have been a good fit anyway, so now I know I need to have scripts written down!

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping

      Yes, totally! If you want in-depth training on bookkeeping, it's usually best to sign up for a course or certification (check out my vid with options: ruclips.net/video/l5dnRgJem2o/видео.html ). If you're just trying to figure out what a bookkeeper does, I try to show that as much as possible in my 'day in the life' videos, as well as the short QB tutorials I have like "chart of accounts" and "bank feeds." Hope that helps!
