- Hey guys, so here is a video where I show how to clean a penny board. Follow these steps and you will have a nice maintained board. Hope you enjoy!

My penny board was really getting dirty so this was an amazing video to help me because I ride mine every day and I don't want to ruin it by griming up my bearings with dirt and rusting shut the bushings and connections. Thank you so much!

To clean my bearings, I personally like to use baby oil or skateboard lube. I just use baby oil since it was something i already had but what I do is i put all my bearings in a ziploc bag, then pour some baby oil in the bag, then I kinda mix the bearings in the bag, then take one bearing out one at a time and use a wire toothbrush to clean out all the rocks and dirt. Then wipe the excess baby oil off the bearing with a tissue. (Btw I got this tip from Chris Chann)

Dude if your going to clean the bearings, use liquid soap; buy a bones bearing cleaner and bones speed cream at your local skate shop. Its stupid that you clean the wheels, they WILL get dirty...
Yeah but it makes sense to clean the inside of the wheel incase any crap gets in there
the inside of a wheel won't get anything in there, especially on a penny board

21 RB if you have a penny board your gonna cruise the shit out the bearings and later on the insides of the wheels and the spacer will get as dirty as the bearings,if you don't clean them your cleaned bearing can get dirty due to the grim and dirty inside the wheel and spacers

Don't follow his instructions your board will rust
personally i dont do anything to the whole bolts and washers or the trucks. i literally just started pennying at the beginning of june and i just get a toothbrush and scrub scrub scrub until im too lazy to clean anymore. poof it looks clean enough.
My advice, you start actually taking your board apart and cleaning it that way. Because if you just clean the outside, then riding it will become more gritty and rusty and that's not good. Also make sure you NEVER get water on your bearings. Because that will make them rusty and break them completely.

The deck doesn't need to be cleaned because there will be know harm to the pennyboards mechanism so really all you have to do is clean the mechanism from breaking so it functions

This is only "outside cleaning", it will be the same dirty thing in 2 days. The important parts to clean for a smooth ride are the bearings and the pivot cups....
Could you just unscrew the eight screws on top and then just take the truck off with the wheels still on plz reply so I know
You should of taken the trucks of completely and left the deck to soak, thats what I did to get my deck clean :)
PS Never soak a trick board deck! only soak the deck if it is entirely plastic and has no griptape!
I have a yoyo bearing remover and it works with my Penny board
After removing my bearings I noticed that some of them are completely stuck and do not spin, even after cleaning. What do you guys recommend ?

cindi janak you can try and clean them with a piece of cloth or you can try baby oil (not sure about this one but I think it works. definitely confirm first tho). if they still don't roll well after that then you should probably get new bearings

hi, i have a question: i ordered a custom penny board with red deck but they sent a one with a black deck, now im willing to buy a seperate red deck and my question is: can you change/replace the deck easily?
Yeah. Remove the trucks from the Black board, then screw them on to the new one
btw you cleaned the bearings wrong you have to clean the insides as well as the outsides and you have to do it with a special type of cleaner and then put two drops of lubricant in the bearings after the bearing dried I just wanted to know if there was something spasific to clean the deck with lol

I think my bearing broke. something went missing, and you can some see little ball thingies on the inside and i have no idea what to do, like buy a new bearing or just keep riding it like that. any advice?
+Elias Rascon No they're completely fine. You just accidentally popped the shield off. You risk your bearing exploding which isn't really that big of a deal. Happens all the time. You can buy new bearings if you want. Bones Reds are fairly cheap ($15ish) and work just fine. I've been riding Reds for about 10 years on and off and they've been pretty good. Long story short, they're fine.

+xrexkinect those "washers" while still being washers are actually called speed rings on a skateboard, but yes his "bolts" are nuts. but lets point out actual video flaws instead, like how he cleans his wheels that will get dirty after 2 pushes instead of cleaning his bearings all he does is wipe the oil off them which is doing more harm than good...

you know for 5 dollars you can get a skate tool that can take off trucks,wheels and tighten the kingpin. also to take out the bearings just use the trucks to pull them off
WASHERS are the rings. SPACERS are the hollow cylinders.

Its normal if you Choose Hard Bushing just buy Soft Bushings
Why u have more dirt on the top of the penny board and barely any on the wheels
What if I have the 2 washers for all my wheels except 1 and on the one wheel I only have 1 washer..... is that bad
It wont hurt the board, but it will cause friction with the wheel and the truck/nut. Place the one washer you have closest to the deck to prevent some of the friction from occuring.
if you do brake the bearing it costs like 15 bucks to get new ones
Those bearings suck, so get people should get bones reds anyway so breaking them would help them

Makeup wipes are actually really tough and you can wipe he wheels with them

I was wondering it you needed lubrication for the pennyboard. I was riding my board and I noticed that it was squeaking. Is it because water got into the board?
Maybe just your trucks or brushings because I'm sure all penny boards squeak a little bit but if it's loud take your board apart and clean it. If it keeps on squeaking then it might be your bearings/wheels. :)
