The lab I worked with had one of those VTA machines. Cool piece of tech, used for further distillation after CO2 extraction and decolorization process. Lengthy process, with lots of manpower and technical training to work it, not as automated as it could be, but it gave good results I predict in the future they'll eventually make a closed-loop automatic system from plant to extraction to refining to distillate with very little human oversight and minimal training. They'll be pumping out distillate like the food industry pumps out high fructose corn syrup. Certainly there's a market for the genius engineer that can find a way to efficiently automate the whole thing
I am interested in raw flower distillation and will be trying it next harvest. I have seen many demonstrations on various solvent distillations but would like to know about raw biomass distillation. I am thinking maybe a steam bath under the biomass similar to a lavender steam distillation and then separate oils and waters or maybe saltify it. Or maybe raw flower will have enough water in it to not just burn in the flask. Any knowledge would be appreciated and would make my learning curve more efficient. Thx
which solvent do you use ? Sorry i'm french my english isn't very good yet so maybe i missed it but i didn't hear which solvent you were using ? And btw by your knowledges between Ethanol, Isopropyl Alcohol, iced water, Ether, chloroform, acetone and methanol which solvent is the more efficient/safe(with a lot of rinses for some of them of course) which one is the most tasteful and which one is both the most tasteful and the most powerful (THC/CBD) ? Thanks by advance for all of your work and all of your help !
Im having a issue with this batch, i can just not achieve boiling, and i get no reaction in my short path condenser head, this is only my second batch, and my first run went amazing, and now i have run this batch 3 times now and still cant get a reaction with water vapor collection i believe, there is some smoke and a little of the cloudy yellow, but i havent collected anything worth my time. please help

I love this channel , I would love to
Have my own lab one day .
Thanks for your love for the channel, be sure to tell others about the channel so they can share the love!
I'm assuming during distillation process, decarboxylation will take place regardless due to the heat provided to vaporise .
Yes, and the amount of decarboxilyation will depend on the temperature used and duration.

It can depend on the situation, all can work but all have pros and cons.

Check the seals and pressures could be a leak somewhere.
Great🌝🌝
Thanks!
