My first experience outside of the US was a three month summer internship in India. Definitely the other side of the world. You're right that nothing can prepare you for the chaos, but the greenery is a great contrast. Enjoy your time there, I hope it's absolutely incredible!
Wow that's a big jump from having never left the US at that time! Even after travelling to many countries in Asia we were still shocked arriving in India. But I have to say - after getting settled into our little travel routine here, we are already falling head over heels in love with it here. Thanks for watching!
Welcome to India. That is so true. You can't be prepared for your day in India. Its very weird how things work in such a chaos, unorganised and challenging environment without missing out. Looking forward to see more of your videos. At least you are positive about it which is a great quality to be happy.

All westerners get a lot of attention in India. I’ve been coming for 10 years and still feel like everyone is watching me. Blonde western women get so much attention in India. Enjoy it’s a fantastic country if you come either way an open mind and heart! ❤️
That's because most of them have not seen a blonde in their life, then all stories they have heard their whole life .. they try to gauge with the stories ... Street onlookers are safe unless you are in the wrong areas like gurgaon suburbs, dense forest in some remote areas... Mumbai is the most safe area to roam around even in 3AM ...
1. Around 1500 BC, the Aryans entered colonial India from the Khyber Pass and created the caste system; 2. At the end of the 6th century BC, the Persians defeated the Aryans and began to colonize India; 3. In 327 BC, the Macedonians Colonize India; 4. There is no India in the world, only colonies of the British Empire. After the British left, India was left full of beggars.
Remember guys, to Indians A Guest is like a God to us (Atithi Devo Bhawaha, in Sanskrit). So, please do not be taken aback or raise your eyebrows if some folks offer you freebees or pay you extra attention to make you more comfortable. Some (total strangers) will even invite you into their homes to share a cuppa tea or break bread together. Hospitality is deep rooted in our culture and it comes from the Heart. Enjoy India and cherish it's memories. Cheers, from Sydney.
This philosophy applies to those who give equal respect to us. Many of these visitors think that we treat our guests with such honor because they are superior to us and not because it is our philosophy. Many visitors like this one put a title to their videos is like "we did not expect this or that in India". Is it our fault that they did not expect this in our country? While they hide the dirty things about their countries they will try to highlight the same in our country. I do not say our country is the best of all.
Where are you staying? In old Delhi? That place is chaotic and rundown, as the neighborhood is mainly for low income people from some of the poorest regions of India that migrate to Delhi for work. Is that the experience you wanted?
@@b6yg Why doesn’t America clean up its inner cities or the UK clean up its many run down towns and trashy streets? The answer is the same: priorities , lack of pressure from the local residents, and that the cost of clean up is disproportionate to electoral advantages gained. There is another unique reason in India: the area is Islamic and the central government is a Hindu Nationalist one. This government has transformed cities like Varanasi and Ayodhya from a dilapidated state to a decent, visit worthy state now. They spent billions of dollars to clean up the holy Ganga. So they are fully capable of cleaning up Old Delhi. Make of this what you will.
I watch sooooo many videos of *Western travellers* visiting India and claiming *_I did not expect this_* !!! I would REALLY love to see a video by them describing *_what WERE they expecting !!_*
I explained it pretty thoroughly in the video, multiple times. We were shocked by how beautiful and green Delhi was and the silence and peaceful pockets that immediately made us feel at home. What is portrayed in the media of Delhi is often times just the traffic, we didn't realize there would be so much greenery.
@@nickandraychel India is very big and diverse . It has got everything from mountains to beaches , richness to poverty , all class of people live here and too in abundance . India can’t be described , it has got all the weathers , it’s a strange land but at the same time great as well so explore it . India is no 1 in spirituality . My recommended places . Leh , Ladakh , Dharamshala , south Goa , Jaipur etc

Don't be so naive ! White Vloggers are interested in focusing only on the filth, Slums and chaos since these videos are directed to people in Richie-Rich in the US, UK, Canada, Aus and NZ who have never seen or experienced poverty even during WW-II.
@@Omnitaku7 bro iam also an arunachali but I think our state arunachal is kinda overrated and every influencer talk about it . Just look at the damn infrastructure and litters our native have done to it lol be real our state sucks and keep it original it's a trash 🗑️
If u r planning to stay that long u have come at the right time so Happy Diwali in advance and plan out 26th of Jan for Republic Day each penny would be worth
3 must visit states in India to experience all terrains, forts, history, food and cultures (worth the entire trip) 👇 1. Gujarat 2. Andaman and Nicobar Islands 3. Himachal Pradesh
@nickandraychel And one more state called "Madhya Pradesh" if your Visa permits , you will find less crowded hidden gems in these states and extremely safe to visit, won't face any problems.
The best part about your Vlog is you both are unbiased and genuine. India is diverse and just like any other place, it has a good side and a bad side. It all depends on what you prefer looking. Stay safe, avoid street food and please don't mind if someone is staring or asking for selfies. Mostly it doesn't happen but few morons are there unfortunately. Enjoy your stay. Hope you like it here so far.!
Please visit udaipur, Jaisalmer, jodhpur in rajasthan. Orchha , indore ,ajanta and ellora caves 8n madhya pradesh. Kulu, Manali, shimla in himachal . Gangtok in sikkim, assam , meghalaya of northeast india. Goa,panaji . Cochi, allepy in kerala
Delhi , Jaipur, etc places are okay for once in a life time experience that's it , if you ask any Indian they will say other places. Like North East, or Super North , south India, Islands , mountain, beaches , Jungles , there's so many options for tourism which are not that busy like these cities.
Welcome to India, Nick and Raychel! So much positivity in your video. Entire RUclips is promoting only negative videos about India. As an Indian it makes me cry, India is not perfect but it has everything for everybody. Its definitely not a complete sh*thole how other western RUclipsrs make it look like by only visiting slum neighbourhoods.

Thank you for this lovely video. I'm Canadian and have lived in India for over 20 years and yesterday watched such an awful negative video by some British guy complaining about wonderful Chennai. This is so refreshing.
In India the restaurants don't open till later in the day. Safest would be to stay in a hotel or bed and breakfast that has complementary breakfast or paid food options. Alternatively you can get food from some corner stores that are inbetween a restaurant & a bakery/food shop. In larger cities or typical tourist places restaurants might be easier to find, but when traveling to less popular towns or tourist places, it's safer to stay in a place that offers some food options for breakfast. If you are going to be in India for 5 months, stay mindful of what your body is telling you- because food, water, air, linen in a hotel or travel industry conditions all can impact health & nutrition. That hair salon guy was likely looking to style your hair, he seemed like really into styling your hair, that's why he kept some of the hair. If you had some hair left on the scalp the sweat on it might keep you cooler longer. Delhi & many parts of India has much hotter climate in the October time. Nov to Jan will be much cooler in most of India. Also if you are in Navi Mumbai/Mumbai area & need a little local help, get in touch with me, would love to help out if you need help, or want a less crowded healthier eating or resting experience.
You need a lesson in geography. You left out the best places which are in Kerala, Karnataka, TN. Conveniently these places are remembered only when you want to get a job and make a career. The whole of the country comes to Bangalore ( my home town) looking for jobs.
Stop advertising northeast instead be specific and say Sikkim coz other NE states suck i feel arunachal, Assam and nagaland are overrated these three are trash states 👎
Facts;; Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his wife Mumtaz-i-Mahal who died giving birth to their 14th child in 18 years of "wedlock".

Hey guy's. Well ya made it safe and sound. Awesome. The place looks nothing like i would of thought. I had a image of it been out the gate madness. But yeah some ov those spots looked grand. The old history ov the place is cool. Look forward to ya fullas next outing. Keep it safe. Chur.
Cool, I like your videos, I like that they aren't too long. My dad was born in India, several generations there, all part of the raj, making railways etc, he was orphaned and was sent to live in a monastery with his brothers at age 3, (around 1930) in the mountains of Rajasthan. (he loved it, no bad memories) Apparently you can go and get the t shirt, lol. Unfortunately, I haven't made it there, one day maybe. Labour weekend here in NZ am off for the obligatory swim in the ocean. Stay safe, look forward to more.
Explore Hauz khas village, Cyber hub (in Gurgaon near to the Delhi), India Gate, DELHI haat at INA, BanglaSahib, Hanuman Temple, Qutub Minar at evening to see its beauty with lights on it. There are so many good places to eat local delicacies.
There is a Khan Market near Lodhi Garden and it's a good place to visit. Try butter chicken at Gulati's Pandara Road or you can try Butter Chicken at Daryaganj restaurant (not place as their is a place with same name in Delhi) who are the pioneers of Butter Chicken
Thank u sir for for sharing real and authentic experience regarding INDIAN Otherwise some so called BIG youtuber. Please make a visit to Akshardham temple in Delhi and BAPS temples in major Indian cities..you'd love it esp Akshardham with all activities and evening water musical show
It must be quite a change coming from New Zealand ! The first time I watched your videos was when you just arrived in Queenstown (I remember commenting when you mistook a cabbage tree for a palm tree - I made the same mistake myself!). All the best, guys!"
Thanks guys, India seems such an enchanting country, and I should have gone in my travelling days. But happy to watch you & your skinhead & bejewelled friend Nick to show me around. (No offence Nick) hehe
Being indian i can say for foreigners its like Farm simulator to them 😅 .Anyway enjoy we just enjoy to live between animals due to to our hindusim religion that teaches us to to respect evrything that exist in this universe cause evrything has a god within itself ~
Only South India is tourist friendly. And South is more Green and Clean. Considering these factors; Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are the best states to visit. I'm from Kerala🙏🏻
One small correction Taj Mahal is not a original Islamic mosque or mausoleum the original structure is a Hindu palace and it is on the 7th floor of building that the artificial remains are placed which in a way undermines and degrades the original value and purpose of the Hindu building it was supposed to be a palace which has several floors beneath and many many rooms so it was never originally meant to be a graveyard for one single person and it was bought or I don't know was it threatened and taken away but it's not original Islamic or the newly constructed building in the mughal era
Just avoid Crowded Places in Delhi State like-Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk, Pahargunj area in Delhi City. Otherwise there are plenty of Wonderful Places to explore around Delhi and NCR Region-Gurugram, Aero city, Faridabad, Noida, Sanjay Van, Hauz Khas, Agrasen Ki Baoli, Bhardwaj Lake, Tughlakabad Fort, Bhuli Bhatiyari Ka Mahal, Bijay Mandal Fort, Buddha Park, Mehrauli Archaeological Park, Sunder Nursery, Majnu ka Tila Tibetan Colony, Satpula Bridge, Jahaz Mahal, Pusa Hill Forest, Jahan Panah Forest, South Central Ridge Forest, Millenium Park, Asola Wildlife Sanctury, Jamali Kamali Tomb, Roshan Ara Heritage Garden, Talkatora Fort Garden, Deer Lake Park, Qila Rai Pithora. India has a unique culture and is one of the oldest and greatest civilizations of the world. India has achieved all-round socio-economic progress since its Independence. India covers an area of 32,87,263 sq. km, extending from the snow-covered Himalayan heights to the tropical rain forests of the south..... 1.India was one of the richest countries till the time of British rule in the early 17th Century. Christopher Columbus, attracted by India's wealth, had come looking for a sea route to India when he discovered America by mistake 2. India never invaded any country in her last 100000 years of history. 3. The Tirupati Balaji temple and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple both, receive more visitors than the Vatican City and Mecca combined. 4. India has more mosques (300,000 mosques) than any other nation in the world. 5. Besides Hindi, the following languages (arranged in descending order as regards numbers of speakers) are each spoken by more than 25 million Indians - Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia and Punjabi. 6. Today, India has the world’s largest school in terms of students, the City Montessori School in Lucknow. It has more than 45 thousand students 7. More than 54 cr. people voted in the 2014 General Election - more people than the population of USA, UK, Australia and Japan combined. 8. On an average Rs. 3000 cr. are spends by Indians every year on crackers during Diwali. 9. India has nearly 90,000 types of animals including over 350 mammals, 1,200 bird species and 50,000 plant species 10.As we know that India is called a country of unity in diversity. 10 Indian states have population of 25 million each which speak different languages. India has nearly 90,000 types of animals including over 350 mammals, 1,200 bird species and 50,000 plant species. I think with the help of these crucial facts, now we are in the position to answer that why India is the most interesting country in world... This is a nation where a large population will give up everything a person normally aspires for - all pleasures of life, all comforts, all rights - to simply live in pursuit of what is ultimately right❤️....we believe in "unity in diversity"🇮🇳and we're proud of our culture...we heartily welcome you to enjoy our culture
I would recommend you to avoid dirty chaotic big cities and go to Indian Himalayas- Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim etc. Ladakh is the most beautiful place in India and one of the most beautiful place in the world. to reach Ladakh you can go by domestic flight from Delhi.
I know the place, just outside new delhi railway station paharganj side, but never dared to eat in such place ever😮.. Try to avoid such places unless recommended by locals
Delhi is to much of the Indian Subcontinent- especially northern and central, what Rome is to much of Europe. Delhi has remained the imperial capital mostly uninterrupted for around 1,400 years. Multiple dynasties ruled over much of the Indian Subcontinent from here. Delhi was first established as an imperial capital 3,500 years ago but not much is on record until from 1,400 years back. It is a legendary city which also finds mention as a mighty imperial capital in the Hindu epic Mahabharat. Delhi has been invaded, sacked and rebuilt an incredible number of times in the past millennium. For this reason, you will find many medieval-era capital cities scattered all over Delhi- each capital built by a different dynasty. The so-called "Old Delhi" where Red Fort and Jama Masjid are- is basically the most recent (the newest) of all those old capital cities (with the exception of New Delhi which was the capital of British India and built only a 100 years ago)! The most prominent language of the Indian Subcontinent, i.e., Hindi-Urdu which is also the third most widely spoken language worldwide- was born in Delhi from the city's native tongue called Khadiboli. Delhi has significantly influenced the culture of the northern Indian Subcontinent. Therefore, if you love history then you are in the perfect country and the perfect city. India is synonymous with history. And so is Delhi. Please keep in mind that today's Indian cities are overcrowded, mismanaged, mostly dirty and noisy. If you can ignore these aspects then you shall have a fabulous few months touring around this historic civilizational land!
I hope you enjoy your stay here. Please e careful of street food - some of the stuff will make anyone sick. My advise is to travel around, go to places in the North East and then come down South. Apologies for all the stares and requests for selfies.
Try the 43 UNESCO World Heritage sites of India ! If you are a wildlife lover then try the 100+ national parks. If you love Forts and Palaces then spend your time in Rajasthan. If you love beaches then spend time in Goa, Gokarna, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep etc. If you love mountains then head to the Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. If you love nature and blackwater then head to Kerala. If you love untouched natural beauty then head to the North East. There are tonnes of places to visit. Just keep an open heart ❤️😊
If you wish to see architecture, go to Hindu temples in the South. See Ellora. Marvel at the architecture and sheer grandeur of the step wells near Jaipur and in Gujarat. Have a wonderful time
There are many Good & Beautiful Mandirs ( Temples ) in Delhi but you didn't visited them... I hope you do visit Mandirs , The Great King CHATTRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ & Freedom Fighters Honored Places in Mumbai...
If you have the habit of listening to good advice, then hear me out. Don't compromise on food, drinking water and residence quality. Stay in reputable hotels. Don't stay in 10-dollar rooms and later complain about the security. Don't eat uncooked foor nor drink unbottled water Pack everything especially food, drinks, sweets and water you need for any journey before the journey. You can't find anything in railway stations and airports. Avoid too spicy foods. Submit a photocopy of your passport when booking your train tickets at railway stations and airports for unlocking your foreign tourist quota. Just relax and spend appropriate money wherever necessary instead of trying to save money all the time. That way you'll be more relaxed and enjoy more. Not all people/places are good, not all people/places are bad. So better to do business with reputed people/places and avoid shady people/places. Have a comfortable stay.
Very nice blog, full of positive energy.. no cribbing, no ultra focus on poverty or negatives like many Western youtubers are doing these days. Conratulations and Welcome to India
big cities in India are the same. loud, messy, chaotic, polluted, populated, full of traffic and people don't have time to practice their culture. the villages are authentic India.

Thank you for watching!

Great start guys, well done and can't wait to see more. I've travelled there a lot and early mornings are always the best everywhere.
So beautiful can’t wait to explore more of this country!

Not everyone is rich in India. why doesn't India Clean up old Delhi if it has so much money?

My recommendation is Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Sikkim , rajasthan, Punjab state and northeast ↗️
@@Lepa782 I think only every states is beautiful and there is only one trash and That's YOU
Facts;; Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his wife Mumtaz-i-Mahal who died giving birth to their 14th child in 18 years of "wedlock".
Very nice video

The history in India is so incredible and we can’t wait to learn more
Cool, I like your videos, I like that they aren't too long.
Are you talking of Mt. Abu in Rajasthan?
@alani3992 That sounds familiar. Will check with sister. She knows our history better.
That is so interesting. Aw lovely swim in the ocean! Would love to do that soon. Thanks for watching.

Abe kya bak raha hai

India has a unique culture and is one of the oldest and greatest civilizations of the world. India has achieved all-round socio-economic progress since its Independence. India covers an area of 32,87,263 sq. km, extending from the snow-covered Himalayan heights to the tropical rain forests of the south.....
1.India was one of the richest countries till the time of British rule in the early 17th Century. Christopher Columbus, attracted by India's wealth, had come looking for a sea route to India when he discovered America by mistake
It has more than 45 thousand students
7. More than 54 cr. people voted in the 2014 General Election - more people than the population of USA, UK, Australia and Japan combined.
8. On an average Rs. 3000 cr. are spends by Indians every year on crackers during Diwali.
9. India has nearly 90,000 types of animals including over 350 mammals, 1,200 bird species and 50,000 plant species
10.As we know that India is called a country of unity in diversity.
Hope they can be cleaner and more organized
Delhi? You can expect that in Delhi. When you come out of golden triangle region. It will be good.

@nickandraychel Wow. More power to you 🙏😍 for keeping us entertained.
I love my India 🇮🇳
definitely a culture shock
Delhi is worst city in India term of pollution and safety. Accept it and try to improve it bro
Just lil deep into the history of these places. Who was Humayu and what he did with Hindus and real citizens of Bharat.
Hey Nick, just one correction that I noticed. You marked Humayun's Tomb as Jain tomb. Mughals weren't Jains but Muslims.
She knows not only people, but they convert buildings also! 🏢🏗️💼👷♀️✨
We have konark tample must visit
Tajmahal is made bu santan King not by himayu, It was captured by Malich King.
If possible plz visit our Hyderabad city bro😊
Love from Mumbai
Thank you!!
I hope you enjoy your stay here. Please e careful of street food - some of the stuff will make anyone sick. My advise is to travel around, go to places in the North East and then come down South. Apologies for all the stares and requests for selfies.
Thank you for the recommendations - we don’t mind the selfies ❤️
Visit assam kaziranga and sivsagar
You should visit north east india also it's aswomee
If you survive in Delhi then you will survive anywhere in the world
True
That means you haven't seen the world
Old Delhi is chaos.. If u want all ut senses to come alive.. Only then go there.. 😊
If you wish to see architecture, go to Hindu temples in the South. See Ellora.
Marvel at the architecture and sheer grandeur of the step wells near Jaipur and in Gujarat.
Have a wonderful time
This time of the year there's a lot of air pollution in Delhi. You should have gone to Uttrakhand or Himachal in India.
Can't understand why foreigners don't visit Old Fort, Delhi
It has historical significance
There are many Good & Beautiful Mandirs ( Temples ) in Delhi but you didn't visited them... I hope you do visit Mandirs , The Great King CHATTRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ & Freedom Fighters Honored Places in Mumbai...
Enjoy the festival deepawali
If you have the habit of listening to good advice, then hear me out.
Don't compromise on food, drinking water and residence quality. Stay in reputable hotels. Don't stay in 10-dollar rooms and later complain about the security.
Don't eat uncooked foor nor drink unbottled water
Pack everything especially food, drinks, sweets and water you need for any journey before the journey.
