In this video we talk about the history of dual beam HID technology, what's involved in a bi-xenon HID conversion kit, and how the dual beam HID relay harnesses work and why you need them! Авто/Мото
Thank you very much for the video. It is extremely helpful as I am about to install some H13 H13 Xenon HID bulbs with the same highbeam/low beam deal. The video would have used some additional lighting for those dark areas I couldn't see in the video but the whole explanation was excellent! Not even on HID manufacturer websites do they explain how these specific HID kits work so thank you for that. 🙏👍
Headlight Revolution - Thanks for the super explanation on using Relay and also working with dual beam HID kits. Great!
Awesome! Thanks just what i needed to know to install mine
Uhm how about close ups next time? For people that really need to see the difference
still the best video for universal installation here on utube. Just little dark
Thanks, that means alot!
Great work! well made and informative. You rock!
Thanks for the comment!
Cameras have zoom in and zoom out, just like headlight bulbs have low beam and high beam.
burn
Thank you for the informative video.
Our pleasure!
I'm using the exact same Milwaukee cordless wratchet!
Good stuff!!!
thank you
Thanx I'll be ordering next week and this should fix my problems? also I live out in the country so pitch dark at night what would you go with led or hid safety is a concern we have dear and coyotes out here in far west Az by the white tank mountains surprise Az area I'd like to dodge
I have a question, I connected everything properly and the work, the only thing is the on low they're energize for high beam, and they flicker, what do I need to do, reverse them?
Ok so im doin retrofit on a 2017 tacoma. So while i do understand the bi-xenon bulb will do the job of both my lo and hi beam, what do i put in the hibeam slot now that the bi-xenon does the job of hi beam? Since only one factory connection is used(driver) what do i do with the passenger side factory connection? Just let it hang there?
Good demonstration
Thank you!
I retrofit my lights on my 2007 Suzuki swift. Stock plugs are h4 and the projectors I retrofit are H1 bulbs. I bought a h4 relay harness(it uses one h4 plug from driver side and it connects to the battery too),two ballasts and two H1 xenon bulbs. I put everything together and it works fine, except one thing. When I switch on my lights and close them after a while, trying to open them again only drivers headlight came on. If I try on/off several times the passenger side work too. I thought my ballasts are bad and I bought new ones. But still the same. Is that a problem with my relay harness? Do I need a canceller/capacitor?
I haven't scrolled through all the comments, maybe the first half or so... the question I have is that if I wanted to use a stepper type of switch(like adjustment knob) would this affect how far in and out the bulb goes in the housing? Or are they more like an on/off type of thing? I've asked this on another video and haven't gotten a response yet.
hi. in my car the low and high beam are separate housing. both have h7 and h1 hid kit. as i am looking forword to get two bixenon set for both so that i can have 4 low beam and 4 highm bulbs. now all for hid are 55 w. if i connect two 55w bulbs in stock 55w connector it might burn. what can i do so that it will support this thing. help.
My ford fusion has single beam bulbs. Would that mean that I need to get 1 ballast per bulb?
I have a 2012 ram 1500 and need good lights as I travel for my kids hockey games all winter. My questions are will these work with reflector lights? And if they will what do I do with the old high beam light bulbs? Do I just leave them in or take them out. Thanks in advance
Hey! Thanks for asking. We're up here in Northern MN so I can relate. We live and breathe hockey. You definitely want better lighting for winter.
Low Beam: the 55watt HID conversion kit is the BEST option for your low beam, whether you have projector or reflector housings. It is the brightest bulb and has a great beam pattern. Link to your truck-specific kit: headlightrevolution.com/gtr-lighting-55w-gen-5-pwm-canbus-single-beam-hid-conversion-kit/
High Beam: LEDs bulbs will work better in your high beams because the HIDs have a delayed warm-up time (9-12 seconds) before reaching full brightness. When you flash your high beams on, you want immediate light! If you have any other questions, let us know. :)
I have a 08 silverado that helped but I want to be able to use a bi xenon projector, and the high beam build how is that done
Hello sir, i have a question, how to instal h4 bulb if i have h7 wires from my car?
My high beam will not work. The actuators are not moving the blub in to change the high beam. Do I need to Try flipping the polarity of the trigger plug?
I want to put one of these bulbs in a spot light that would plug into the cigarette lighter outlet. Is it feasible?
What’s the difference between Gtr lighting harness relays?
Is there a harness for the other side or do you not connect the factory harness I’m confused
I installed my kit the same way but one of the bulbs was working now it is not and I can't get both of them to work at the same time. What is causing this?
Sir i had ordered bixenon projector... though itwill fits in my Yamaha r15 v2, in my bike it's socket is h4 and bulb socket is also h4 and in projector it's only option bulb fitment is h1 ...plz suggest me how to use h1 bulb in h4
DJ Prashant DJ PRINCE, thanks for your comment. It sounds like you are trying to do a projector retrofit. This is very common in aftermarket housings. It is possible, but you will need to do some custom wiring.
Thanks for the info and video. I just did install exactly how it was done in this video. My low beams flash on and off, high beams stay on. Any ideas?
Did you do it in a 2004 RAM like the one we showed here? If so, we found this RAM needs a little extra help to make it work correctly. We made a second video, much like the one here, but made it especially for this specific RAM, take a look here: ruclips.net/video/XndW7uIu7E4/видео.html
Pay close attention to one of the last steps in the video I linked. It shows a fix we had to do on the install in this truck. Let us know if that solves things for you or if we can help you more. Send us an email at sales@headlightrevolution.com for more help.
9006/9005 to H4 Wiring Conversion Adapter..my car is toyota 1995 bulb 9005 and 9006..and now buy japonese headlight is only one bulb?
I need more information on the common power and high beam ground, low beam ground like on the 1996 Tacoma. And osram style ballasts.
Here is some info that I was able to find about the wirinig: www.customtacos.com/threads/headlight-wiring-diagram-for-96.122453/
Also, here are the ballasts that we have, the ones from GTR Lighting are a very good option!

+Headlight Revolution ---- i have a jeep 2015 wrangler i didn't buy the relay, they were stating it's better for 55W but i am using only 35W, should i get the relay wiring too?
If you are running a dual beam HID system, then yes we would recommend getting the correct relay harness.
Could use Lights on the subject for visual please. Plus a layout of the wiring would help. I have an extra relay I'm not sure of where it connects. 2005 dodge ram 2500 hid kit.
Hey man, shoot us an email and we will be happy to walk you through this install! Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com
I have bmw z4 2005 with factory HID but it work in different way , the magnet movement its produced from the headlight assembly so the lamp its not dual . And now i am ordering a new aftermarket headlights that have not this technologies my question is : if i put a h4 led lamp how can i convert the signal from magnet system that coming from car to 24V and wire it on the hight beam pin of the h4 lamp . And the second one is there any tricks to install h4 lamp on a h7 housing ? Sorry for all this questions but i think u may have the solution
Email us at sales@headlightrevolution.com and we can answer all of your questions!
So my headlight has one low and one high. I recently retrofitted two low/hi projectors in each headlight and I'm having troubling figuring out my wring. Can I run my low beams in a parallel and hook the ballasts up to the high beam relay to work when I use the headlamp dimmer switch? Thanks!
We should have some wiring diagrams handy for stuff like this, shoot us an email!

I have 2 headlight bulbs on each side (one for the high beams and one for the low beams). How would I make HID's work on my car? 2 kits of regular HID's without the bi option?
Correct, you would need two separate single-beam HID kits. One kit for the low beams and the second kit for the high beams.
Okay, thanks for the reply!
Headlight Revolution Seriously?! I bought Bi-Xenons off Amazon and it said the kit fits my truck... apparently not! I have different bulbs for high and low!!!
great video...need a favor i am trying t install my hid in my car but for some reason the ballast on the right side overheat more than the left...i switched the ballast and the bulb and still have the same problem...i replaced the harness and still the same problem...is it normal...how much temperatures the ballast can resist...need your help
Marco Ordonez try a relay harness with resistors on it.
My harness only has 1 connector for hi beam so how do I hook up the other bulb? It's not this exact kit but it's still the same
I've been saying and asking the same question and can't get a answer from no one!
For the passenger side headlight factory plugin do you just leave it like that, not plugged into anything?
Correct!
Honda accord 2012! Do i still need the relay harness if am only doing low beams?
Brother i would buy the gas one's not the dual lights because ur trying to get one light out of it but if u have it and ur trying to use it with missing harness I my self would believe it would
Harness is for the dual part for the light to move up and down buddy
Go it, One last question on my 2016 Chevy sonic I tried using my HIDs they would not work I was told is due to low voltage they flicker and turn off so if I tried using LED headlights would I run into the same issue
brandon wright It sounds like your vehicle has a canbus system that monitors and controls your lighting. A lot of newer vehicles have this and a traditional LED or HID set up just doesn't cut it. For your Sonic we would recommend this kit with an H11 bulb headlightrevolution.com/gtr-lighting-55w-gen-5-pwm-canbus-single-beam-hid-conversion-kit/
can this work on a honda cbr 600rr?
Do we really need the Relay harness control?
Question. My high beams dont work but the blue high beam indicator still comes on in the car. What could be the cause of no high beams?
Hey Dan, it could be a few things. If you want to give us a call to help trouble shoot we can help you out. 2187555200
I’ve been trying to install my kit I have everything for it I just can’t figure it out on a 2015 Buick Regal premium
Jaiver, for tech support please email us: sales@Headlightrevolution.com
Should the High Beam filament be positioned on the top or bottom of the lens?
Check out this video and see if this helps your understanding! Link: ruclips.net/video/C2qOwBX3WbY/видео.html
Hi. Are the Xenon kits (of each manufacturer) essentially the same? By that I mean that can you install a particular kit in a car with H4 bulbs, and then later remove the kit from the H4 car and install to another car (that takes H1 bulbs) with putting H1 bulbs?
The only component that would be able to be used in multiple applications with different bulbs would be the ballasts. The HID bulbs and relay harnesses have to be used in conjunction with the same bulb type that the vehicle has. So if it takes an H4, you'll need H4 bulbs and a relay harness.
The ballasts are universal and can be used in any application.
@ @@HeadlightRevolution, Oh ok. My car's stock headlamps (reflector headlamps) take H4 bulbs and I currently have an H4 bi-xenon kit installed. The reason I ask is because I plan on putting new "angel eyes" headlamps (these headlamps I found for my car take H1 bulbs). So, besides the H1 bulbs that I will need to purchase, will I need a relay harness too, or is it different case with the H1 xenon kit?
Did the daytime running lights still work?
Yes they do!
I have a question can you use an H11 kit on and H13 as I have an h11 hid just laying around.
brandon wright H13 is a dual beam and H11 is a single beam. Also the connectors are different so it will not work.
My hid bulb has a plug and my relay also has a plug. So I have 4 plugs total. How do I fix this problem?
Hey Will, If you haven't figured this out yet, send us and e-mail and we can better answer installation questions you have.

First time buyer i have a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer AWD 4.0L HEADLIGHT : 9007 FOG: 9145 which system BIXENON HID should i purchased i am looking for 5000K for maximum light output with 55-Watt for 9007 & for 9145 a 35-Watt HID..... I not sure which system i need or accessories like cancelers, Canbus , Relay wiring etc etc etc....please help
Sure thing! You will want the 9007 55w HID kit in a 5,000k color: headlightrevolution.com/gtr-lighting-55w-gen-5-pwm-canbus-single-beam-hid-conversion-kit/
For the Fog lights, you will want a 35w HID kit since the housings are smaller and HIDs tend to run on the warmer side: headlightrevolution.com/gtr-lighting-55w-gen-5-pwm-canbus-single-beam-hid-conversion-kit/
Sir how about the other side? Do you need another harness for the passenger side hid
Not with a relay harness, both sides function off one harness!
What do like better h.i.d. kits or led kits ???
It depends on the vehicle and application. :)
Generally, Projectors are best suited for HIDs.
Reflectors are best with LEDs.
How do I bypass the ballasts as they seem to be problematic in most cases?
If you want to get rid of the ballasts, you'd need to convert your whole system to either an LED or Halogen system which can often be a tricky task to do. We'd love to help you with looking into options Peter!
Send us an email: Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com
do they make bi-xenon d2r bulbs?
They do not, the low/high function would be a trait of the headlight they are mounted into, not the bulbs themselves.
Does it matter which side you plug in the relay harness?
No
Nope!
Work lights would have been helpful.. Haes to see what you are doing.
Sorry about that!
Hey what will happen if i put original halogen bulb in a projector fog lamp.
You’ll get a halogen fog light, It should work just fine.
@@HeadlightRevolution thank you. But i wanted to know if it will have an improvement over the reflector fog lamp and about how much improvement.
My battery is at the back in the trunk soo what do i do??? Please help
Fresh Prince: You can tap into a 12v power source under your hood. Most newer cars have a fuse box under hood that you can use to tap power for the harness. I have a video on my channel that shows this. Search my channel for Lincoln HID.
I got some hid bubbls from hid nason an they r not that bright with 6000k I hop they will be brighter with Xeon I hop
It wld hv better if there were close ups of the bulbs....it was explained well though
Thank you! We'll take that feedback for future videos
Apparently the vehicle's battery must be located under the hood. So, it seems Mercedes-Benz owners are SOL because their vehicle's battery is located under the rear, passenger-side seat. The battery connector shown is too short unless it is modified / lengthened. Dang it...!
So you can just pop an HID bulb in an incandescent housing?
You can indeed!
@@HeadlightRevolution You really shouldn't. The optics will be wrong and cause glare to other drivers and yourself. What you should do is retrofit a projector along with the HID install.
Need telescopic eyesight to watch the video
👍🏻
That video camera could've used an HID kit.
Hahahaha, thanks for watching!
Yeah they don't tell you that high beam bi-xenon hid bulbs scatter light instead of focusing it further down the road. The adjusting light would be a a good idea, if it worked..
Actually, the dual beam HIDs are used in an application where only one bulb is used for the low beam and the high beam. Whatever that factory bulb would have done, the high beam will reflect the same since they are the same bulb in the same position! Let us know if you need anything else!
Actually your wrong. Because if the hid bulb did the same thing as a factory halogen/ incandescent bulb, it would have 2 chambers inside the bulb where light would emit from, (which are both very close in a halogen) and they both would emit at the same time on high beams. The fact that both filaments on a h13 incandescent bulb light up on high beams, and the hid h13 bulb itself actually moves in is not the same, and does not act the same as a normal halogen. Like i said, it would be a neat trick, if it actually worked
Hey, I reserve the right to be wrong! But in all seriousness, we have tested these kits in many different vehicles, and in our testing we have found that there ARE certain housings that HIDs just do not perform as well in. That said, in the majority of headlights we tested these in, the solenoid in the HID bulb did a fantastic job at replecating the factory high beam beam pattern. I am not saying that they will be the most amazing upgrade in every housing, but for the most part they do a fantastic job at replacing the factory halogens! If you have any specific questions or concerns, we would be happy to help out as best we can if you just shoot us an email! Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com
you know these guys say "as you can see a lot" but i cant see jack. not enough light and not close enough to the lights to where i can see what youre even talking about.
There's too much I don't understand about these HID kits. Why do they usually only do low beam? That makes no sense at all. What about the fact that HID's are supposed to use a projector and not a reflector...but 99%of them still use the reflector, even complete kits that replace the entire existing headlight assys? Why is it so hard to find answers to these questions in the first place????
Andork, I'm not 100% sure I understand all of your points but I'll try to answer some:
1. Why do they usually only do low beam? --- What do you mean? We have kits that do low beam and high beam. It's easy to do both. Even on dual beam HID kits like in this video, it will do your low beam and high beam in HID.
2. What about the fact that HID's are supposed to use a projector and not a reflector ---- Technically there are many OEM headlights that use a reflector housing paired with an HID system. It's more common to see an HID system run in conjuction with a projector housing, but not all the time. When you're doing an HID conversion kit in a reflector housing you are going away from how it was intended to be used, an HID in a halogen reflector housing, but they still work pretty good.
3. Even complete kits that replace the entire existing headlight assys? --- I'm thinking you're talking about when you buy an aftermarket housing from somewhere and they throw in an HID converison kit. It's all the same as #2. Proper HID projector headlights cost way more to make and people want everything for free nowadays so almost nobody makes anything decent like what you're talking about because noone will buy it... Check out Starr HID when you get a chance. DOT approved, aftermarket housings with HID systems and projectors.
Thanks for the reply. I've been mulling the idea of a conversion with my Avalanche (9005, 9006 bulbs) but going online and actually finding something even as simple as a "FAQ" page that explains the basics and separates myth from facts is easier said than done, everyone just wants to sell shit. There is a lot of debate over what works best, what doesn't work at all and what's even legal. That's before getting into the debate over beam patterns plus there's a LOT of aftermarket kits out, and, as we all know, some are good, some...not so much! I hate buyers remorse and if I ever take the plunge I want to do it just once, so, thx again.

how do I connect to the positive if I have this kind of output -- imgur.com/a/3Cywx
That looks like a difficult one to install on, but it should be possbile. The HID relay harness is designed for more traditional battery connection methods, so a custom install may be required. If you can't access directly to your battery itself, please find a qualified car stereo install shop in your area. They should be able to figure it out for you.
Thanx now my car is called a canbus system and so I can't use led either ???darn

@@HeadlightRevolution i'm now learning how to instal hid, i need to see what you do about that hid, and how can i see it if the camera or zoom not close enough to the hid. And btw, almost the same thing happened with your another video.... 😊😊
video so dark. ugh
At least turn it on so we can see how it works.
That is a bummer that we do not show that, we will see if we can get something going for you there! Thanks for commenting, have a good one!
Too dark. Can't see a damn thing.
Another truck that'll b blinding drivers with their HID's smh. If your gonna run HID's then do it the right way! Do a headlight retrofit! Or don't do it at all. Adding projectors to your headlights with HID's will not only give you better light output then just installing HID's on your halogen headlights but it will keep you from blinding other drivers. I always do retrofits on my cars if they don't already come with factory xenon projectors.
Retrofits are the way to go for sure, but for those not wanting to dive deap into that, as long as they alight the bulbs and aim the headlights properly, they shouldnt be blinding oncoming traffic at all! I have linked the video that we made on how to align your bulbs, and I have linked that for you here: ruclips.net/video/OIow5YgdRro/видео.html
