They're from Norway, Denmark, and Germany. Their music is based on Iron Age and Viking Age writings (1200 BC - 600AD)
The name "Krigsgaldr" means "war song" in the broadest sense (krig = war). However, "galdr" (or galster) is a magic song or a magic spell from common Germanic *galdra magic song, song. To conjure up with a magic spell is bigalan in Old High German. The main background of the prefix German * -gal is the bird song, which means that the Germanic tribes originally derived magic spells or song from the bird calls, such as the generic name of "Nacht-i-gal(l)" (nightingale) in today's High German still recognizable.
Examples of this are the second Merseburg spell and the Old English blessing of nine herbs, in which Wodan/Odin appears as a healer or as a magician. In Norse mythology, in the Liederedda (poetic edda), the galster is also attributed to the god Odin, who is also named galdrs fǫður, father of the galster, in the Vegtamskviða (Baldrs draumar), for example.
”Gala” in modern Swedish is what the cockrel does

So glad you enjoyed it. Pronounced HI-loong. It means healing in German. This was their first performance together in 2017 at Castlefest. The whole performance is an amazing ritual. They describe their art as amplified history. My wife and I saw them in Portland last year. Incredible!! If you ever get the chance, don't pass it up. Yes, those were bones. They have a side project called Songleikr. I recommend Uveltime (Hour of the Wolf). Cheers! 😎
I was at that same show. It was one of the best live performances i've seen.
I was there, too. Loved gathering with other tribesmates at the fountain across the street.
I can tell you as a German : Wrong Pronounciation.
They are not American. They are European: from Denmark, Germany and Norway. They are so awesome!
Maria is tapping bones from a human arm. Some of their instruments are painted with human blood. They were banned from playing in some countries because of that. She’s really impressive in Anoana.
I'll take this over ANYTHING new being played on the radio stations nowadays
This group is so cool. I’d love to see you someday react to their song “anoana” it has a beautiful video to go with it. More about nature and earth. Has a real cool spiritual vibe
Anoana blows my mind it's so good.
jes this song is unbelievable
A friend of mine and I got to see them in concert in September, been a fan of them for a year before seeing them, left the concert feeling like our minds had been blown. Definitely like this bands music.
This was so funny 🤣. Your face was like you stumbled upon this in the middle of the woods and “noped” tf out of there as quick as possible
Lmao
The beginning sounded like it was from thousands of years ago - a tribe preparing to go into battle
Saw this group in concert last year! Outstanding!
I can imagine
You need to watch the entire concert. Amazing. Hard to believe this group, Dakkabraka, Marcelito Pomoy, Angelena Jordon, and the one and only Dimash all hit the internet about the same time back in 2017. Been watching them all ever since.
This band awakens the tribal instinct in everyone, it doesn't matter which part of the world you come from :D. You can check "Heilung | LIFA - Hamrer Hippyer LIVE". Very intense, trancy preformance. I'm sure you would love that.
They are a new age representation of old world and a past of tragedy
That’s dope
Aren’t they incredible? I was lucky to see them just a week ago here in Sydney. One of the best most transcendent experiences of my life. If you get the chance to see them don’t hesitate.
Love your reactions, Julia. 🌈😊👏
What instrument do you play?
"The bones of my enemies."
😂😂😂😂😂
@@watchbizmatik Heilung just recently finished a US tour. If/when they come back, you definitely need to check them out live. It is an experience you will not forget.
Actually the bones of our people. Genetic memory is woven in its beliefs, existence & struggle to endure. SKOL !

No. Ancestors.
Went to see their ceremony in San Francisco… life changing. You should do a reaction to In Maidjan, Maria Franz singing is breathtaking!!!
Thanks for hellblade 2 trailer from 3year ago, I find out this band and now I can't help myself to keep listening their song
I would have recommended In Maidjan over Krigsgaldr, its easier for first timers. In Maidjan has some of the best vocals you will ever hear.

Heilung does put you under a spell, a spell of healing. Then again I've hung out with Indigenous Americans (Navajo/Hopi) and Wiccans (witches) so there you have it!
Ooold language. Old Norse, I believe. Heilung is Awesome! Been a regular of mine for years
Iirc krigsgaldr is in proto Germanic, but I'm not sure
@Buffy one of them cant remember since they use both in a lot of their music.
@@buffyowo You're correct, the whole song aside from the English bridge is reconstructed proto-Germanic.
they use many different singing techniques including throat singing...and if you get the chance...you should watch the whole show ;)
Pagan Europe is alive and well.
HEILUNG is absolutely EPIC!🥰
Greets from the Middle of Germany😊
Those are human bones in her hands btw. You hear them throughout, human femurs I believe. When I die I want my skeleton to be donated to Heilung for their music lmao.
Everything you see is as authentic as they could possibly be, animal skin drums, real skulls, real furs. Their songs are often in dying or long dead languages, they basically take writings from ancient artefacts and scripts and put them into song. I saw these guys live in January, and It was the single most eye opening, awe inspiring, soul feeding experience of my life and I cannot WAIT to see them again. Heilung are Magick.
So glad you enyoed the music of my ancestors..My tribe my peoples
Heilung (German)....Healing......Krigsgaldr ..... Spiritual War Chants.....This LIFA Live Show was their FIRST Live Show ever !!!!.....Band Members are from Germany/Denmark and Norway.....LONG before the Vikings !....Maria Franz plays HUMAN Bones !....Faust,the Lead Singer,is also one of the Worlds Best TRIBAL TATTOO Artists!
Oh and yeah they are bones, they use as much "primitive" instruments as they can and hid the modern stuff in horns and such
"I feel like they're putting a spell on me!" Funny you should say that... 😏
Asja by heilung g is badass
I also recommend two songs by wardruna healing mountain & white reaven
Check also the Track "Helvegen" from Aurora/Wardruna...awsome Song!
As I understand and I am sure if I am wrong I will be corrected, they are performing and sort of blend of Germanic, viking tribal music, I am sure there are other nation states I failed to name but those are the two primary in this song I know of but the gist I get from it is it is the meeting of the old non christians with "new christians" and how the old value the old ways of iron to those of peace but that is my take not everyones and I could have misinterpreted the song
I don't quite understand your words, but the song itself narrates how a foreign people invade a peaceful tribe using the only language they know: violence. It is, in other words, what has always happened throughout history when a people wants to take over a land that is already occupied by another people. They say they come in peace, but they don't drop their weapons.
Krigsgaldr means something like "war chant".
I don't think anyone apart from them and a few scholars speak Neolithic Germanic or old Norse, so the chances of subtitles is probably zero 😁
Yes Real Human Bones !
Min warb naseu

What am I supposed to do
If I want to talk about peace and understanding
But you only understand the language of the sword?
What if I want to make you understand that the path you chose leads to downfall
But you only understand the language of the sword
What if I want to tell you to leave me and my beloved ones in peace
But you only understand the language of the sword
I let the blade do the talking
So my tongue shall become iron and my words the mighty roar of war
Revealing my divine anger's arrow shall strike
All action for the good of all, I see my reflection in your eyes
But my new age has just begun, the sword is soft
In the fire of the furnace, it hungers to be hit
And wants to have a hundred sisters
In the coldest state of their existence
They may dance the maddest in the morass of the red rain
Beloved brother enemy, I sing my sword song for you
The lullaby of obliteration
So I can wake up with a smile
And bliss in my heart and bliss in my heart and bliss in my heart
Coexistence, conflict, combat
Devastation, regeneration, transformation
That is the best I can do for you
I see a grey gloom on the horizon
That promises a powerful sun to rise, melt away all moons
It will make the old fires of purification, purification
Look like dying embers, look like dying embers
Look like dying embers, look like dying embers
Look like dying embers, look like dying embers
Look like dying embers, look like dying embers
Look like dying embers, look like dying embers

Have you checked out The HU, they are from Asia and they are very cool. I would suggest checking out Wolf Totem and a few others what you chose to post on your page is up to you I am just suggesting music you may enjoy
Yup, I did two songs from them so far
@@watchbizmatik I will check the page and check them out and thanks for letting me know. You do good work bro and I thank you again for your time.
this tells a story of what a peaceful village had to do when invaders came
Old school trance music
🦉
A peaceful village needing to gearup for battle ..
Krigsgalder means warpath.

ruclips.net/video/xLmaqF-edv0/видео.html
They should rename the band. Definitely non-vegan.
Hu war opkam har a hit lot!!!
To be clear, I enjoy this.
*HOWEVER* , there's something genuinely scary about them. It goes deeper than the costumes and the bones and the skulls.
When white folks *really* get into the primal, tribal, origin-of-our-people thing, shit gets weird in a hurry - and not in a good way. History has demonstrated that we melanin-deficient types require supervision and societal guard rails when we get cranked up.
Just saying... It's ok to enjoy this. I do. But I gotta balance it out with some James Brown, or maybe Carlos Santana.
If body odor had a sound lol
😂😂 u not right for that 🤣🤣
@@watchbizmatik I know 🤷♂️
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. His name is Jesus Christ
It is very laughable to see people reacting to this sort of music that is nothing new (at least to me or people from Chile/Argentina or better said..people with CULTURE). This band "Heilung" is just a combination of old good Dead Can Dance (Australia), Ayrto Moreira (Brasil) and Sidnea O'Connor (Ireland). All these sounds You can clearly found them in the mentioned artists, albums that were made back in the late 80's and 90's. I feel happy to see that Americans are waking up to real music and not just a bunch over produced and bad executed electronic music. Keep Faith alive guys!
Ok. … maybe stick to your own culture in Chile/Argentina?
